  • Rat: Where can I get the Primal at? is that the one you said before that is at the health food store?
  • Yup Cyn, I get it at my local Organic/Natural market in the refrigerated section. It can be stored at room temp, but I think it's better in the frig.

    Hugs,
    Ratkity

  • Life is a minefield. There are calories lurking EVERYWHERE.

I have food in my apartment and I can't stop eating it. This is why I try to only have enough food for one day in my fridge at a time.

I miss the Internet. I'm broke. I'm bored, lonely, anxious. But, c'est la vie.

    Miss you guys.

I finished my spare room, will take some pics later!

Annie - That's so exciting about new opportunities! I think yo're amazing! I don't know about listening to sermons during exercise though! I need fast music!

basketcase - Ugh, McDonald's is my weakness. I worked there for 6 years, and it is serious comfort food.

Rat - Did you ge the AC on? I have it for the first time in a loooong time and I'm loving it!

    xoxoxo
  • Pink, no AC on yet. I'm hanging in there. Probably until sleeping time is in the 80s.

    Hugs,
    Ratkity
  • ALRIGHTY then....

Here is how my day went..

1st Dr appt with my reg Dr. She didnt understand why on earth my heart Dr wanted her to "wing" me off the athenol. She said just stop taking them. If the palpatations come back..start them again and call her.

2nd Dr appt with GI Dr...
She seems nice and knowledgeable. She was recommended to me by a friend at work. She is doing another Upper GI to make sure nothing has changed in a year. The first thing she asked me was i seeing a Dr for my thyroid..I said yes every 6 months. Then she asked me If I get full right after eating i said yes..even if it is a few chips or water..or a big ole steak. She is doing the test to see if my stomach is emptying slowly. Maybe that is it. That is kinds what my regular Dr said with using digestive enzymes. My friends sister who I talked to about the herbalife has the same problem...

Rat: I have had my AC on since April lol..I think it was 101 here today
MAYBE for once..I will have some answers. Here's to hoping
  • I'm away for the weekend, folks. Graduation is today, and once I get through that I'm heading home for a couple days of swimming and chilling out. Gotta get out of the city. Love you all!
  • Happy Rainy Friday all,

Carol: Glad that your pool party is coming up! I know you enjoy it so and all of your friends look forward to it. My poor babies do that too when I go away. Pepper has been around long enough to know when the suitcases come out she starts to hover!

Rat: I doooo like the torture of math and exercise. lol. No, it is an OCD thing. lol. I kind of like the torture of hard muscle workout though

Cyn: Congrats on your new weight!!! I hope your tummy problems are solved with wonderful results. Next time I give Rusty a hug I will whisper to him it is from you

Catherine: Glad you were able to peak in. Hope your busy life is "fun" busy and not stress busy. Hugs.

Pink: Sorry your internet is down. I would be upset too. I like to listen to sermons when I am on the elliptical cause it kind of reinforces a good thing.... God with another thing I want to think of as good.... the elliptical

Neon: I must have missed it but if you are the one graduating... Huge Congrats. Have a great time away from home!

Lindy: if you are lurking, love and hugs and we sure miss you.

I changed my weight tracker to 235 so I lost 2 pounds this week! It sure comes of slow huh guys? That is okay. As long as it comes off. I really, really have been thinking about BMI and I think that I just want a "normal" BMI reading. My Surgeon says not to worry about that cause BMI readings don't account for how much muscle you have which weighs more than fat and it also doesn't count for extra skin just waiting to be plucked off. lol. But, when I get something in my head... again OCD. It just won't shake loose. lol.

Another update. Schooling. I was all set to sign up for Esthetician school and changed me mind. I know SHOCK! lol. I talked to the Voc Rehab counselor yesterday and she said that I should talk to my heart Doctor cause I haven't talked to this one yet about being a water aerobics instructor/personal trainer yet. If he says I there is a possibility that I can do it then I will go forward with that. Helping other people get healthy and live is my first choice anyway. So, I will continue to search.

It is rainy here so I will be doing inside exercises. Hope you all have a fantastic day and weekend.

    Blessings all,
    Annie
  • Greetings Peeps!

No rain here, Annie. I'm sorta glad that you are thinking very hard about what you really really wanna do when you grow up. hehe. You are such a patient person and good teacher (despite your professed shyness). Even if the water aerobics teaching doesn't work out for you, I just know you'll be directed to find something that you can do.

    Linddddyyyyy - miss ya!

Pink - yay on getting spare room straightened up!

Cyn - did you mean "ween" off angina meds? Yay for weight loss! GERD can get better. Geesh. Especially when weight comes off the diaphragm and stops pushing stomach contents upwards. Ever feel better when you take a little walk after eating a huge meal as opposed to just sitting down? Gets the intestines moving and stops the fat from pressing down on the stomach. I'm hoping the 2nd GI doc takes you seriously and helps you. Man, where you live is too HOT for moi. Why, a southern belle like mahself would just pure-tee melt into a wee puddle! LOL

Neon - happy graduation!! Have a great time relaxing. I love swimming!! I might even brave the local pool and go swimming.

Catherine - hope things are settling down.

GGG - sounds like you had a wonderful time! Have you gotten back to normal? Did your nephew have a great time? I lub pool parties!!

Samie, how you doing? (I hope I got most of your nick right LOL) I'm so bad at nicks.

I'm doing okee dokee. Not looking forward to doing the bizillion chores I have to do outside. Hedges, edging, weeding, weed killing, mowing, picking up after dawgies, dawgie baths, bird cage cleaning, laundry. bah! I wanna go camping again!! LOL.

    Hugs to all,
    Ratkity
  • Back on Track....

Thanks for the greetings. I started a very restrictive eating program last week and about 48 hours into it I was hit with flu like symptoms that really put me down. The doctor could not find anything in my blood-work to explain it. Not bacterial - but she put me on some anti-biotics anyway. i have struggled with tummy problems, severe body aches, chills, nausea etc.

One would think I could follow Dear Old Dad's advice and just "apply some good old southern common sense and eat like a 'normal person'. He has been saying his for 40 years - duh. But my relationship with food is not normal. So I'm thinking and praying about it. I think I'll kind of ease into some firmer foods this weekend and go from there.

CYN - since the anti-biotics keep my digestive tract off balance, my doctor suggested something called DR OHIRAS PROBIOTICS. You might ask your doctor about it. It is supposed to 'balance the good bacteria' or sPIomething like that. I am going to try it. YEA over the weight loss!

PINK - Can't wait to see your spare room. My hubby has agreed to let me turn our guest room into a craft room. As soon as he finishes school he is going to paint it and remove the carpet. That is wise to keep food to a mininum if it is tempting you to overeat!

ANNIE - I am so excited for you - speaking to the doctor's patients shows your potential for touching lives. Sure hope the cardiologist clears you to teach water aerobics - you's be great at it!!!! Hey, can you teach me some movements for WHEN (not IF) I make it in the pool this summer?

THE AC here is on from Feb. on.... but we have not turned on the heater for 2 years. We have been so happy to have the rain. My tomatoes are lovely.

Been watching the oil spill in the gulf. My brother is a captain on a merchant vessel and he just went from Tampa to Mississippi to get coal. He is a big, touch sea captain who has sailed the world and he told his wife he wept for hours after seeing the spill. The oil arrived at our Florida coast today. It is still about 300 miles north of where I am but is still breaking our hearts.

On a positive note, I have finally learned that my eating muffins with butter will not help one oil soaked pelican or an out of work shrimper.

I am weary but will 'catch up' with everyone later.

    Blessings,
    Lindy
  • Rat - the nephew texted me today that he missed me (I'm sure he must want something). He said there are 4 other pharmacy students doing rotations in the same facility - they've done some fun things. Didn't want to ask because his definition of fun is a little more extreme than mine - like sliding down mountains on the seat of your pants - can't remember what it's called - glissading maybe.

Feeling better every day about being home and getting caught up. Food has been POP since I got back - giving myself the weekend to fully recuperate and will hit the exercise routine hard come Monday.
  • G'morning mah Peeps!

I have a bizillion chores to do, but TOM has other ideas.. ugh.

GGG - w00t for nephew saying he missed ya. LOL about fun things. Glad you are having POP days. I have slacked a little on protein amts. I gotta start pushing protein again.

Lindy - good to see you! Oh my, sorry about the virus thingie. I hate being sick. It takes me so long to recover from those things now days. A 24 hr virus was just 24 hrs when I was younger! Not so now.. geesh.

Of all the bugs that munched on me during camping, I didn't get one mosquito bite... until I got home. It's on the top of my foot.. omg, talk about itch! I sprayed some anti-itch stuff on it with minimal success.

Other than TOM cramps, I'm hanging in there. Talk about bad timing!! My yard looks like some trailer trash person moved in. I might even find my car when I mow LOL.

    Hugs,
    Ratkity
  • Rat: LOL yes you would melt here. I HATE it! Summertime makes me and hubby and everyone else in my family grumpy. It was 103 yesterday and all though I work inside just going to my car and getting the A?C to cool it down is a big ordeal. Yes I meant "ween" lol

Lindy: Glad your back..sorry about the virus. YUCK!

GGG: Sounds like you have a great trip!

Annie: sounds like you are figuring school stuff out.

As for me: I have a billion things to do and I will NOT be mad at myself if I dont get them done this weekend.

Interesting thing happened. Thursday i could tell hubby was in a sad/pissy mood. After a few minutes of "nagging" him he finally said I AM REALIZING I AM GETTING OLD. He will be 40 in November. I said old as in age..or old as in have not done things in life you wanted to. He said both. I guess he looked up the forest ranger jobs and for federal cut off age is 37. I said to him..you can still work with animals..get you A$$ back in school. He has agreed. Right now hubby works as a detention officer and I have seen it make him become a bitter person. Hubby is not that way..but working with criminals all day will turn any good person in a bitter one.

Hubby also HATES living here. Summertime is the worst for us and just makes us hate it even more. He is going to visit his sister in Alabama in August and he will be talking about moving again. I don't know how I would do there. I know the kids will not go. They would be ok if we moved to Colorado. I HATE making decisions...especially when I do not know if they are right or wrong.
  • Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted. My sister died in April and I'm just now getting myself together (after gaining 20 pounds). I did great yesterday sticking to my meal plan & exercising. My only problem was the hunger pain in the evening. I started school in September and I'm almost finished so it's time to get ready to join the workforce. I can't see myself being able to stand up all day and work and my back hurts when I walk a couple blocks.
  • Hi Everyone,

I always read the weekly threads although I haven't posted in them. You all have such interesting lives and mine seems kinda dull by comparision.

Anyway, as I was reading this week I kept seeing people say that they missed Lindy. I couldn't figure out who that was so I had to backtrack and find out. I am glad I did!

Lindy - I just wanted to say that I have been thinking about you for the last couple of days and sending good thoughts your way. I am sorry that you have a virus (or whatever it is ) and hope you are feeling better soon.

    Have a good weekend everyone.
