today is day 4 back OP and I feel GREAT!! the bloat feeling is gone which is nice and I was 160 lbs on the nose so I will see the 150's for the first time any day!

I love the quote Aunt Sheshie! I went to Amazon and looked up the book and I think I'm going to order it. I love learning about what's out there. (I can justify it as a school thing too!) I don't totally think of myself as carb sensitive--but maybe I should.

Linden, congrats on the loss!

I went for my weigh in this morning. I'm pretty much staying the same which is kind of what I figured. After the middle of March when I'm only dancing a night or two a week, I might have better success, but in the meantime, I'll just keep plugging away.

I have to share what happened as I talked to the doctor though... I told him I had another friend that might be coming to see him and he was happy. And then, I kind of joked that if I hadn't started my job at the church, I might have been hitting him up for a job doing IP for the office. He said to me that about a month after I got my job (when I was going through terrible bouts of vertigo) they were thinking of starting to look for someone. He said if I hadn't had my other job, he had planned on asking me, but he knew I just couldn't do it.

I'm so happy that he would consider me for the job and there is a little part of me that wishes I could do it but I do love my work at the church and I'm at least 90% certain it's where God wants me to be right now. My work also provides insurance for our family which has been really valuable lately. I just like the idea of being able to use the knowledge that I've gained through this experience and my degree program---but I think I do... it's just different. We will see what the future holds.

Down 2lbs. Can't complain about that! Looking forward to the new week - and new exercise program. Did fitness test today, will find out where I will start on my fitness journey and how far I need to go! Life is good!

Lots of interesting info on here today and lots of things i want to read more about. I have to watch myself because I sure can run up a tab buying books! But I will try to track down some of those articles online.

Weigh seems to be finally moving down a bit so changing the supplements around seems to have helped.

You know, this thread has so much fascinating information. Maybe when it has to be renewed it should be named something else?

I agree about the name. Any suggestions? And I am SO glad about the movement. Downward, I mean.

What a great ramble. Part of me wishes you'd become a coach, too. But health insurance sure is a deciding factor. I think you would have been a really good, sound, helpful coach -- so vital and so lacking in some quarters, it seems to me.

Thanks Linden. I'm taking one step at a time. I know it will come together as it is supposed to. We will see where I am led. Last night, I was led to the ER (speaking of insurance) for my 18 year old. She was having chest pains. After testing coming back normal they called it costochrondritis, gave her some pain med for the way home and sent us on our way. We got home at 1:30am. I have a family meeting this morning, so no options for rest. I'm also inclined to see if I can see my ENT, but we'll see.

Marion - sorry to hear that about your daughter, I hope she is feeling better today!

Wow started new exercise program today and it kicked my backside! It's short interval training 50 seconds then 10 second rest - about 20 minutes. I thought - no big deal, I go to step class 3 days a week and I'm pretty fit! Boy was I wrong! I felt like I had never worked out before! Some really interesting exercises - hope it's worth the effort! Have a great day!

Ruby and Momof 3, you make me ache to think. But then I'm probably twice as old as you are. Still. But I did walk 5 miles today, in the rain that was trying to be snow -- if it couldn't be sleet. SUCH fickleness.

well ive decided to lose weight i hate the way i look right now. When i was growing up i never had trouble with my weight. I was roughly 140lbs a UK size 12-14 which i think is a US 8-10 and the worse thing was is that i thought i was fat and i needed to lose weight. Now that i am heavy i look back and realise how good i had it. I want to lose weight to get back to that weight and id like to be well on my way to getting there by July when i have a wedding to go to. So my problem now is get myself motivated to get goin at this so any hints, tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping to make it to my weigh in tomorrow but the weather man is throwing doubt on it. It's a 35 mile drive to the clinic. 3-5 inches of snow tonight with winds over 20 mph. Today was beautiful and so warm I washed my outside windows! We were near 50 degrees. Tomorrow high of 18. The saying goes here in Iowa....if you don't like the weather today, stick around until tomorrow.
