Bobbi, I like yahoo email. I have gmail as well but like yahoo way better. I've never lost an email with it.
KarenFL, I've been relatively good in following orders. Since I keep having a little bleeding, I am trying to be an because I will never get my life back if I don't. So I'm an and I still have a little bleeding. Then DH goes and gets a cold and I'm quite sure I'm not getting it. Can you tell I'm getting p1ssed??? I want my life back. I really do.
Rie, KarenFL has a point about being nice to our bail bondsgirl. You'll be fine. Chew lots of gum.
Donna, I hope it is snowing on the fires, too.
Rosey, I'm really glad your daughter hasn't encountered any really nasty weather. Traveling in the winter is dangerous. Traveling across Canada and Alaska is just even more so.
I know I'm missing many but I'm too tired and coughing to go back and do this right. I'm actually typing this in 3FC instead of Word. I never do that. I lose this then my post will even be shorter.
BTW, I'm not just gorking. I've been working from home. Sometimes full days, sometimes no days. Today and yesterday were full days.
Marie
It has been a nice day off. Got to talk to my sister and my mom. Had physical therapy ~ boy that makes me tired and achy. Hopefully ~ if I keep doing what they have taught me, after time I won’t hurt as much.
Got a little bit done ~ working on fixing up my scrubs ~ deadline May 1st to start wearing the all black ones. Didn’t get as much done as I had hoped, but Maddie was here and I can’t pass up a chance to spend time with her. That is a day brightener.
I am counting my blessings. I am so thankful and blessed to be a part of this group of ladies. Everyone is so caring and willing to help each other.
Well, the evening is passing quickly ~ I have my fruit salad to make yet and get my lunch packed.
Here is a pic of Maddie and me today. She had these little hearts and wanted to make necklaces out of them for the both of us. Took just a couple seconds ~ making memories
Hi everyone. another nice day here. didnt do alot today, except i took a sorta fall a few mint ago. i was putting my hand out to steady myself on a dog carrier on the couch and it moved and i lost my balance and down on my knees i went. but the good thing is with my dh's help i was up in a flash. yup nothing hurt but feeling stupid. 2 yrs ago i would have had to have the medics come and get me up. so i'd say thats alot of progress. hoping your evenings pleasent rosey

Bobbi - I just finished reading Explosive Eighteen. Is that the name of it? I liked it. I downloaded it from the library this morning and finished it already! I couldn't put it down.
Gayle - I'm glad your mom is home from the hospital and I hope they get her BP straightened out.
Rosey - I looked up Nora Roberts books and read the synopsis for all the 1980s ones and none of them sounded like the book I read. I have done that with the Danielle Steel books and also Sidney Sheldon. As I remember, the story was similar to Sidney Sheldon's writing. It could have even been an unknown writer who only wrote one book. I can remember the day I bought it. It was a Sunday and I was bored and wanted something to read. I went up to a local convenience store that just had a little rack that spun around with maybe 30 books on it, and this one caught my eye. I can remember that I couldn't put the book down, but I'll be darned if I can remember the name or the author. I can remember back 61 years ago to my first day of kindergarten, but can't remember the name of the book from 25 years ago. Why is that? LOL
Had a good workout at the gym. Didn't get to the weight machines today but did a lot of biking and walking. Got the results of my stress test and it was normal. So I'm sure the "chest" pain was from my hernia. I just need to eat less. The pain has gone away and I feel good right now anyway. Still don't understand about the strange head feelings but since doctor isn't that impressed I guess I'll forget it unless it gets worse again. We did a little grocery shopping and after I got home I suddenly remembered I'd agreed to this sales person coming to the house. Just got home in time. I had to face him alone though as dh had another thing to do.
What are you all doing for Easter? I think I am buying a Honey Baked Ham and we are eating at home this year just the two of us. Our son is working and our dd won't be here in time. Some years we eat out but dh seems to prefer not to. I don't eat much pork but he loves the ham and I like it a little so once a year its ok. I do eat bacon and very occasionally ribs. Pork just tastes greasy to me or something.
Rosey - You have come so far!! I'm glad you were not hurt today but wow, that's great that you were able to get up easily with dh's help. I'm sure glad he was there.
Bobbi - I like gmail. Because of entering sweeps I get a lot of email and i like the way gmail handles it.
Karen3 - Hope you enjoy the Mirror but let me know what you think either way.
Rie/Deelee - My dh and I take Metformin. Seems to work well and it doesn't upset my stomach or anything. I do get really bad leg cramps now and then (every thing goes in cycles for me! ;-) ) and some people say they can be caused by Metformin but others say it's the diabetes itself. My doctor says he has no idea. At least he is honest with me. I'm sure my snacking habits are from my childhood.
Glynne - Glad you mom is doing ok. It must be hard to have elderly parents. Mine have been gone for many years and I never really went through all that with them.
I started this an hour ago then got called away. So I'll close now.
Hey there....hoping you all are having a sunny afternoon. My clothes dried almost instantly outside, DH is now folding them. He's a good boy, a tad ornery too. He has to put the ceiling in the old car before we do anything else. He's procrastinating because he doesn't know how to do it. The instructions are vague. I said I'd do it, got my head bitten off.
Mary...great news on the normal stress test. We're having Easter at DD's house. (She doesn't eat pig so it won't be ham.) I purchased a ham last week, so far we've had three meals off it. The rest I made bean & ham soup today, will eat on that for a couple more meals. We get lots of mileage out of a bone in ham. It's sounds lonesome with just the two of you celebrating Easter alone. I'm not sure what gmail is, google?
CarolSue...I didn't think Explosive 18 was as good as pass books. Maybe I'm expecting too much.
Rosey...sorry to hear of your fall, I'd expect that to happen more with no feeling in your feet. I'm so happy you didn't break a bone. We had eggs for supper with ham. Instead of hash browns like you had, we had potato patties fried in peanut oil. I have the peanut oil in a mister so it goes a long way.
Gayle...why is everyone going to wear dreary, dark black instead of something bright and cheery?
Marie...I looked into gmail, haven't gotten around to checking out yahoo mail. Too many things to do yet on my computer. I'm still playing the words game with DD, she started me on it before you and I started the game. She puts in one word about every 4 or 5 days. Sometimes I have to remind her, at this rate it'll take all summer to finish it.
She's the same way when we play scrabble at our house during holidays. She takes forever to make up her mind.
Isabella...I see you posted a ww croissant, I didn't know they made them. I run when I see those buttery things, too many calories. Are yours high calorie? I'm guessing you get them in the freezer section.
KarenFla...that's what I want to do, sit on the porch with my old geezer and rock. Yup, ma and pa kettle...I remember going to the outdoor drive-in theater and watching them. Dates me too.
Rie...I'm not from the South either but I blessed DH's heart this morning. I'm going to be a royal pain in the butt to him until he gets started on the ceiling of the old car. I can't do anything until he gets it done.
Freda...you're right...we always want what we don't have. I can't picture myself bored after moving into town. I don't move as fast either.
I need to clean up my desk and balance our checkbook.
later gators.
Gayle, I LOVE that picture of you and Maddie. She’s clearly your granddaughter. Your cheeks look nearly identical.
Rosey, I’m so happy for you that the fall didn’t hurt you and that you were able to get up with CrankyPant’s help. How awesome is that???
Carol Sue, if all you’re forgetting is the name and author of a book you read 25 years ago, then you’re doing well. There are lots of times I forget I’ve read/listened to a book until I’m a good 20 pages into it again.
Bobbi, I got my daughter to start playing with me again. I told a play or two a day is plenty fast.
Mary, I don’t like pork or ham. Sad for my DH who does like ham a lot. But not sad enough for me to make it. DH and I bought a turkey to roast on the Weber BBQ this weekend. According to the weather people (hoping they’re not being fools) the weather is supposed to be better (aka no more snow) this weekend.
Had my weekly dr appt this morning and I don’t need to go back for 4 more weeks. I’m allowed to go back to work on the 17th half time, then full time 2 weeks later. Personally, I’m hoping the megamillion ticket I bought on the way home is a winner and I never have to go back. I can live with the jackpot not being a record one. The cold is mean and I used food as a comforter yesterday. Mac and Cheese – it was awesome and not one bit of regret.
Marie
Rosey, so glad you didn't hurt yourself when you fell. I'm the queen of falling in our family...LOL
Bobbi, the WW Croissants are fresh in the bakery section of our Superstore (a Loblaws store). They don't have any nutritional information because it's from the bakery so I eat them and hope the ww absorbs some of the fat. I only buy them about once a year and there are 6 in a package so there's 2 left, one each for DH and me. Sometimes a girl needs a croissant. At least I don't buy the chocolate filled ones.
I keep losing my internet connection so I'm crossing my fingers that this will go through. I have to contact the server but I hate doing things like that.
My eats and exercise for today.

Breakfast: Oatmeal with mixed raisins, bran, wheat germ & flax, skim milk, brown sugar, fruit salad

Just got the internet set up this afternoon-- spent a lot of time "glancing over" March GG's and will try to get back here later.. Sure missed everyone and glad to be back!! Here is a pic. of the "office" Still lots to do!!
Hi Karenmo...welcome back!
Gayle...add this to your bookmarks...MapQuest. Just click on the blue 'get directions'. Once the map shows up on your computer, zoom in and you can see all the small towns on the map and see what towns you'll pass through.

Gayle...I do the same as Isabella. You can just google map directions, put your town in, then a town you're approaching. It'll tell you how many miles from your home to that town. You are leaving Woodland and just pass Clarendon, Texas. That's 364.12miles. MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map
Love your car project Bobbi. Wow you guys really did a great job.
went on a long walk with a friend today,Brrrr i didnt realize it was so cold. Cooled down from yesterday. But got in some good exercise. Experiencing some nerve pain in my feet now but that should go away after awhile.
Rosey sounds like a great time when your DD comes home. Happy for you. Our weather is warming up some~ the sunshine was so fantastic the last few days.
Anyone know anything about working from home and companies that hire. I no longer have my part time job and would love to have something else to make some extra $$. I am disabled so its hard for me to do alot but thought maybe a few hours here and there i could do that.
Have a great evening. And a big hello to all that i didnt mention this time around
Brenda
What a day. Took DM and DF to their doctor appointment. DM’s blood sugar was too high. We have someone come into their apartment at the retirement community to give her meds twice a day and they test her blood sugar three times a day. It’s 100+ in the morning but 300+ at night. The doctor said that she obviously is eating bad things. He looked at me and asked, “How is she getting this bad stuff?” I said, “They have 5 restaurants to choose from and a little general store where she can use her meal card to get candy bars, donuts, and cookies. You need to tell her.” I didn’t let it upset me. I know that I’m doing all that I can for my parents. We then took them shopping. Bought her some healthier snacks. I told her she shouldn’t have dessert with dinner AND the bedtime candy, etc. She knows. She’s 80 and she’s had type II diabetes since her fifties. Sometimes she’s good with her diet - sometimes not. She has ended up in the hospital several times because her blood sugar is too low because the doctor would increase her meds after her blood work. Now that he gets the daily reports and sees that its okay in the morning, he didn’t increase her meds but he was very unhappy about it. And I asked him about her cholesterol. Some of my mom’s problems sound like some of the side effects of Lipitor. She’s on 40 mg. He looked back in her chart, said it was good. So I asked him if we could cut back on that. She’s now on 10mg.
We took them to lunch and then Walmart. They have some nice elastic waist jeans and khakis that come in a 2 X petite - so I don’t have to shorten them!!! On sale for $16. And capris and tops. We stocked up. I straightened up their apartment. Helped DM try on one clothes. They all fit. I thought of all of us Golden Girls as I pluck out her chin hairs…I did her toenails too. Getting her ready for Easter. I don’t have a daughter - who is going to pluck out my chin hair? I think I’m going to put that in a living will or something. “Must check patient for mustache and chin hair once a week and remove.” LOL!
I am hosting Easter. Just found out today that there will be 14 of us! I do all of the holidays. I don’t usually have more than my immediate family for Easter but I started inviting more people and they all accepted. My younger DS is coming in from D.C. on Friday. I think it’s going to be fun. I don’t have to do any of the clean up. That’s when I get to play with my great nieces who are 3 and 8.
I would be interested in hearing from those on statins for their cholesterol and how they feel on them.
Sorry this is so long. I guess I needed to vent a little. Hope you all are having a great evening.
hey....just had to tell you all we just chased a hugh armadillo across the lawn and into the canal. He was digging a big hole right under the living room windows. He has a headache now and suspect he won't return here. Maybe even become gator bait...the canal is all seawalls and he'll come ashore over in the preserve! Just perfect.
yeaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome back Karen...we all missed you alot.
Deelee venting is one of the best things about GG...Vent away. Maybe we should plan on getting up a chin hair posse for future hairy problems.
Taking about 10 days off from bridge. Partner is going to Cal and I chose not to find other partners. Gonna lazy about. I'll be back tomorrow to do personals. k3
