    I did not get my miles in this week, but hope to get out on the bike this weekend.
  • Yay for new folks! I have been horrible about getting my miles done this week too. I've been able to fit in some toning, dancing, etc., but I definitely need to get back on the exercise band wagon!!
  • Got my walk in this morning. Even though I may get in the same number of calories (or more) and go further (or more) on my stationary bike, I don't really feel like I've exercised unless I get my walk in. I think it has to do with the fact that it takes more effort on my part to go do it. Or maybe it's because it's the exercise I started with, so I like to see my progress in terms of distance and speed. Make any sense?

  • Hi folks. I feel like I have been neglecting you this week. I am sorry.
    If you are new, you don't know me, but I have bad arthritis in my hip and hands. I had surgery on my hip in June to try to smooth the joint out and postpone having it replaced. I have been rehabbing since then. Last week I went in to have synovial fluid injected into the joint and I did not exercise all week. Not because of doctor's orders, just because ... uh.... I was worried and lazy....
    So, I fell behind in my 50 mile goal. I am going to get as close as I can, and I plan to start another goal in October, so I might make the whole 50 then. I hope you guys will join me for monthly goals. I really need the accountability to get my miles in.
    I'm so glad we have some new people! You guys stick with it and keep track of how many miles you put in. Maybe we will do a long term overall mileage thing one of these days. Like a walk across a state or something. First I need to get a few months of 50 miles under my belt. I have lots of great plans, not always lots of great follow-through.
    I woke up with a migraine this morning and missed church. I just got up again, and plan to get in three miles on the spin bike today. It's nice and cool outside, and I think I could take a walk, but I tried one walk a few weeks ago, and I really regretted it. I have two more injections in the hip; this coming week and next week, and then I will be done and I think ready to walk. I HAVE to get this weight off to save my joints.

  • Yay crazy!!! Don't you feel great about that! Next time you don't want to, remember how great you felt afterwards this time. WTG!!!

    I was up super early this morning and was contemplating going back to bed or getting some work done, neither of which was appealing, so tied up my sneakers and off I went - 4.5 miles. It was a beautiful morning for a walk and my son surprised me 1/2 through by meeting me and walking the rest of the way. Nice.
