Hey IPers---

Quick HI from my parents in MASS. It is weird. My family noticed right away I lost 24lbs and they have been totally supportive and helpful. Kinda of surprising. I have been going out to dinner alot and doing pretty well. Last night was maybe the first dinner that was not so great for me. The place wasnt as accomodating as others.

I also went to a clinic near my parents and the lady was FAB. She lost 140lbs on IP u would never know she was big before. She let me buy indivdual packets (my place doesnt do that) so i was like a kid in a candy store. She even weighed me just to get a idea of how i might be doing since I am gone for a bit.

So I am hanging in there and having fun seeing family and friends which is nice. So far no snow here which I am thrilled.

JIG---great news on ur raise and weight loss.

All the best to everyone else and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Luccilove-Sounds like you are having a great time! Did you buy some single packets to take home? So glad that your family has been supportive, it makes things so much easier. I am happy that we haven't had snow yet too!

Hello fellow IP'ers! I am in a fantastic mood Feel like singing ever word instead of talking hahaha I tried a ketostix this morning just to see (usually it takes me 4 days so I was thinking maybe tomorrow Friday for sure) but I was surprised by a nice dark color!!!! Which means I'm back to burning fat!! Yay!! I was also surprised this morning by a visit that I wasn't expecting for another 9 days Last month I was a full week late and this month a full week early ?!?! Oh well. I just hope it doesn't mess with the scale to much. But I am not holding my breath. I have managed to stay of the scale but after seeing the ketostix I really want to step on lol But I will have will power and stay away till weigh in Monday

Hope you all are having a wonderful day! Happy Turkey prepping to you all

That mixture or the strawberry banana drink with spinach or kale is my breakfast every day. I add a tablespoon of chia seeds for omega 3s and fiber. Good stuff!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the US IP-ers! We have come so far. I am so grateful to be celebrating this holiday with 30 less pounds and lower blood pressure. I wish you a day filled with wonderful moments and the power to stay on your plan for the day.

Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Luccilove: Your post was fantastic news and I loved that your family is being supportive, it definitely helps.

So I didn't go hog wild today and it was actually quite easy! We had a TON of food but I just took a can of green beans, warmed them up and had some turkey. Then I had a couple deviled eggs...I took almost all of the yolk out, just enough to get a taste. Then I ate 3 green olives and two black. Overall, considering what was actually there...I feel pretty damn good!!

On a funny note, I've been reading so much about people not supporting shopping today so businesses won't keep employees away from their families. So I left some clothes back home that I meant to bring with me. Specifically, my jeans! So I thought, I would stop by the mall and pick some up. HOLY COW!!! I have never seen so many people in my life!!!! I drove right back out of there and came back to my folks house. I have never seen anything like it! So I guess all the posts about not supporting shopping today were completely ignored.

Hi everyone,

100% OP! Did have a couple cups of coffee, so I am drinking more water now. Such a nice day. After speaking with my SIL yesterday, I figured out that there would only be turkey and green beans, so I made curry zucchini soup, garlic cauliflower mash and mushroom celery purée with stuffing spices. It was fine.

It was one of the best Thanksgivings that I have ever had. Wonderful to sit and talk with my nieces and nephews.(all in there 20s)

Airportchick, what did your family say when they saw you? No shopping is worth the lines. Are you having a nice visit?

Claustin, how did you make out?

I managed to stay on plan this week!! Yay me!! My kids were in a mood last night, its TOM, I had a migraine, the list goes on, BUT I went to bed haha 8:30 and I was asleep! lol But it helped. It kept me out of the kitchen, and healed my headache. I had 3 Fat free Turkey Sausages with Broc/Cauli for supper and it was very filling. I am feeling good so far today. Had 2 egg whites and hot choc for breakfast with a bottle of water and I am not feeling hungry yet (its been almost 2 hours) Hopefully this will be a "less Hungry" kinda day

Glad to hear everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Way to go for having such will power

Hi all,

Put up the tree today, changed the dining room to Christmas, but still so much to do. Majority of my Christmas shopping is done, like to space out the $$.

Claustin, great job at resisting, sorry that you did not feel good. My mama always says -rest is best.

Weigh In for me tomorrow morning, not sure how it will go (TOM).

Hope the rest of you are having fun!

Hi Slipfree, congrats on staying OP for Thanksgiving! All of your dishes you mentioned sound awesome...can you post those or email them to me? It would be much appreciated as I'm always looking to switch up my foods.

Since my family lives so far away, I did not participate in Thanksgiving this year aside from having a small dinner party last weekend. I cooked IP stuff for my friends, but had some brie with some jams and crackers out as not to be a complete buzz kill. I had a couple of pieces of brie, with sour cherry spread from Whole Foods (omg it was so good!) and a few glasses of wine, but dinner was OP. I still lost about 3 lbs at the last weigh in and stayed in ketosis (according to my Ketostix). Side note though, the wine gave me a HUGE headache, I think my body got angry with me. :

It was fun and I'm glad I indulged a little bit. I realize cheating can be controversial on these boards and that I was lucky I didn't go off of ketosis, not lose that week, etc. I hope I haven't offended anyone by talking about cheating and not feeling bad about it. That evening is actually a major milestone for me behavior-wise because 2 months ago I would have splurged the whole day and eaten/drank a lot more and would have gotten fast food/take out the next day to cure my hangover/wine headache.

Kookysuki,

Zucchini Curry Soup
makes 4 servings

2 zucchinis (I did 4c by weight)
salt (I used the IP salt)
pepper
garlic powder
1 clove garlic
curry powder of choice (I used a mix, any would work)
ginger powder (optional)
cayenne (optional)
16oz NF chicken stock

Slice your zucchinis into half moons and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. A good generous shake of each should do. Measure 1/4tsp if you prefer to measure.

Sautee them in a dutch oven or soup pot until they are good and soft (softer than if you were eating them plain). Mince your garlic and add it for the last minute or so. This will keep the garlic from getting too done, but you do want it to cook a little.

Add your chicken stock to the zucchini and allow the mixture to come to a simmer, then stir in your curry powder. I used just shy of a tablespoon of my favorite curry mix which is called Malaysian Ginger Curry, but plain curry powder and some other Indian spices (like garam masala, cayenne, tumeric, etc) would work. Use what you have.

Yesterday, I added chicken stir fried in garlic olive oil, mushrooms, spinach and fresh grated ginger. It made a very hearty soup and was filling!

Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin

2 pound Pork Tenderloin
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1 TBS Yellow Mustard
2-3 TBS WF maple syrup
2 TBS olive oil
2 TBS Diced dried onions
1 1/2 TSP Garlic Salt or Powder
Mix ingredients above. Pour over Tenderloin in the crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours.

Zucchini Muffins ala Lisa

1 IP packet (I use lemon/banana pudding, wild berry yogurt, maple oatmeal or potato puree, for potato rolls)

1 egg white (I use from the carton)
pinch salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 c (from raw) shredded zucchini, lightly sauteed in 1 tsp oil

Whip egg whites with salt until frothy but not peaked
stir in remaining ingredients
Let sit 10 minutes for baking powder to activate
Spray non stick muffin tin before filling 3 regular sized muffins. Do NOT use papers!
Bake 350 approx 20 mins (baking time may vary depending on oven)
They will fall a bit upon cooling.

I usually make 4 batches at once, to fill a one dozen muffin pan.

Makes a great breakfast, lunch (esp potato rolls) or snack AND includes 1 c veggies!

Cauliflower "Hummus" Dip
1 head of cauliflower, chopped (I used an extra head already roasted from the night before)
Chicken stock
Juice of half a lemon, or more to taste
2 tsp. olive oil
1 tbsp Roasted garlic (raw is fine if that's what you have)
Salt and pepper to taste
Spices to taste (I often use Za'atar, sumac, hot sauce)
Fresh herbs to taste

If your cauliflower is raw, put in a pan with about 1/2 cup of the chicken stock. Bring to a boil, and then simmer covered until the cauliflower is very tender. Allow to cool.

Into a blender or food processor, add the cauliflower, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and some salt and pepper. If you like, add in spices and/or some fresh herbs -- rosemary would be tasty, for example, as would some hot chilis. I really like za'atar and sumac, which are middle eastern spices.
Add in just enough chicken stock to allow the processor/blender to move freely. Whip up until it's a very smooth puree. Taste and adjust spices. When serving later, retaste and adjust spices as needed. I added a touch more salt and a little more garlic.

Hi all,

Just got back from Weigh In- down 5.8 pounds and 28 inches total. Blood Pressure 106/74, on the day I started it was 140/90. Averaging 3.5 pounds a week. Pretty happy since it is TOM.

Out to dinner tonight to a place that is easy to stay OP.

Kooky, I julienne my zucchini for the soup. I like to pretend it is noodles
I also use Dijon mustard for my pork and chicken recipes, but be careful which brand because the carb count varies.

As for staying OP, I know myself. I am not good with little changes. The only thing that temps me is wine, but I have a weird body chemistry so I would be the one that gets loaded on one glass. Even my family and BF agreed after I told them what the clinic said about possible side effects.
