Just popping in quickly before bed. Welcome Shimmers! You'll love it here!!

Yesterday, I was driving home from class, and it was raining, and I got a flat tire. I couldn't get the lug nuts off my tire, so I could put the spare on, and was stranded on the side of the road in the rain. Chivalry is dead, I tell you! People simply honked at me as they drove by...nice huh? And then someone stopped, and said he'd help me for $20 no less.....what the HECK?! Ugh! Luckily, I finally got ahold of someone, and was able to get it taken care of. Just really irked me!

Staying OP, and exercising a little bit. I'm feeling still quite stiff, so I'm taking it easy, and not even going to the gym, just doing little exercises around the house.

Night all!

Good morning!

Thanks for the welcomes, and the advice. This seems like a very supportive board - hope you don't mind if I stick around for awhile!

Hiya Peeps,

I am still OP, but my period has kept me from losing for the past 10 days. Up a pound, down a pound every other day. It's very annoying to say the least.

Speaking of annoying, geeesh Kaylee! Sorry for the wet cold rainy flat tire and the a$$ that offered to help for money. GEEEEESH. Because I've been in that situation before (minus the a$$), I keep a cross bar lug remover in my trucklet (Rav4). I have yet to have it fail me (although I've run across some lugs that was pushing the limits of the cross bar). I used to put retreads on my old mustang, and that car just ate tires for lunch. I was forever changing tires off the highway. I got pretty good at it!

Welcome to Shimmers and Mainah! Just jump right in. Don't worry about personals. Just tell us what's happening right now with ya.

Realist!!! My sweet unlurking lurker.. I'm glad to see you posting a lot!!! Note to the other lurkers: see? If Realist can do it, so can you.

My bicycle is tuned up and home. BikerChick (my alterego) has spotted the Spring Psychosquirrels around the neighborhood. She's itching to get out and ride to claim the road as her own before the squirrels set up bicycle traps and the like.

Annie, a reese's egg with a bite out of it.. ick! Maybe your guardian angel did that for you. You look fabbo girlie!!

Litchick, thanks for the book recommendation. I've been reading a lot lately about eating dysfunction. One that was recently recommended was "Will I Ever Be Good Enough?" Healing the daughters of narcissistic mothers. Because I've forgiven my parents for many things I perceived that happened while growing up, this book doesn't really address the origins of my stress eating. It's an interesting read, however! Well written and focused not on blame, but healing.

GGG, I'm looking for a wh00sh too. I feel I'm entitled to it because I've been OP during my period the entire time. My body feels otherwise. One day, we'll be on the same page (my body and I). I miss Battle too.

Hugs to all that I didn't get to... sharon, heather, mommyof4, Debbie, deb, emily, DC, jacquie, Ammie, Catherine and the lurking roosters.

I'm just hoping Catherine's last expedition to the grocery store didn't get her frozen to the sidewalk. I'd send some Spring weather up there, but that'd just make things icy/muddy and more slippery!

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

Things are very slippery here. Melts during the day, and refreezes when the sun goes down. Anyway, I fell yesterday. First time in 17 months, and I fell hard on the concrete. I always have my backpack on, so if I fall backwards, my head can not hit, so that saved me that, but it does make kind of a whiplash. I'm really too sore and bruised to move much at this point. The biggest issue is the fear. Fear of the pain is almost worse than the pain. I was up almost all night last night re-living it over and over again. I am officially grounded from walking the sidewalks until they are clear and clean and dry. By next winter we will have a car so that I do not have to walk very far when it is slippery. I walk on them all the time, but last night I was tired. Normally I can catch myself, especially with the flip down spikes on my crutch, but the ice was just glaze that my spikes couldn't dig into. I'm think I'm still in a state of shock.

Kayleystar, what a rotten thing to happen to you! Yay for you for not letting it get you off program. (I fell in love with my dh over a flat tire -- I wish yours could have been better. )

Mainah, we can be newbies here together!

Ratkity, good luck in the coming days staying OP and seeing results. I resent that TOM when my body feels terrible and holds on to everything, but afterward, my body usually makes up for it. What is hard for me is a plateau where I lose 7 pounds in a month and regain 5 during TTOM. Argh.

Catherine, owwww! What a fall! You’re right – the hours afterward, reliving it, are the worst. I have a ‘footy’ (a rice-filled cloth bag with a fleece cover) I warm in the microwave that does wonders for aches and bruised. Hope you have something comforting, too.

Well, it’s going to be a busy weekend here, clearing out my cousin’s house to get it ready for (hopeful) sale. If I stay OP, it should be a good one for burning calories.

Rat - I'm making your taco soup tomorrow - a half batch. Think ground turkey will work?

Catherine - please take care of yourself (and let Himself help).

Had a great day and waiting for daughter and son in law to get home with the wedding pictures from the photographer.

Hiya Peeps!

I'm sorry you fell, Catherine. ow ow ow. Good you have a backpack to save that melon of yours. I take it you fell backwards.

GGG, ground turkey will be just fine! Make sure you still drain it after you brown it.

Shim, cleaning house to get it ready for a sale.. ugh. I don't envy you. I can hardly keep my house in order.

deb, I'm gonna try to keep it together this weekend too.

Hugs to all,
Rat

Hello everyone! <slinks back in the room>
I know it has been a very very long time since I have been here. It is great however to see some familiar faces and some fresh new chicks as well.

It has been at least 6 months if not longer since I have been here to chat. Not much has happened weight loss wise in that time. It is still a struggle as it always will be but it is time to recommit myself to my journey as well as to you all wonderful friends.

I am a member of TOPS now and as of next Tuesday, starting the SB diet again. It was the one lifestyle change that really worked originally for me and I think it is what I will try again. The first time I lost 89lbs in 5.5 months following it. It may not have the same results this time but its worth a shot.

for those that do not know or remember me, my name is brenda and i am 34yr old. There is more information on the bios page from a while back.

That is it for tonight. I cant wait to catch up with you all but before I go, one thing. Annie, one word. WOWZERS!!!

Kayley: So sorry that no body would stop and help you. Hugs. That sucks!

Rat: Thanks. I'm sure when TOM is over things will be sliding away from your bod!

Catherine: Hugs

Debi: Hi ya

Brenda: Welcome back!!! So glad to see you girl. I'm glad that you are starting back on Southbeach. You did so well at it.

Another grind of a day today at work. I worked 12 hours and was the first one there and the last one to leave by over an hour each time! Oh well. I'm happy it is the weekend at least.

Blessings all,
Annie

((((Catherine)))) take care of yourself, falls are scary. I have a fear of falling myself, having taken a bad bad spill down a flight of steep stairs a few years ago.

Good Morning!

Have you all acheived your goals this week? I had one poor food choice day. But I got in the exercise, and had 6 on plan days! With a side of my water quota! Yeah ME! Yeah You!

This morning went to the farmers market. And I passed the bakery and bought some great bread! No sweets. And then spent the $5 saved on sweets on some beautiful yellow daisies! My house is on its way to being cleaned up and spelling spring fresh! Once I am done my taxes (goal monday) I will be tackling the storage closet and then every nook and cranky will be tip top!

Hugs to y'all!

Hi ladies. I'm still lurking. I've had a lot of swelling in my leg so I haven't been up and around as much as I'd like to be. I've gained some, but won't really know how much of it is from the swelling until it goes down. I haven't been eating very well, partly because I can't do my own grocery shopping and can't stand very long to cook, but mostly because I just haven't been trying. Today I finally decided to lay something out for lunch and dinner, so it's a step in the right direction.

I need to go lay down so not many personals, but I am reading and sending support to everyone!

Catherine, I hope you're feeling okay & not too sore today. The fear of the pain is definitely worse sometimes - especially after you've already had a bad fall before!

Annie, you're looking gorgeous as always! You are such an inspiration!

Kayley, that's one of my biggest fears. Thank goodness you finally got in touch with someone who could help you.

I feeling better today. The various swellings are going down. I got an early birthday present in the mail. A white and pink ladies baseball hat from my alma mater. Our colors are orange and black, but this is definitely more feminine. I struggle with feeling that way so I wear lots of brightly colored hats. At least my head feels like it is Spring even if my front lawn doesn't.
