I weighed this morning, down a pound. Jessie walked/jogged with me this morning. It was so funny. He can blow me away jogging but when it comes to walking I leave him in the dust. He really helped me a lot. Jogging outside is so different from the treadmill. Needless to say I was reminded rather quickly how out of shape I truly am. I only made 3 tenths of a mile before I had to start walking. I did one other short spurt and then walked the other mile and a half. I was feeling pretty bummed about it but Jessie was so sweet. He was telling me what a good job I did.

Ellen...how cool about church. It is always nice to find old friends. I like spicy so the spicier sauce sounds good.

Mercee..You are so right. I love the ladies in this group so much. Ya'll are like an extension of my family. We have been through cancer, babies being born, weddings, sons in the military, weight up, weight down, weight up again. I would not trade one of ya'll for a million bucks.

Toni..what are you up to this fine day? Are you getting that cold front that we are suppose to get this weekend? I'm looking forward to the mid 60's at night. The house will finally start to cool off.

Solly..I hope that not hearing from you is a good thing. Are you getting some rest, feeling better? Praying that you are. Miss you lady.

Trying to decide what to eat for lunch before it turns supper time. There is just nothing that is catching my fancy this afternoon. Oh well I guess that means I'm not hungry enough yet.

    ((Everybody))

    God bless,
    Crystle
  • Afternoon! My neighbor who is in hospice care at home now is not doing well. Her sister told me she has not been lucid for two days now, she just mumbles and never makes any sense. She hurts so badly all over that she can't stand to be moved. I will go down tomorrow. Her niece was coming this afternoon with her husband to sit with her for a while. I thought it was best to stretch it out some.

I spent over an hour on the phone chatting with my friend who is caring for her elderly mother on the west coast. AND I went and got a picture frame and mailer so I can send the portrait I did of a friend's daughter to her. Then I realized that my printer is not working. GRRRR. So I will have to take it to UPS or USPS and pay for it. Just so much easier to do it online.

I am going to make salmon for dinner tonight. I don't care for it, but Tom is crazy about it. I like fish, but have never been crazy about salmon...not sure why.

I worked on my painting some more. Its shaping up...I need to photo it and send it to my teacher and get her to critique it. That always helps. Also, something about the photographing of it helps show errors...hard to explain, but they show up better in a photo.

Ok, so this morning, my blood glucose levels were well in the target range again, AND I hopped on the scale and I was down three. Huh? I am NOT claiming it until I see that on Wednesday morning! I took Mercola's Nutritional Typing test and it says my metabolic type is NOT carb, so being a vegetarian is not the optimal diet for me, I am a protein type so I need to eat lean, clean proteins and veggies. Ok. gonna go for it.... I added proteins back in four days ago and if my morning bg is any indicator, this is a good idea.

    Off to do some chores!
  • Happy afternoon all. I seem to be lazy today. Am thawing out some veggie beef soup I had in the freezer for dinner. This afternoon I had a skinny bagel toasted with peanut butter on it. Then some almonds for a snack. Today is the last of the hot weather. Can't wait to have some cooler stuff. I just want a break from the heat.

Ellen- That's so good your neighbor is home. I hope she gets to enjoy her last days there. Its such a shame she has to be in pain. You've been busy with the portrait. Bet the woman will be glad to get it. I thought that was so funny about the couple you tricked. Bet they were so surprised that they already knew You and Tom.

Crystle- Good for you down a lb. And getting a nice walk/jog in. Hopefully when it gets cooler I will walk more. I just can't stand this heat.

Mercee- Hope your meatloaf turned out good. I may have to make a leftover dinner out of mine. Unless DH gets busy with some sandwiches.

Solly- I hope the surgeon visit was successful. You sure need some better days.

Well off to finish watching Doctor Oz. He's a wealth of information.
  • Dinner tonight was simple and good. I made salmon in papiotte. That is where you make a packet of the salmon and some seasonings and veggies and wrap it in parchment paper, then bake it. It was pretty good. Along with the salmon, I made a spinach salad with feta cheese and toasted walnuts, and a lemon garlic dressing. I finished it off with a raw carrot, but I wish I had skipped the carrot. I am now feeling rather stuffed, and I think I would have felt better with just the salmon and salad.

I should go unload the dishwasher, but I feel so tired now I would like to skip it. I kind of crash around 9 and I suppose I ought to just plan on going to bed when I do....but Tom was late tonight so we finished dinner late. I will be glad when his release is over and we can go back to our usual schedule.

  • I was kind of hoping to see a post from Solly today... worried about her.
  • Hello! I really like talking to myself.

Another good morning for blood glucose levels. yay! thanks for the encouragement, and most importantly, the prayers.

I am going to have a busy day tomorrow helping my daughter at a craft fair. I am hoping and praying her sales are good. She has worked SO hard...and her jewelry is beautiful.

    Talk to you all later!
  • Howdy
Wow the board went way quiet! Awesome on the numbers Ellen!!

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • Sorry I've been so lazy. Its a beautiful morning today. Nice and cool. I had to shut the fan off in the bedroom early this morning. Steve was freezeing. We watched movies last night so slept in late this morning. Enjoying coffee right now.

Ellen- Your salmon sounded wonderful. I'll have to try and cook it that way. Thats so good about your blood levels. Have fun at the craft sales. Sounds like your daughter has talent like you...

Crystle- Hows your weather? Hows the walking going?

Mercee- Are you still working Sat. ?

Solly- Where are you? I'm worried about you.

Well back to the coffee and poking around the computer.
  • Hi ladies, Ihad started a post on Friday ad then my boss had to reboot the computers so I had to get off and then I had to leave to get an echocardigram of my heart. The echo was fine and so was my heart. The MRi showed I had a stroke (most likely in the brain stem). It is the best stroke you can have. Apparently, it is a time thing. Don't know how long it will take to get better, days or weeks or months. I have been trying to res
rsearch it but can't find anything then again I am not internet savy either.
I am having trouble remembering if I asked a question or told you something. I wear out easily and need to lay my head down. It occurred in the back of my head. Still can't drive and can't downs.

    Not much on posts today.

Congrats to al the losers, I am so disgusted with myself. Went to Penney's today to find a dress for a wedding on Friday and I am so fat. I am going to try to walk a little tonight.

Toni, I just bought some of those skiiny bagels at the store today. It is cool here also, Liking it.

Ellen, I hope the craft show was a success.

    Crystle,

    Mercee: wave:

More posts tomorrow, just wanted to update you guys.
  • Oh my gosh Solly I'm so sorry. What a thing to have happen. Is that the cause of the dizzyness? My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  • The craft fair was a bust. The organizer made out like a bandit I am afraid. The booth fee was kind of high in my opinion, and she SAID she advertised aggressively, but there were no signs, or ads that anyone saw. She probably pocketed a good bit of it. It was the same weekend as a very large established fair near me so attendance was nil. My daughter made a few sales, but in the long run, she lost money. I ended up sitting with her both days. I am kind of tired.

My neighbor's sister is comatose. She has been unresponsive since Friday afternoon now. It most likely will not be much longer.

SOLLY: Oh, my heavens! I am so glad you at least know what is wrong, and can work towards dealing with it. Praying for you. Take it easy on yourself... We all love you and want to see you get better. I will do a little research and see if I can find anything. I am a bit savvy in online research....if I can find some good pages with info I will pass them on.

  • Praying for comfort of the family and friends of your neighbor. Thats so sad.
  • Good morning! Its raining here. I wish I had no place to go, as sitting at home when its raining is just lovely. Driving in the stuff is not my fav thing to do.

I am about to suit up and head over to the pool for class. After class, I am going right over to pick up a friend of mine and we are going to the big farmer's market for lunch and to shop. I have a long list of stuff to get!

I found a local farm near my daughter's house that sells raw goat and cow milk. Its supposed to be much better for you, as pasteurization kills enzymes that help digest it. I am interested in trying it. There is a fantastic coop that sells local produce close to her house too. Lucky thing! But then she is not very interested! I am thinking about joining the coop. You can order what you want, so it is not like CSAs that bring you a box and you have to figure out what to do with the stuff they send.

I need to go get ready for class! Will check in later!

  • Good morning
We woke to some beautiful weather this morning. It is still only 70 degrees out. I had hoped to walk earlier but the phone and chores called.

Solly...((hugzz)) Sorry it took them so long to figure out what was wrong but glad you know. Just focus on getting well. The rest of things will fall into place when you are feeling stronger.

Ellen...I am so sorry for your neighbors. I remember when Robert's daddy passed. He was comatose with his eyes opened and it was very sad. Praying for the family as they say good bye. WTG getting out to the aqua center.

Toni...Hope this is the start of a GREAT week.

    Mercee...

Hope ya'll have a super week full of good healthy foods.

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • Hi ladies, I have been very busy all day. I felt good this morning but working really makes me dizzy. I guess it is the computer screen back and forth to the desk. It is 3:30 and I am worn out and ready to go home and sit. I cannot button my pants so I had to start again today. Eating has been good so far. I am just going to keep it at 1300 calories and eat what I like b/c there isn't much good I like now. My feet are all swollen, but I have taken 3 water pills today but did not take them this weekend. Don't know what's up with that.

Ellen, I would love for you to do some research. Don't kow if I told you (b/c I can't remember a thing) But it is some type of vestibular stroke. I couldn't find much except in dogs. I just want to know how long it can last. Prayers for your neighbor, it shouldn't be long now at least I hope not. That is a shame about the craft fair. You never know what happened. You send some rain my way too, My grass is straw and full of weeds. We need rain badly.

Toni, yes, the stroke part of my brain that affects balance and coordination. It could have been a lot worse so time will tell.

Crysle, It is so nice here also, but we need rain. Have a nice day. I am going to try to walk some tonight.
