nice to see you back, I hope the exercise helps tomorrow!

I've been away in Blackpool over the weekend with my grandparents, I don't think walking from disabled parking spot to pub at old person pace counts as exercise somehow (although I did do a gym session before heading over yesterday morning, and stopped in for a swim this evening on the way back). My grandmother did say I was looking thin though which is always good (although how fat must I have been when 204lb counts as thin???)

I'm just pissed off at the way I eat crappy food just to keep people happy. I don't like making a fuss about my diet, so I just eat what they give me even though I know it has little to no nutrient content. And even though I put some healthier food in my bag, I feel rude to get it out and eat it, as though I'm saying their food isn't good enough for me.

And then I have a pub lunch, choose something not too bad from the menu that doesn't come with chips unless you specifically order them and pay £1 more. I don't ask for chips. But they put them on anyway.

Do I leave them on the plate? Do I heck. It would be rude not to... (Actually, to be fair I only ate half then shovelled the rest onto my grandfather's plate before I could eat any more). The depressing thing is that I don't even really like chips...

Janey, you need to tell the inner fat chick to take a long walk off a short pier! You missed my crisis a few weeks ago, and YP shared similar thoughts on her blog, it happens to us all, you hit a plateau, your inner fat chick shouts "I did say it was impossible and here's your proof, lets just give up the exercise today and hop in to Macdonalds"

You will keep losing weight, your plateau is normal, your body is just catching up with all the good work you have done.

Take care chicken, and keep in touch.

Thanks, everyone - you are all marvellous !

Today I went out for a 65 minute brisk walk/jog and felt much better afterwards, despite my sore feet.

Plus I dropped to 14st 1lb today so I'm feeling more positive. I hate to be so shallow that my moods are ruled by the scale, and I try really hard to be level-headed whether the numbers are good or bad, but there's no avoiding the truth - good numbers are better!

I really appreciate all your kindness and support, and I'll try not to go AWOL next time that I hit a bad patch.

Janey

I'm a bit worried about what I've just done.

I've signed up for another 10k. Without seeing how bad the first one is going to be...

Oops!

Seriously though, I was thinking about my motivation for the rest of the year once I hit mid-September. This is the point where I fell badly off the rails last year and didn't exercise for months, so I'm aware that this year I need to keep going and not feel like I'm done once I do the 10k (this is a serious risk as my mother arrives a week or two after that for a three week stay which is all the incentive I need to stop going to the gym as I won't have the car to get there). So, to keep the motivation going I've signed up for another one at the end of November. This is actually the one I was aiming for in the first place, until I decided to do the earlier one in September instead, but hey, why not do both . So my targets are now to finish the first one and then to improve my time in the second (which even has whizzy electronic chips to record your time "officially".

What have I just done?...

Ah so nice to be treated like a human pin-cushion cat!

YP - you are completely insane!

Not really done anything worthy of chatting! Just off shopping after work to buy him indoors some new trousers! Aparently there were too many to choose from when he went yesterday, so he needs me to help him!

Been busy looking for a new flat closer to where my husband works. The tenancy on this place runs out in October and we'd like to leave sooner. The long train rides are cutting into our quality time!

We had a lovely 1st anniversary on Sunday. He took me up to Wimbledon to show me where he works and have a look round. Shops as far as the eye can see...! We had dinner and drinks at an Italian-American restaurant and the food was divine. The drinks were a bit watered down though.

Haven't exercised at all since Saturday and we've been eating out a bit too much. But I went grocery shopping yesterday so it's back on track for me.

Morning

YP: you go girl on those 10k's! Ambitious for sure! I'm planning to enter my first 5k in September and am dreading it .

I'm still in my plateau, it's been over a month now. My inner fat chick has been fighting constantly to not go to the gym. I didn't go at all last week, bad me. Went last night though and did 30 mins on the elliptical, 10 mins on the treadmill then did some walking lunges. Oh. My. God. Walking lunges are evil, evil I tell you! I am sore this morning but it was worth it, I feel pretty good about doing them.

Still fighting off the MacDonalds urges but last night I won my biggest battle. There is the best mexican restaurant near where we live and I love eating there. So we're driving home and I'm moaning about how much I could eat a chimichanga etc. and the hubby suggests we stop. Well, I find it in myself to urge him to just drive home instead and that we did. When we got in I cooked us a nice tea of chicken supreme with broccoli. I feel so proud. Any other time I would have caved in and stopped for mexican.

Tonight I'm grilling pork chops and tomorrow (hopefully) I go to the gym again.

Thanks 2frustrated

You've had your plateau for 8 months? Yikes! I've changed my exercise routine and my diet a little (cut back on carbs and added more protein) and still no change. Still, as long as I don't put the weight back on that I have lost, it's all good.

Have been concentrating too much on my studies! I figured, what does a little bit of fat matter compared to a degree grade! I am now kicking butt again - my 3rd week being as good as gold and weight lifting! Although the scales don't seem to agree. It's water I tell you - WATER

Do I seem mad to you?
