I'd love to join the challenge! I'm new to the board and just made my intro post (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...wpost&t=116605). My goal for the month is to lose seven pounds, which would take me down to 156.8. I have to say, the 160's have been incredibly stubborn, so I'll be glad to see them go.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress! Good luck!

LOL Sadly no. My friends and I had an impromptu get together which involved lots of alcohol, and later on I cooked fried eggs, grilled cheese and boudan (I am a drunk cook rather than a drunk dialer) So I stepped on the scale, expeting the worst but I was holding tight at 202. SIIIGGGHH. I hate it when I do stupid stuff like that. I tell myself I will only drink a little, but a little always turns into a lot.

Happy July! I am really excited to get to know all of you! I sort of have an NSV, though it is a kind of depressing sounding one, probably. Well, my little brother (18) is staying with me this weekend, and he is usually really mean to me about my weight (calls me fat, pokes my belly, upper arms etc.) but he hasn't mentioned it once this weekend. Seriously, he has weird body issues and likes realllllly skinny girls (he sucks, I would hate him if he weren't my only sibling) and has been calling me fat since I was 110 lbs, but this weekend he seems to have forgotten to mention it

Hi girlssssssss,

Happy July 1rst and first day of our new month! It's so cool to come in and read everyones posts, welcome aboard to all of you who joined and as we always say here, never too late to join in so please feel free to do so at any time during the course of the month. It's so nice that we have this site and a place we can come to for support, encouragement, inspiration, sharing ideas and our emotional and physical journey along the way, the list is endless!

All is well here ladies on day number one. I went to the market yesterday as planned and got some watermelon and peaches along with some other things that I needed. My SIL is in town from out of state and having her over Tuesday, I decided on a seafood menu which she absolutely loves. Only thing is, there will be some alchohol flowing so that's the tricky part. Wed. is JUly 4th holiday and have no specific plans or parties planned, want to keep it that way! lol I read the posts and want to say happy canadian day to all of you in Canada as well as a happy long weekend.

Elegant departure, welcome : ) and happy canadian day! good for you reaching for the crystal light versus the beer!

sockmonkeyyy, congratulations on your new pair of pants! You are soooooooooooo close to onderland, keep on truckin girl! Movinggggg is so much work, are you all settled into your new place now?

Lekhikaaaaa, go girl! onto those new cute summer clothes now and you will have them for vaca too!!! : ) I was just talking to my mom about that this morning, she went shoppingyesterday and told me to go soon as many things are on sale now and to get things while they are still there. Lekhika, do you play music while on the treadmill? or is it facing the t.v? just wondering, before i moved here i had it facing t.v and now it faces out a window but I typically don't play music while I am on it and basically just count the minutes, count count. I am thinking maybe the music is helpful? My trick is to trick myslelf, I say okay 5 more minutes, then 5 more minutes! lol any tips and tricks you can share with me that help you stay on for that duration?

I wanna play! I would like to be 175 by Aug 18 so I'd like to lose like 12-15 pounds this month. I'm just starting out so I hope the dramatic lifestyle change helps.

There's no trick other than really covering up that minute display. As I'd mentioned I like to do the interval training....very short bursts (15 seconds) of running followed by moderate speed walking (45seconds). So I try to only pay attention to that and only that. I find I need to listen to music when I'm not concentrating on the walking/running break up. Even when I'm out....I try to do the same...though, it's more likely that listen to music while running outside!


I just am feeling pretty slackerish lately. It's pretty nice out today so I might just go out for a run with the kiddo. I did the saline flush again so I'll have to *cough* wait it out....

Default July Challenge...I'm in!!!

I started South Beach a week ago tomorrow, so far 9.5 lbs down (which is strange, I've never lost that much in a week before.) But I am certainly in for the July challenge. Since I know I'll slow down to 1-2 lbs a week once I start phase 2, I am looking to lost a total of 10 lbs in July.

Start Weight-273.5
Current Weight-264.0
Julys Goal-254.0

Lets do this ladies!!
