Good morning chicks,
Sorry I didn't get here yesterday. Crazy busy day. As is the weekend. I can't spend much time here, DH and I are off to our walking program in an hour - he wants to do it but was not pleased it was in the middle of the day. We're getting crunched with lots of home things to do. He wants to get some projects done before we go pick up Mom in 4 weeks for a visit. So to quickly catch up...
Shy - I don't understand the folks that hate clothes shopping. I'd do it for you but I'd have to keep the clothes - lol
- hugging my friends down under including Mel's friend who doesn't know why she's getting squeezed at the moment
Thank you for the good wishes Mel. I am looking forward to the start of my golden year.
As for you - horrors on the cement fiasco. You sure lead an adventurous life. You should write a book - Madcat and I will help you edit it. As for the food - I would gently decline and tell people you have food allergies which cause your throat to swell up and make breathing difficult. You can't risk eating food that you don't know how it's prepared. Yes, it's a little white lie BUT there's just something about food and alchohol that people feel compelled to pressure people about. And it's not entirely a lie because it does make you quite ill. It's just that only the most foolish person would keep pressing if you said you can't breathe. Hope your weekend is quieter than Friday was
Shad - hope you have safe travels. I sort of agree with you on the last minute packing - the longer you have to pack - the more stuff you think you need to take. When it gets down to the wire - one is much more efficient Shame about losing your trainer but if you were going to change gyms anyway... Perhaps you will find her again down the road.
Ceejay - don't forget to have an hour or two of day off time while you're trying to catch up with all the chores at home. We really need THREE weekend days off - real bummer when you get cheated out of a day.
Good luck with the conference Holly.
Michelle - not sure that we'll ever get rid of the muffin top without the help of surgery since the loose skin seems to accumulate there. One guy I work with lost 180 pounds (or so he claims) and he wore too large of a shirt. He actually got gaunt looking at one point but I was shocked to see how much of a muffin top he had - the reason for the too large shirt size trying to cover it up. I was amused by the girls on 3FC who have commented that their goal was to get their boobs to stick out farther than their belly I will try and come up with some music suggestions for you - don't have enough time right now.
Annie - I had to laugh at Mel's comment of balance in the poop world (sorry if tmi) of one can't go and the other is innundated Hope you are feeling better. Rest up this weekend.
Ok, I have more to say but I need to get ready to go as DH will be down in a minute looking for me.
Quick driveby for me. We're having 15 people over for sushi and sake tonight and I just found out that public transit has gone on strike as of last midnight last night. Not sure how people are even going to get here now. Driving really isn't an option since parking is almost non-existant in this neighbourhood and we strongly warned people not to dive if they were sake-ing anyway... Arggg!! and Poo!! And we still have the whole apartment to clean and I better get to it. Wish me luck guys and I'll be back later if everything gets done on time.
Morning all,
Quickie from me as I am about to hit the road shortly and there are things to do and see. Qantas rang me late last night to request that I travel earlier than planned since they have a problem with my flight to Sydney and can not guarantee the connection so I agreed to an hour earlier. So I don't have time to muck around now. I'll be able to get on line from Sydney airport anyway.
So the time has finally arrived and I'm off to Jakarta. Better go pack that phrase book before I forget.
Oh and another thing I can't forget either..........
Have a very happy birthday Happy and enjoy your special day.
Well, well, after 4 days on non-pooing, can't seem to get it stopped now. Went to bed at 5:30 yesterday when getting home from work and did not get up till 7:30 this morning. Feeling a bit better, chest is heavy as if someone is sitting on it. (and he is not very handsome either, haha) Coughing somewhat too! Start Augmenten (antibotic) last night, hope it helps.
Good news to Rennie and Diyana..the muffin top is not a urban legend. It definitely goes away with enough weight loss. I no longer have the muffin top, just a bit of a saggy arse, boobs (i.e. the C-D longs) and slight batwings. Beats the H out of ginormous body however. The great feeling of movement without strain is definitely a plus....like tying my shoes and wiping my arse in ease.
Diyana...any kind of old rock n roll or disco is great to music to work out to, however I have not worked out much to remember. Altho I love to dance around the house to it. My kids call me a "dork". The "Got a New Attitude" song is great. One of my BFs got me a music card with a pretty lady on the front and when opening the card the "Got a new Attitude" song played. She got me the card right after my bariatric surgery.
MEL...OMG the cement fiasco sounds hilarious. It sounds like how my days go. Poor seniors, however glad they are now laughing.
Shad...Girl you need to slow down and catch up with yourself. Holy crap woman. You definitely need a "Me" or "You" day. Take it moment by moments. Hugs...
Madcat....arg and POO, oh don't say poo around me and MEL....we have such trying times in that department. First, 4 days of non poo then I have the trots today. Poor Mel spent 2 hours in the toitie yesterday. I have always had pooper problems even before bariatric surgery and dieting. Stomach issues too, always a nervous stomach, and car sick to boot. Such a card, I am.
Hollybelle...Great speach, so true, so true, hope all was receptive and a great audience.
UPS...hey girl, glad you stopped in. Hope all is good in your world today.
Happy.....How's the walking program going? Wish I had an "at home" person who would walk and talk with me. All the dog does is bark at other dogs. Not much company. I tried barking back at her, she just sat down and look at me. Ummm, don't know bout that.
May go to the movies tonight with DD. DS has been staying at his dad's this week helping him out with his butt issue. Ex tore a muscle in his arse hole (spincter-sp) Told ex that is what he gets for...well..you know...hahahha. DS comes home tomorrow. Good thing front yard needs cut.
Guess I have babbled enough....hello to all I may have missed....
Ooohhh
You can dance, you can Jive,
having the time of your life
Oooohhhh
See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen
Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
The night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...
You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine (oh-yea)
You can dance, you can Jive
having the time of your life
Oooohoo See that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen
You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave them burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...
You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine (oh yea)
You can dance, you can Jive
Oh having the time of your life
ohh ooh ee that girl, watch that scene, digging the Dancing Queen
(repeat once)
fresh air and shunshine today. think this is what i've needed all along. however the snake i saw in the yard today was not welcome. i think i ran over it's mate with the lawn mower.
Feelling better tonight, this MS is killing me, but much better to have it. On Thursday I was not sick at all, and I got so worried...even called DH at work. Going into week 6 here, so keep holding your breath. I have a feeling I will be shopping for new maternity clothes soon. (was a smaller size the last time I was preggers! Well, off for Saturday night baths for the kiddies one down and two to go...I am on the drying end tho...My DH has been so good to me!
Sitting here in the Qantas Business Lounge at Sydney and feeling completely bored with life. They keep coming around to give you food and drink and I am determined that this time I will be good - and have been so far. Another 20 minutes and I can go to the gate and hopefully QF41 will depart on time for Jakarta. Just about every other flight has been delayed, why not mine? Of course I could go down to the shopping centre and be bedazzled by the duty free stuff - which is not cheap. No point in buying simply for the sake of it. Unlike Rennie who should be celebrating her new wardrobe and the hard work she has put in to get there. What a nice man to suggest taking his wife shopping!!!
Annie, I hope you are over the worst of it now. Is this a by-product of the procedure you had?
Mel - you too. Seems that food choices are going to be very narrow based for you in the future. Pity cos I thought I might come to NY and take you out to the most expensive eatery in town!! Oh yeah!!
Thank you for the hug - although Shaker might come down on you like a ton of bricks for that sentiment. NZ and Aus are different!!!!!!!
Happy - hope you are going out to a nice dinner and show tonight. Please not deep fried pickles!!!!! If it has to be deep fried, go for the caviar or smoked salmon - what sacrilege!!!
Madcat - hope the Saki - Sushi went off okay. Geez I would like that!!! I'd walk or bike just to get there for the big occasion. What were you celebrating - it's not wedding anniversary yet is it????
Okay - they have just called my flight. I'd better take the long walk down to the gate. See you!
OFF SHE GOES INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER.....
BYE SHADDIE
CEEJAY~ IN YOUR SIGGIE IT SHOULD BE "RUNNING" AND THE LITTLE GUY WILL SHOW UP AND I LOVE THE PANSY. ONE OF MINE AND JEN'S FAVORITE FLOWERS.
SNAKES??? OMG I HAVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN I SEE WORMS!!
BETTER GO OUT AND GET A BAZOOKA AND SHOOT THAT SUCKER!!! I LOV
ELLEN~ HOPE THE MS GETS BETTER AS THE DAYS GO BY...I HAD IT FOR 6 MOS WITH JEN!! GLAD THE DH IS BEING SO GOOD! TAKE GREAT CARE OF YOURSELF! <----THAT'S AN ORDER ( i like to be bossy) I KEEP FORGETTING TO ASK WHEN YOUR BIRTHDAY IS??
IT IS SOOOO DARK AND DAMP THIS MORNING. I SLEPT WELL LAST NIGHT. I DO LOVE THE RAIN WHEN SLEEPING.
IT HAS BEEN QUIET SINCE FRIDAY'S FIASCO AND I'M VERY HAPPY. NOTHING NEW HERE. STILL WATCHING TV, DOING BILLS, SHREDDING AND SORTING.
HAPPY SUNDAY

Good morning chicks,
Thank you very much for the birthday wishes. This is my "golden year" and I intend to make the most of it. Either that or we'll refute the rumor of it being so golden
Yesterday DH and I went on our walking program. Good thing he and I decided to take the path ourselves and not wait for the group. As we were returning, the group was slowly headed towards it. As we suspected it was a bunch of very senior citizens. We chatted a moment with the lady who organized the thing and you could see the restlessness of the group. One lady in a lovely pantsuit and straw hat was loudly complaining - haven't we walked a quarter mile yet, when will we get to a quarter mile, it seems like we've walked an entire mile so far, are you sure you marked the walking path, did we stray off the path, do you know where we're going? Ah to be 80 All the while I thought of poor Mel and what she must go through. Anyway it's a nice program and I intend to keep up with it. We got a list of all the walking trails in town - I didn't realize there were so many.
Afterwards we came home, ate lunch and worked outside in the yard sweeping, bending, pulling weeds, raking leaves, lifting, toting and hauling for 4 hours. So yesterday was a good workout. And the yard looks much better. Until it rains today and the wind blows more schmutz on the ground
Today we are going to pick out paint for the exercise room. We'll go up to the mall to pick up my glasses and see if they made them right this time. Then we'll head over to the kitties for a few hours. DH had picked a nice restaurant to take me to dinner tonight but when he called to make reservations for today, they said they are closed on Sunday. It was too late to get dressed to make Saturday dinner so we will try another place instead. I'm still debating if I want to wait and just go to the other restaurant tomorrow night.
Anyway DH is giving me the "when are you going to be ready" Tarzan call so that means I need to do my best Edith Bunker "coming Archie" run through the house. Not really but you know how impatient guys are and it just seems that way.
Madcat - hope your dinner party survived the transportation disaster. That really stinks.
Shad - hope you have safe travels. We look forward to your travel commentary from yet another place where most of us never were. Best wishes on the new job.
Hope Mel, Annie and Ellen are feeling more perky.
What's with the pic of the letter Mel?
Snakes Ceejay? Another reason not to work in the yard
