I see my response has upset you and that was not my intent. I was offering a thought and just as I said, the most important thing is for you and everyone to be safe, happy, and healthy. Sorry my thoughts on the subject upset you. I thought it was okay to express thoughts on the subject to which I had researched and considered for a time period as well. Upsetting you, that was clearly not my intent! I apologize for that.

I'll just keep my WLS thoughts to myself for future reference as to not upset anyone. I guess I think with anything that has risks, like juice feasting which I have done, I think it is supportive and good to talk about all aspects, the good, the bad, and the jiggly. Whatever that means.

jilly- dont leave on my account.I jsut wanted you to know the risk. WE truly almost lost my brother less than a month ago and again within the past week and half. Its a very raw subject with me right now...and i have gotten wonderful support here and at the WLS forum.He had a top surgeon in the nation do his surgery. Just be aware of the risk is all i said and i said it because i dont ever want anyone to go thru what my brother is going thru. However if you have surgery I wish you great success with it!!

Sharon, sorry to hear hubby is sick. Mine's been sick as well and if he doesn't sleep, neither do I from all the tossing and turning. Glad to hear you're OP though and got some exercise in over the weekend.

Jilly, please don't go back in to hiding. I like hearing people's takes on WLS and any other method they have. You have to do what you think is right for you and if this is what it's going to take for you to have a healthy future, I'm right behind you!

As for me, I'm staying OP, exercising more than I usually do, and drinking water, but the weight is not leaving. I don't know if it's TOM or what, but it's sorta getting to me. I'll just keep plugging away though. I want to be out of the 300's AGAIN so bad. We had snow this morning but now it's back to rain. It's so great to be outside because the eagles are just flying around like crazy. This is the time of year when we see them the most and it's just so awesome to see them flying so low and up close. God's little creatures are amazing.

Hello all my favorite chickies!!! I have been awol for awhile.....no weight gain....and this past week I actually lost 2lbs!! not really trying either! LOL go figure....

Over the holidays I was so busy with my Army son home & his gf here the WHOLE time.....(yes a sore subject with me LOL) Now that things have settled down and I'm back at work (cept today....until we thaw out around here LOL) my life is getting back to a routine....

My DD#1 moved home from the dorms....however her campus has a local off campus site here at the community college so she has moved home and now is going to classes locally..........she is much happier as am I!!!

my baby girl (16) started working part time after school & now has her license.....so I was left at home alone in the evenings alot so having my other dd home is nice!

my army son is stationed in Vilseck Germany he left the 29th of Dec and is really enjoying himself out there!

I need to get back into eating right.....as well as doing more exercise.....my older DD wants to lose weight as well so this will be nice to exercise together!

Hope everyone else is doing well and I will try to get back into the swing of things and showing up more often!

I spent my hour in the pool today (and yes Heather I posted it in the exercise thread). The instructor opened up a whole other lap lane just because of me. First off, she wanted me to be able to get deep enough so I could do my exercises without touching bottom. I had been doing the routines 2-3 times as fast as she was going, and still not getting my heart rate up enough, so we are going to try putting me deeper. I sure got a hard work out. My muscles are like jelly right now. I think she also did it because my splashing can be disruptive for the ladies who are just there to stand around and talk. My own little splashing ghetto.

I got my first paper back yesterday, and actually got a good grade. I think that cutting back is a good idea. I'm not in a hurry to finish school, and I'll be a lot happier if I can concentrate and get the grades I want.

I survived the book club. There's nothing like sitting in a room of a couple dozen women, drinking wine, and discussing your life like you're not there. The moderator was very nice, and told them I would answer some questions, but they were not allowed to overwhelm me. Some of them wanted honest to goodness autographs. Good Grief. They loved that I brought pictures of some of the people in the book. They were all asking questions about Fr. Paul. I'm sure he would have found having groupies hilarious. It was mostly exhausting.

Haven't heard anything back on my blood work yet. No news is probably good news. The EKG got read on the spot because the cardiologist happened to be there. He had never met anyone who had been on angina medicine that was able to later quit taking it. When I told him the angiogram had shown that my heart was clean as a whistle with a 77% ejecta rate, he dropped his clipboard. Wanted to know how I could have rehabbed my heart to that rate, and I told him water aerobics. He just shook his head. When pounding on my chest and back, he wanted to know if I'd been lifting weights too because of the muscle development on my upper body, and I told him no, just water aerobics. He wanted to know if I did anything else, and I said except walking at the mall, the only other thing I did was disc golf. He wanted to know where and when I went to the pool because he had some people he was going to send over. I told him that was fine, but I splash.

Debbie - Just keep going!! That weight will come off. Hopefully, it'll all come off in one big awesome weigh in!

I think tonight is going to prove to be another long one for me. I got a majority of my homework all caught up, but I am just not tired at all. I've been on a random sleep schedule lately, and I suppose I'm going to have to get it 'under control' so to speak, shortly. Blah.

Good Morning Chicks!

I signed up for TDP yesterday. So I am working on figuring that out. I really dont know how many calories I have been consuming over the past months as I was on a plan that listed how many portions I could have of each food group. It is working well. But I want to compare the two together. TDP says I should be having 2,757 cal a day to lose 2 lbs per week. Does that sound accourate? I used the moderate activity level. Any tips to share?

I was happy with my choice of food when I had breakfast this morning. I had a small glass of orange juice and 10 grapes. It filled me up nicely and I wasn't hungry until lunchtime, which is good! I have always found it difficult to eat breakfast in the morning, before I leave for school, so I often skip breakfast and I would have a packet of crisps at break time in school. Eating breakfast early in the morning always leave me feeling nauseous but having the grapes today wasn't too bad so I think I will stick to a handful of grapes for breakfast. I think it's a good way to start the day! :]

I like water so it wasn't too hard for me to swap pop for water. I just found it really hard to give up Pepsi at first because it's very sweet and I've got a terrible sweet tooth. I try to stick to natural sugar food like grapes. :]

Thanks! It will be a very long wait before I can get in size 12-14 jeans, haha. At my lightest, I was 9st 2lbs but I could only wear size 14 jeans, but could wear size 10 skirts. Weird, aye?
I'm sure you will go over more than half a stone altogether when you weigh in next! :]

You are sooo close to being out of the 300's so don't despair. :] I can see that you used to weigh 351 lbs so have a look at how far you have come!
I always set myself small goals because I know it will be easy to achieve. I set myself to a goal of -10 lbs and I do it as I go along.

I can see that you're considering WLS and I just wanted to say that it's entirely your choice. I hope you're not offended by the others' opinions here, they just wanted you to be aware of the potential risks and things like that. They are your friends and they care. :]

Carol – My big problem, is that I’m a night person through and through. I’m getting ENOUGH sleep, I’m just sleeping from 4:30am until noon or so every day.

Beth – Thanks. I was horribly self conscious all day in that dress, but having the silver wrap definitely helped, because the dress was sleeveless, and there was NO way I was letting my arms hang ‘all out there’ all day & night! Lol

Well, starting February 1st, I’ve decided to finally head back to the gym. I’ve been trying to see how I would work it in around my schedule this semester, and by then I’ll have it all figured out I do believe. I need to get back, and I WANT to get back. It’s been a few weeks. Blah. I miss my weight training, crazy enough! Heh. That’s a good thing, I suppose!

I’ve got to head up to campus early today, so I can finish up some homework before Bankruptcy Law at 3:45 this afternoon. Take care everyone!!

I slept ten hours last night. If the water aerobics instructor is going to work me that hard twice a week, I'll either start losing weight again, or die trying. Forget about having a hard time staying OP, I am literally too tired to eat. When your arms are too tired to bring food to your mouth, dieting is so much easier. I haven't felt my muscles this wasted since highschool basketball wind sprints. The instructor used to weigh 250, and weighs around half that, and she's tall. So, she does know how hard all this stuff is.

Well, I'd love to do personals, but I'm working on a paper. Time to exercise my mind for a bit.

Whew! I think shoveling the 8 inches of snow out of my driveway counts as some kind of exercise, right?!

I've definitely gotten a second wind, though, and am ready to hop on the treadmill. My poor brain wants to procrastinate, but it's not sure how. Do I put off exercise for chores, or chores for exercise? teehee

Baz - how did you swap Pepsi for water? What was your trick? I am a Pepsi-holic and am now trying to use Coke Zero as my replacement. I hate the taste of water and have tried using crystal light to make it taste better but I still crave Pepsi. How long did the cravings last?

Accountess – Hello & WELCOME to the forum! Have you decided on an eating plan/exercise regimen yet? I’ve definitely swapped regular pop for diet whenever I have the craving. I’m not a big fan of the taste of water, either, but I’ve found that I like purified and not spring water. Maybe that’s something to try? I get the Crystal Light singles to put in the water, and it just tastes like Kool Aid to me. You just have to find the flavors you like.

Well, I am finally home! Lots of homework, of course! The scale was very nice to me this morning, but I just have to remember that my official weigh-in isn’t until Monday. Heh.
