  • Wow..i cant believe im leaving a food log!
    Ok! Here is my first one. I dunno if i have it right so i dont pleeeaseee correct me! Still new to this whole thing....like really new...ahhh!!!!

    beef jerky - 0?..can you have that on induction?

    5 grilled shrimp - 0
    1/2 cup brocolli - 2
    1 cup salad w/cheese - 1
    tea 2 sweetnlow - 2 (NO MORE TEA!!!)

    snack : beef jerky????

    Dinner -
    sausage/steak/cheese omelet - 3
    tsp sourcream - 1??
    1 cup salad w/cheese - 1

    total carbs used= 10?


    Im really unsure how to count the carbs for the things with question marks. I know everything is on the YOU CAN ONLY HAVE THIS STUFF FOR INDUCTION page....lol...but the beefjerkys. I guess im confused now...hmm...

  • CC - for the jerky, read the label!!! Depending on the brand and flavor, they can range from 2 grams of carbs per ounce to 13!

    you may want to use www.fitday.com to log your food until you get more familiar with the carb counts.

    For example, a salad w/cheese would be more than one gram unless it's tiny. Lettuce has different amounts of carbs depending on the type. Cheese is generally 1 gram per ounce.

    My suggestion is to make a habit of always reading labels. Total carbs minus fiber is what you should count. DO NOT trust the carb count that gets posted on the front of packages. I make a game of going to the grocery store and quizzing myself on carb counts. That way when I'm in a situation where I can't read the label, I can still make some educated estimations of my carb count.
