I love a good joke, tasteless, gross, dirty , whatever as long as it is funny. But the one about the baby was totally disgusting, sorry Athenda, gotta tell the truth.

You are quite the intuitive lady! You figured out my philosophy using only two of my posts: I cannot live without laughter.
Laughter helps the medicine go down...and there are some HIDEOUSLY vile tinctures we "larger than life" women are tempted to swallow simply because Society tells us, "it's good for you."
Laughter is a camouflage suit hiding hard truths from us until we can bear for them to JUMP out of the bushes and ambush us with their realities. (Sort of like Guerilla Warfare for Girthy Girls!) Laughing is trooping off to the fat wars wearing a smiley face to mask the hurts and slights that disenfranchise us from the slim world. (But only until we are strong enough to defy anyone who dares mock or ridicule us because of our size. Genuine laughter NEVER hurts or victimizes.)
But most important, laughter is that sparkling, bubbling, happy sound that gurgles up from deep within us when we finally realize that we are perfect just as we are, worthy and deserving of unconditional love. Laughter is the "Hallelujah Chorus" sung in one part harmony when a Golden Girl realizes she is already 24 karat and that if she choses to lose weight she will simply be gilding the lily.
I am not acting the fool or playing at being a Totie Fields when I make silly remarks and laugh out loud (not at, but with others.) No...what I'm doing is reconstructive surgery--the painfull rebuilding of myself--under the gentle general anesthesia of humor, smiles, and laughter.
Thank you again, Karen, for acknowledging my love of lauhter as a good trait in me. (Though I promise to tone it down here at 3Cs.) Love your puppy pics--and now I'm off to find your elusive thread--or is it a needle in a haystack that I am after?!
