Hubby lungs not infected and he was discharged from hospital this am, with a hefty course of antibiotics and xray appt for 3 weeks time.
And almost as good - i got on the scales - finally - after at least 2 weeks of avoiding it and i was 55.6kg!! Think that's 122.5lb. So i 'got away with it'. I ate plenty of naughty things and didn't put on weight!! I"m in absolute shock from this. I know my tummy isn't as flat as it was, but maybe from all this exercise i'm losing weight from elsewhere? Anyway, it's motivated me to get back into the diet (perversely?).
The good/bad outcome of this was that i went shopping this afternoon (BIG sales on here at the mo) and got some cool new clothes!
My second date with this guy went well. So far this guy seems to be doing everything right. I guess it is possible to meet decent guys on line although I have to say that his profile is not a good description os him. So chickie: if you are thinking about trying this again, keep your mind open a little bit. I'm not overly picky on looks or a lot of other things either but I do have to be able to have an intelligent conversation with him, I'm very big on personal integrity, and he has to treat me well. I'm a good catch and I know it, even if I don't look like a supermodel.
I did have a pleasant surprise today. I got on the scale and I was back down to that magic number, even with date meals.
Ange-so happy to hear your hubby is okay.
Becky-try not to gloat too much
I'm on call this weekend. I need to get work and get to it.
Have a lot going on this weekend, several nieces & nephews graduating this weekend, family has all decided that my house is the place to be, so we are having cookouts & family in and out all weekend & kids everywhere. My husband has injured his knee & he is on crutches & waiting for surgery, so maybe the word chaos describes what is going on here for the last week or so.
I just wanted to pop in long enough to wish everyone a good weekend.
Welcome I'm on a Boat! Things seem to have slowed down on the board, but it's a great group for encouragement and support.
Petra and MC: I'm glad I'm not the only one doing the dating thing !
Ange and PM: good to hear everyone is on the mend!
ICU: isn't vindication a wonderful thing? : )
I just went crazy shopping for something to wear for tomorrow's date. Fortunately I had a friend with me. Kmart's sizing is insane - the smallest size I usually wear is an extra large, usually it's 1x-2x, but I got a blouse in a medium? I wish I could say it was due to weight loss or getting in shape with exercise! I'm terrible about finding clothes that fit and I have 2 styles of clothing, either ultra casual or dressy. Nothing in between. Going on a casual, walk around downtown, craft show and art festival type of thing - riding in a convertible no less. But I didn't want to go with shorts and a tank top on a first date. This whole dating thing is an awful lot of work!
I had an unexpected visit from some old friends, and went on an impromtu camping trip on thursday and friday. lots of hiking and a day on the beach : ) An extra couple of days off was a nice break!

Today started off right...woke up thinking "go walk NOW" ...and I did. Hubby went with me. We were time crunched today so it was only 25 minutes, but it started the day out on a good foot.
To those who are dating via online, good ones are out there. My husband and I met that way. We dated 3 years and yesterday celebrated our 1st anniversary. I had to weed through some interesting folks before he showed up, but it was well worth it. He's awesome!
Thank you to all who post here and anywhere else on the board. Being able to find this kind of support and encouragement makes such a huge difference for me. I appreciate you!
There might be fewer posts, but a greater number of people i reckon...
Kandewit - sounds like you're living by your name, good work today.
Petra - i reckon internet dating is a superb resource, so why feel coy about it? It would be silly not to use it. And there's plenty of intellegent guys. My friend was a professer at Oxford Uni in England then came back to Sydney to live and found her man on the internet. He's lovely (and of course intelligent) and the two of them are perfectly matched. Sounding positive for you, if you're still happy after 2 dates though.
Kathi - what a good-sounding life you're having. Dating, hiking, beach. Not to mention medium-sized-bloses!!
PM - good to hear DS is getting better. I don't have children so can't imagine how people can get by without regular unbroken sleep (not to mention the worry that goes with it in your case).
Becky - great things are going well for you too.
There's a lot of positive stuff in here at the moment
Im on a boat - sounds hectic at your place! Tricky environment for dieting though so good luck with it.
Er, i've no time to add anything of my own now, got to dash as i'm late for my Spin class.........
[WLW] - I hope you post up how your 1st date went. I am so glad there are three of us talking dating. I am afraid to date again. I've been chatting with a couple of guys online, but I feel negative about the whole thing. My weight loss hasn't boosted my confidence at all with this. I guess it's mental.
This weekend I didn't go out much because I was recovering from my trip. My 3 year old niece had her 1st dance recital. Apparently, she was sobbing the whole time back stage with my sister. She ended up being the only child up there doing the dance moves. The other girls were standing on stage looking at the audience. My family was screaming with glee. We had no idea that our little girl could be a diva backstage and then do her thing onstage.
OnMyWay – I hope your summer is off to a great start!
AnnieDrews – I hope you’re enjoying your weekend and your older son was able to join you!
Ange82much – I hope your DH is doing better! Oops, just read that he is; glad to hear it! Enjoy your new clothes!
MotivatedChickie – I’m glad you had a great vacation! I’m sure that getting back to your normal habits will enable you to drop those 5 pounds in a flash. That's really cute about your niece!
KittehMomma – Hi.
PeanutsMom – I’m glad your son is well again!
ICUWishing – wow, that’s quite a school! I would love to hear our school tell us to lighten up over the summer (which we do, anyway)… I hope you and DH get on the same page and it sounds like this new school has been great for your son! Sorry about your boss getting fired…
Petra – I’m glad the dating scene is going well!
WeightLossWanted – sounds like you are having a lot of fun. Enjoy your new clothes and your dates!
KanDewIt – welcome! Glad you had a nice walk yesterday, got up and got moving!
Here, I did my 4th spin class today and was able to completely keep up and be synchronized and all that. Wow, what a workout! So I’m enjoying that… DS11 came with me and shot hoops and walked the track while I was there so it’s good to see him moving, too. All is good here. I joined a CSA this year (farm share program) and got a small share. We had our first box last week and have eaten everything but the green onions. I found a recipe for Bulghur Wheat with Green Onion Vinaigrette that I am looking forward to trying. Have a great day everyone!
I've had an absolutely hideous weekend of call. It will officially be over tomorrow morning and I'm counting the hours. I also have vacation to look forward to at the end of the week. If I don't drop dead from exhaustion between now and then.
