    Weird how an "insult" can backfire!

    As a side topic...I have been an "adult" for some time now and really can not recall anyone commenting on my weight as part of an insult since I was 11-12 years old.

    Interestingly though I don't blog on any sites related to weight, I have noticed that people do this sort of third grade name calling quite a bit on the internet... especially related to weight and/or sexual preference. I am amazed at the rage (and ignorance) and sometimes wonder how many people (including my friends) behave like this when they can do it anonymously?

    Hahahaha, I'm glad you are as amused as I was.

    I really wasn't offended at all. For one, she was drunk...I've been drunk before, and while I'm a happy lovey drunk, I understand that hey, stuff happens, lol. Second, why would I be offended by anybody calling me thin? What a terrible insult.

    On a slightly deeper note, I agree that it's odd how weight plays into things like this. Weight seems to be almost acceptable to comment on. Race, sexual preference, religion, etc are all very "off limits." But calling somebody fat is simply rude, not politically incorrect. Furthermore, dissing on skinny people is just as accepted.

    (currently debating the possibilities of moving to a "college town" and I'm kinda scared. I visited it and the kids were like pouring out of the woodworks carrying boxes of beer and I was like *sigh* can I live with this for three years? And how far do I have to go to find a place to live "out" of this little town? But I guess you can't avoid it at WalMart even if you escape actually living there....)

    The whole time I'm standing there holding my popcorn thinking "awwww, did she really think I was skinny? "

    I will miss living in a college town...hahaha

    THAT IS FRIGGIN' HILARIOUS, GIRL!!

    And yes, take it as a compliment. I know I would!!
