They actually came out with a chocolate PB2 in the past year or so...
I saw that! I haven't tried the chocolate but thought it sounded really good! I made mine up as pb and used it on celery or toasted sprouted bread. Once in a while, I did add it to my protein drinks, back then, as a replacement for my omega oil and for variety. For me it was a great low fat no carb option. I haven't used it yet but, look forward to adding it in the future.

This is not a normal part of my diet and I am hypothryoid - so don't know if this is a good thing or not. I guess back to "eat a wide variety" of foods. That is rather difficult on IP Phase I, and I'm trying to keep a balance of trace minerals and vitamins.
My coach substituted vitamins from her health food store to use with the program, but I'm scared to use them because they are unlabeled and I have no idea how much Vitamin A and other in them! So I stick with Centrum Silver (that advises right on the bottle NOT to take any additional Vitamin A supplements with Centrum), and Citracal. I'm just not into health food store products - unregulated and scary to me! One of the pills I received was called "Old Amish" vitamin - one can only guess!
If you are hypothyroid, as I am, it is highly possible you don't have enough iodine in your body. Can you call your doctor's office and find out where your iodine stands based on recent blood labs. In general, what I have found, was best summarized in The New England Journal of Medicine when it published new research from China that looked at the relationship between iodine intake and thyroid disease. The June 29, 2006 issue noted the researchers concluded that "more than adequate or excessive iodine intake may lead to hypothyroidism and autoimmune thyroiditis."
There is also an accompanying editorial by Dr. Robert Utiger, which says that "the small risks of chronic iodine excess are outweighed by the substantial hazards of iodine deficiency,".
There is a definite reason to be caution though! The studies have found that if you have a tsh of 2 or greater and show antithyroid antibodies that increasing iodine can actually cause a CONTINUED state of hypothyroidism rather than an improvement.
I spoke with my doctor and have found that my body needs a low level of iodine supplementation. I was much lower in selenium though that iodine so I take a fair amount of selenium each day. I have seen in my blood labs that my hypothyroid activity is returning to an almost normal range in the past 6 months.

i am doing this for me and will continue until i am undeniably happy
It is such a confusing topic! Many people don't get enough information about the difference in bmi (something used more by insurance actuaries) and the Body fat percentage range (used for health). In fact, because it is "easier" a lot of Drs are relying too much on a bmi which can be very inaccurate as it doesn't account for muscle weight versus fat weight. As we all know, it is the fat that is so detrimental to our health!
Did you know that misses and juniors sizing is different by about 1 size? There is quite a bit of change for the ready to wear industry as far as sizing. A girls size 14, a juniors size 1, a misses 25 or size 0 ARE ALL the same measurements. If you were a size 7/8 juniors then you were a size 6 misses. PROVIDED those sizes were worn with in the past decade. There were some sizing changes that took place about 20 years ago. We also have had a huge change in sizing in the past decade as we outsource to India and China where, if an inexperienced buyer fails to state measurements and orders by size alone, will get a size fitted for that countries measurements. It explains why some womens XL seems so small these days!

So, I challenge us all, when we are considering eating something that we are not so sure about, or that we know we shouldn't, ask ourselves if this is good for our overall health, not only our weight.
Thank you for such a good reminder! It is truly a great, and healthy, way to look at and have a relationship with, food!

You've been missed! I am so happy to see you! I so hope everything goes smoothly for you in the wedding corner, you deserve it!
If you have the time, I have a question... training related. I want to go back to strength training, and my trainer is dying to get my back at it. Unfortunately, he is a real boot camp marshall!

I love it but, he keeps my heart rate pumping, no breaks really between sets. For instance, I will go from a lat pull down to a bench dip or mountain climbers and back again. THE QUESTION... how do I tell him I am interested in some muscle training but, I need to keep the heart rate low. He is convinced he knows better and is ready to "push back" for me to the IP people telling them they are wrong to exclude exercise. OR, do I not even bother, just do light cardio, gentle yoga, and some light weights on my own? I have been training with weights since 1985 so I more or less know how to use all the equipment, and what exercises to work in what order for my muscles. I have had a trainer most of the time since 1992 (1992-94, 96-99, 2000-2002, 2005-2009). The biggest reason was to have an appointment at the gym I wasn't inclined to skip and to have someone to push me when I wanted to call it a day.

I am sorry to hear you had to attend funeral/memorials. It is good to know that you managed to keep to the program during such a sad/emotional event!

I am so sorry for the loss of your Aunt. How great that others were so complimentary of your success! I am sure they will be equally impressed in two months!
