How’s the campaign going Tejas? There’s tremendous voter apathy here, with the turnout never 50% and has been as low as 20% We both have postal votes. We got them when our daughter was diagnosed just in case she had a seizure on voting day and we couldn’t get away. It’s effortless. The ballot paper comes a few weeks before, we make our crosses, put the paper in a envelope, put that in another envelope and pop it in the post. We don’t even need a stamp. Computer voting is on the cards, but I think it will be the same turnout then. Some people just can’t be bothered and they are the ones who always grumble about the government
Nancy Have a great time with your son. I’m having a difficult week, just can’t get my head in the right place diet-wise so am just coasting until Sunday morning and then it is a whole new week.

Jojo: the local campaign isn't bad. There are strong differences of opinion but the county isn't engaged in the hateful and dangerous rhetoric or tactics that are going on elsewhere. Thank goodness.

I went to a cookout before a candidate forum last night and ate not one, but TWO, (small) hotdogs with chili. I haven't had a hot dog in years and I really enjoyed them. I should be ashamed to admit that

I haven't been to the gym since Monday, and I think I've just decided not to worry too much about any of this until next week when this politicking is all over. I'll do some exercising at home (push ups, core work, etc) and just let that be it for the rest of the week.

Now, Sandra and I need you to be cheering for our Texas Rangers aren't doing so well!

Good Morning Ladies

Yesterday my reg doctor called and told me that I do have a torn cartilage in my left knee. He told me there 3 ways to handle this 1) nothing 2) injections 3) surgery but its up to the orthopedic doctor and me.

I was suppose to go to choir practice this morning but my knee popped again last night and I had to take a pain killer in order to get relieve.

Had a great time at our canasta game,of course my partner & I lost $1. I'm hosting the game on Nov 15, hope I will be able to make it.

Now I ust got of with the orthopedic doctors office and they told me that the doctor is reviewing all MRI's now and will get back to you if he feels you need to push you appointment up from 11/9 to an earlier date. I can walk in moderation, but must keep the brace on when doing so,and use the R-I-C-E method.

Not a good day for me as,my friend Mary's DH passed away yesterday and I trying to keep it together for her sake. Send some prayers her & her family's way as she was always there for me when Leo passed.

SANDRA-Thanks,I hope that I will be able to walk with the group next week,as we have 2 more time to meet. Can't believe this is happening to me,as I LOVE walking more than any other type of exercising.

RHONDA-I can't exercise either but I had the idea to now use extra small plates for my meals. So far it working.

JOJO-Glad you had a good time at girls night out. Speaking about shapes I'm a apple.big tummy.Have to worry about diabetes as it running in my family.

PAM-Now that you Mentioned not craving sugar on the SBD I was the same way too not craving sugar but I still on the sodium kick and that hard to lose.

Nancy-I agree with Pam it might be water retention do to hidden sodium

Have a great day, have to rest my knee.

My son is off with friends to his high school,s homecoming game .
Its perfect weather here for football. Cold & crisp!!

Marann..that is awful about your knee. Let us know when you hear from the Drs
office about your appt day. I hope it can heal without surgery. My hubby had the injections for his back and they always helped for a bit.

I had my physical this am and everything is good except my weight. ..I told him eating out was a big downfall for me and he suggested that DH and I order one entree to split & a salad . We always say we should have when we see the size of the portions but then we forget to the next time .

I realized the best plan that was working for me was the 5-6 meals a day of
about 200 calories each. Here is my plan so I sorta know what I am having.

8am-egg breakfast
10 am- protein shake
12- soup & peanut butter & celery (or hummus)
2- 200 calorie meal bar (with good protein)
4- greek yogurt & nuts
6 - 200 calorie entree

You folks are funny, describing your shapes!

Maryann, I'm feeling for you with your knee and now your friend's loss. I'm sorry about all of that. Hang in there.

I continued my silly eating and had a hamburger today. BUT, no beer or coke and no fries! So, that's something anyway. I'll get better tomorrow and go grocery shopping.

I'm headed off to the county square, dressed as the devil, to hand out political material! Got to have some fun sometime

I'm watching CNN about the explosive materials found in the shipment to the synagogue. So much hatred in the world....

Maryann I'm sorry about the knee and your friend's loss. On December 6th we will have been married 35 years and I can't imagine life without Mark. When anything horrible happens in my life, I always know that he is there and we got through things together. I have to go into town this morning so will pop into church and light a candle for the your friend. How's the knee? I know that pain anywhere is miserable, but theleg is much the worst place to have it because you can't move around.

Good Morning Ladies

Woke up,late again, its just driving crazy not being active like I was before the knee popped. Wish I could go out and help my friend with things but I can't doctors orders to rest the knee as much as possible so it doesn't tear more.

Got on the scale this morning and I up again. In order to lose you have to exercise, but if you not allowed to,what can you do.

Its getting very depressing here,my mom died 12 year ago today, and Leo 1 year this Tues and now with my friend losing her DH on Thursday.Don't think I will put my lights on for Halloween,I just want to be left alone.

So if you see me post that the reason.

Maryann, so sorry for your friends loss. I lost my mom in 1997. I still miss her as if she left yesterday. I had torn cartilage and had orthoscopic surgery. I had a fast recovery. The knee did not get better and a year later had a tibial osteotomy. That was a rough surgery. Hope yours can be fixed with no surgery. I know it's hard when you are used to walking for your exercise.

Rhonda, we have a chain restaurant here called 5 Guys. They make the best old fashioned burgers. I have refrained from having one, since we got to Florida, but I know it's going to happen soon, lol.

Nancy, I'm the Michelin guy too, lol. I don't think I could survive on the little you eat. Do you do any exercise? I am not consistent and I think that is my main problem. I eat right, most of the time, just hate to exercise.

jojo, an orange is smaller than a grapefruit, lol. I'm still standing in the middle of town, waiting for our next leg of the journey.

Been raking leaves. We got all the trees, trimmed, cut, etc. What a difference. Raking has been my form of exercise lately. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

Maryann, I am so sorry for your sadness. My prayers are with you and your friend. Try to keep your chin up. I know your knee problems are making everything else even more painful.

I am tickled at all the shape descriptions, too. Mine is definitely apple. Curtis and I first met via telephone. he asked me to tell him a famous person that I look like. I told him "Aunt Bea" from Mayberry on "Andy Griffith." Sad, but true.

We just got home from Houston. I won the State Title for the State Senior Games. Curtis got the bronze medal for his division. We had a great time, ate too much, competed for several hours, and are now home resting getting ready for indoor season. I'm pumped!!

Nancy, enjoy your son's visit.

Rhonda, you devil, you! I'll bet you're having a lot of fun. I went to Iguana Joe's last night in Archery Competitor costume including bucket hat/gold medal.

Have a good evening, everyone. And , everyone!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN ONE AND ALL

We don't really celebrate it over here. Now and again, you get trick ot treat kiddies knocking at the door but more often than not, we put our pumpkins out, buy candy etc and no one comes! Our big 'out and abouter' is Nov, 5th. Bonfire night which has a grisly history.
It’s a celebration (?) of the failed gunpowder plot to blow up parliament. Guy Fawkes was caught red handed and burned on a bonfire. We have bonfires and burn a ‘guy’ Told you it didn’t bearing delving into!
Mind you, you often see bumper stickers saying ‘Come Back Guy Fawkes. All Is Forgiven.
Our clocks went back last night, always a sign that we are heading into winter.

jojo, my grandson was Guy Fawkes for Halloween this year. He didn't actually go out trick or treating, just dressed the part for school. He is 17. We don't get the beggars here. The houses are too spaced and not enough lighting.

Congratulations Sandra and Curtis. You look nothing like Aunt Bea. I noticed most of us are round. No pear shapes in the crowd?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

JoJo, I watched about 3/4 a show last night on the history or Halloween before I fell asleep. (tired from the trip). The show was really really good. It included your Nov. 5 celebration. I hope to see the rest of the show sometime soon.

Rhonda, Pam, and Vickie, thank you for the congratulations. I have to tell you I am really pumped. Curtis is helping me set up for indoors in a few minutes. Life is good.

Well, Chickies, I got my biggest trick last night. A friend e'd us a slideshow of photos taken at the tournament. There's a close up of me looking up at the camera, squinting from the sun in my eyes, my hair pulled back with a headband, with everything sagging that could. Needless to say, I'm OP today.

Have a WICKEDLY WONDERFUL HALLOWEEN!!! I'll be back next month.
