I had a 'feel good moment' tonight while on a walk with my oldest daughter.
We were talking about a friend of hers...and the friend said something like "your mom is so skinny now!" I wouldn't actually call myself 'skinny', but it does feel neat when a 13 year old notices.
It's those little 'boosts' that help motivate me to keep working at it...and most days, it is work!

Happy weekend everyone

Judy, sounds like you had a bit of what you wanted but in moderation and thus were able to stay within your cal limit which is great.

Dea, getting positive feedback like that sure is nice. Keep up the good work girls : )

As for me, it's been a good week except for yesterday at dinner. We went out and I usually order healthy but last night ordered (consciously) a rich dish, so that was my night out for the weekend ladies. Glad that I at least got in a 30 min. swim yesterday. A cookout is planned for this evening and I picked up some chicken breasts, rightnow though can't even really think of it. I am not feeling so good as tom is due any day and my tummy feels rather heavy. My palat typically changes around this time and I find myself having an aversion to particular foods, particularly meat....strange. A nice light salad for lunch on plan for today. HOw is everyone else doing?
we still have approx. 2 1/2 weeks left to our month, so let's keep it rocking....one day at a time. Onto a new day today girls, hope you allhave a good one and a great weekend. I was thinking to take a rest day from the working out today though if I am feeling a bit better later on, I may do something. Keep on truckin

Judi I have those days alot...I slip in a plain double cheeseburger from McDonalds and still come out under 1500 calories LOL. Dieting doesn't have to be torture!

Dea I bet that felt fantastic! That's a NSV if I ever heard one. You are the HOT MOM!

FullSteam don't worry about that one meal! We all deserve something special every now and then. That's cool that you don't crave certain foods during your period, it helps stay on plan.

I am doing pretty good. I am worried about my weigh-in tomorrow because this morning I was at 198.8...But I just expected to lose atleast 2 pounds this week because I have been on plan everyday except last Saturday. Oh well.

everyone!

Leh ~ I was considering doing a fruit detox like you and wouldn't you know, I was in Wallyworld today and saw this week's issue of Woman's World where the feature article is a fruit detox! A sign? LMAO!

Full ~ Well that's something I haven't tried yet! I've always been curious about the Boca burgers but since I've been broke, I couldn't try them. Well when I get my first check from my new job, I'll have the money to try them and all the other stuff I've wanted to try! And ITA with Mary about that dinner.

Judi ~ Easypeasy huh?

Dea ~ Sweet!

Mary ~ keeping my fingers crossed!

My week has been pretty good...only a couple of little cheats...we will see how "little" they were come Monday morning when I step on the scale!!
We took our boys to see Transformers today...had a small popcorn (instead of the usual large), so for dinner I had a fruit smoothie and a banana.
We are going to a BBQ tomorrow, and I am not sure what is on the menu.
Good luck with weigh-ins over the next couple of days...these mini-goals are definately within our reach!!

Dea, your 13 year-old sounds wonderful. Does she clean her room, too?
FSA, I've discovered that the hardest part of staying on track is being able to get back on when the horse after what you perceive is a slip-up. Anyone can stay on a diet in an ideal world- it's the strong ones who can keep their eye on the prize in the real world.
Mary, thanks for relating. Hope you're doing well. Stick with it!
JasonsLea, yo, easypeasy is when I wake up in the morning & I'm a size 6. Until then, it's ****, baby
Dea, I'm off to a barbeque tomorrow, too. I'm bringing some veggie burgers, blueberries and a nice salad.

Speaking of salads, I had a great one today- it had avocado and hearts of palm along with shredded carrots and beets. Mmmmmm..... Later on, we walked downtown (& back- about 1+ mile each way) to hear Los Lonely Boys (awesome). I'm so healthy it's sickening.

Hello Everyone,
I haven't posted in a very long time.
But I am back to try again.
Hopefully I will get more active and motivation will follow.
It seems like a big order from where I am now.

Hey all

It's so nice to come in and read your posts and news as always! Thanks for the support girls, sockmonkey, judi, etc.... (thanks to all), much appreciated. I felt good today. Yesterday I did not leave the house and took a rest day from exercise and pretty much everything as I was under the weather but luckily I was much better today. I got to bed early last night and rested up quite a bit so I think that helped.

sockmonkey, thanks sweety for your encouraging words : ) congratulations on a good week and on that other 1/2 lb. lost! I hope todays weigh in revealed good results for you as well. Sometimes, as I am sure you know, the scale works in mysterous ways....or rather our bodies do! You could be holding onto fluids or it may very well be a number of other reasons but one thing is for sure, you keep on truckin as you are and victory is yours! You may have a sudden abrupt loss after such an experience as you describe, I think your doing great girl, keep at it. As for my cravings, sometimes I experience them tremendously during tom (choc. or mostly carbs and cheese) and some months no cravings whatsoever! go figure! I am afraid to weigh in tomorrow as well and am contemplating skipping it altogether as its TOM now and well,,, need I say more? I usually skip it during tom but I will see how i feel tomorow. I am not feeling as bloated or heavy as yesterday but still afraid of setting myself up for a discouragement of sorts, I will see how it goes...In the meantime, let's keep it going

JasonsLea, if my memory does not fail me, you start your first day of work tomorrow yes? Have a super first day as for the boca burgers, the only ones I have tried thus far are the flame grilled ones (they come in various flavors). I really like them so I havn't tried the other versions as of yet, anyhow when you get around to trying them let me know what you think, okay? Ty for you support as well

Dea, kudos to you for making conscience food decisions and altering your usual order, etc... and a smoothie for dinner girl? I hope you had or are having a super time at the barbeque dinner toinght. : )

Judi, that's really cool what you said.........about getting back on thehorse and not giving up. HOpe your having a great time at that barbeque party as well! That salad you had today sounds yummy. ah ladies, so nice to have you here keep up the awesome work, let's kick butt!

tigga, wb! : ) glad you joined us! bravo for coming back and joining in. I think or feel that sometimes just starting or starting again can be one of the hardest parts and just making that decision to do so in the first place is a great step, so kudos to you on that! we are here for you. I would suggest, as I do myself, just taking it one day at a time. Don't beat yourself up if each day is not perfect and focus on making the next day a better day, for each day is a new day! With me at least, wehn I began (or began again), the first few days were the most difficult in a sense but with time I adjusted to my new healthy regiment. It sure helps to have the support here from these lovely ladies, I feel that posting regularly (regardless of good or bad days) is one of the keys to success........so go for it! and welcome aboard

THe weekend sure seemed to go bye fast. TOmorrow is MOnday and the start of our new week. Let's get ready and wish you all a happy and successful day tomorrow.

i think I need to invest in a new scale!!!
I stepped on this morning...and I was up 5 lbs...from yesterday! Is that even possible??? I was in a pool for about 3 hours yesterday, so maybe I absorbed 5 lbs of water?? I ate a burger, lots of fruit, some veggies, water, and a slice of pizza and a salad for dinner.
I think I will go and check the starting point on this scale....maybe it just needs an adjustment...or a good kick!

Well, no gain or loss for me this week. Meaning i'm still 5 pounds shy of my july goal. I'm hoping I can still acheive it. Although I do realise it may not be likey. I went shopping yesterday, bought myself some medium size tanks. MEDIUM! I don't even know if i've ever managed that. Also bought a second new bra for the week, this one being a 36DD (wed's was a 36D). Meaning I shouldn't get lower than a D once reaching my goal. Which makes me happy. The pants I bought were still a size 8, a little discouraging but I figure my goal of a 5/6 is still possible. I'm aiming this weeks mini goal at a lose of 2-3 pounds.
I drank 3 beers at the pub on friday night, and I also had TOM so i'm taking that into consideration on why I didn't lose this week. I never seem to lose any weight the week of TOM, does anyone else have that problem? I didn't even cheat, unless you count the beers. Sigh. Oh well, heres to another week, and more weight lost!

goodmorning girls,

Well I did it, I braved the scale (with tom and all) and am down another 1/2lb. I was expecting more but then again in another sense didn't really know what to expect with tom and all.

Elegant departure, I typically don't lose during tom either and may have a gain which is why I often fear getting on the scale around this time. I always retain fluids this time. I think that the scale did not show a gain is a good sign so hang in there and keep on truckin. With me, I often show a good drop after tom or during the course of the following week so that may be the case withyou as well. Your doing great elegant and we still have 2 weeks to go! congrats on your new tanks

Dea, nooooo way girl. It is impossible that you gained 5lbs. in one day. I used to weigh myself all the time in the past and occassionaly I have seen a 5lb. gain in a day but usually if it is around tom and i combined it with carbs (pasta, etc.) or lots of cheese, and or salty foods. It was fluid retention of course, and the scale would go right back down (but with my being careful to watch the foods I mentioned). How long have you had your scale? They don't function as well when they get a little older. If it's not the scale, your body is apparently holding onto fluids.......not sure why, not to that extent. Even with the beef and some cheese, still seems like a lot of fluid retention. Its a fluke! Dont let that bugger scale get you down, just keep going and drink plenty of water, im sure that the needle will go back down. Your doing great and you have been exercising and all, keep up the great work girl! THose darn scales can be a pain in the but sometimes.

Tigga, way to go!

okay my ladies, time for another coffee and I must get this tail of mine moving. New day today, lets make it a good one and keep going
good luck to those of you weighing in today, wishing you all a happy and successful day.

Well, I fiddled with the scale a bit...reset the '0' mark......and the scale went 5lbs! Imagine that! I was hoping it would go down 6 or 7...but at least I didn't gain anything. I am going to weigh again tomorrow..and look for a new scale this week...maybe a digital read-out scale.
Have a great week everyone!!

Good afternoon Ladies!

I'm still on vacation in Ocean City. The children are loving it here as am I. Yesterday we went to Assateague...it's a nature preserve and wild ponies roam there. We went to the beach there and realized we could have driven right up to the beach had we brought the SUV! Plus, you can bbq on the beach. It's definitely on our to do list for next year or even later in the summer!!

I'm having a great time and am trying not to go crazy with the boardwalk food. I do one treat a day, caramel corn one day, fries another, 1/2 a funnel cake (so good!) another. Even though there is no real exercise going on, I'm feeling like I'm doing pretty well. Don't expect a loss at the end of this week (weigh in on the 20th), but I still have 10 good days to lose 5. Hope I can do it.

Sounds like you are having an amazing time on your holiday.
We are in the middle of trying to plan our summer holiday for later in August.
We went to New York last year, and to the Henry Ford Museum the year before. Where is Ocean City??
