Yay! I lost 4 pounds in one week. I can't believe it!

Careful with your thinking... 4 pounds in one week is really unrealistic, especially at a featherweight level. It's more likely to be water weight.

Congrats! I too had a big drop my first week, and then only 1/2 a pound more in 2 weeks. Don't get discouraged if it slows down a lot in the next week or so. The bod will need some time to adjust

Did I say "I HOPE TO LOSE 4 POUNDS EVERY WEEK"? No. I didn't. I am just happy that I weigh 134.5 and not 138.5. Losing 4 pounds in one week was/is not my goal, my goal was 1 pound per week. Unrealistic or not, it happened. I kicked but this week. But thanks for the encouragement.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come off as critical... my point is just that 4 pounds in a week at a featherweight probably isn't 4 pounds of "real loss." As many of us on this board have seen, 4 pounds is more likely to be a pound or two of actual loss, and one to three pounds of water weight. I just didn't want to see you set yourself up for disappointment if you had gained next week based on your weight this week.

For example, I'm kind of excited because today I'm down two pounds from where I was a few days ago, but I'm trying not to let myself get excited until the scale has stayed that low for a bit. A few pounds in as many days is more likely to just be that I had lots of water in my system then and I don't now (maybe I've had less sodium lately or something).

Hope I explained myself better - I really didn't mean to be Debbie Downer!

WOW What a great way to get to know the community here at 3fc. I JUST started working out, dieting, etc, and now I'm being told that my weight loss is "fake." You are certainly doing a great job at being supportive. Even if I "ONLY" lost 1-2 pounds of "real weight" then I have accomplished my goal, haven't I? Therefore, you should be happy, or QUIET, rather than judgmental.

Alrighty then...

So I'm down 2lbs from last weigh in, now that the bloating from TOM is gone I can totally get a proper weight! Yahoo! Must stay away from the scale tomorrow as it will probably read that I'm up 5lbs and I'll get mad at myself! LOL!

Anyhoo...

Coolgirl~ AWESOME job with the 4 Lbs!! What kind of plan are you on?

Scenestealer~ You also have awesome results!

I'm having a good week as far as workouts, I've worked out 3 times so far! I think I'll take Sunday off though and let my body re-coup some.
Have a good day everyone!

I don't weigh till Friday, but I hate the bickering between Cool and Laura. Laura did sound critical in her response, BUT we are a forum here of ladies who encourage and support each other, but many on 3FC are also honest... I do believe that was Laura's intent, though a bit more tact should have been used. But Cool, Laura did acknowledge that exactly in her next post by apologizing and elaborating more tactfully on her intended meaning. Comments made on texts, emails, and forums are often misconstrued because emotion/tone doesn't always come across.

I hope everyone kisses and makes up because this is such a great group of girls to chat with!

Having said that great job to Cool on the big loss (water or not, I agree that it's AWESOME to see that scale moving downward!). And Back at it - great job on the loss too!

I don't think my results Friday's weigh in will be stellar, but I do plan to eat well today!

i have been working my but off for the last week and not seeing a whole lot of results. I ran 32 miles last week and still tipping the scales at 135. I am hoping that it will catch up this week and everything will start being worth the efforts.
Keep up the good work everyone!
