Joanne...Motivate me. Make me do some work.... Actually I've gone through some clothes today to donate to Goodwill and made up a box of clothing to send to a friend with ALOT of kids. I've done 2 loads of laundry and cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom. The amazing thing is that its still looks a fright in here. Must be the 3 kids. I made a commitment to exercise 4-5 days a week. I've been slacking off on that this week. I should get on it. It's funny you mention walking in a cemetary. My mom lives by 2 cemeteries and that's what we used to do was walk through them and just think.
Charlotte-What is Cervical Radiculopathy? Sounds like a back problem? Am I close? Not doing bad here at all. Hardly an ache or pain this week. It feels soooo good. We got a little more snow today. It's not too cold out but Tiana put in her request for me to pick her up from school today. I just have to remember to do it. I was supposed to pick her up Wed. when it was below 0 and I forgot. I didn't remember until she was walking up the driveway. Bad mommy.
Okay...back to the grind. I got most of my laundry folded. Just need to load it up in the baskets and trudge upstairs and put it away. Laundry is the one chore I just can't stand doing.

Rar- I know what you mean.. When I was working,I looked forward to days off..
Remember..Let's motivate each other...Joanne
I was going to ask Charlotte what that was too, I've never heard of it, but I would have guessed something other than the back.
I envy you having Saturday off. We are still trying to get our computer systems up and runnning and we are still not there. Saturday we are going to try our best to finish.
I've worked so hard that I haven't felt like getting us and going to exercise this week. I hate it when I let that happen, but hopefully I can get back in gear Monday.
Hello friends,
I hope all of you are feeling well this Saturday morning.
Cervical Radiculopathy is nerve root compression. Cervical....is in the neck area of the spine. Sometimes it's just a small spur that isn't pressing too badly & can be treated with physical therapy. Sometimes it's the disks that have slipped out of place, or worn from Arthritis, & bulging into the nerves. Mine happens to be severe. It's cutting off circulation, & could cause BIG TIME problems. My thumb was in danger, because of it. This happened to me a few years ago. I had 3 disks removed in my neck. They were replaced with a steel plate & a donor bone. It was very difficult surgery. (close to my voice box.) All, however, went well. With the symptoms I have, & them wanting me to go straight to the surgeon....it let's me know how serious it is. I don't know if something has gone wrong with the previous surgery, or if it's at a different place. These operations can be anywhere from not so invasive, to major. I know I don't want to fool around until I lose my thumb, or hand, etc. But, I don't want to have surgery until I just have to, either. The Dr. is sending me a prescription for a neck collar to wear until my appointment with the Neurologist. It's suppose to help it from getting worse. This should be fun! I remember wearing the hard collar for 2 weeks...then the soft collar foreeevvveerrr!!!
I know what you're talking about with the food, Joanne...but I started a diet Monday. So far, I've done well. Not really motivated...just can't get in my clothes. Steroids sure didn't help any!
I've got lots to do today. Hope you all have a pain-free day.
**The Website Address to the TV Station is now in my signature, if you'd like to check it out.
Angel- Don't delay on getting your health problems taken care of.. I knew a nurse who had the same things happening with ra.. Slost fingers. It seemed like they were always breaking out. We lost contact so I don't know what the outcome was.. It has been about 25 years and I feel sure medicine has advanced a lot since then..
Ageoldie- Computer problems can drive me up the wall. I am not savvy enough.. Get motivated.. Don't wait till monday go for a walk today...I hope to..
Hello everybody.. Have a healthy weekend...Joanne
Good Morning Everyone up early trying to get hubby up to go to church !!!!!!!! Rita
Hello everyone,
I hope no one is hurting bad today. I had a little flare up over the weekend, but, better today. Monday's are always long, so I'm extra tired. Maybe, I'll sleep good tonight.
Hi Rita...you really sounded chipper yesterday! Hope you enjoyed your Sunday. I could almost smell that breakfast cooking....I'm on my diet. I lost 4 lbs my first week. Not too bad. I know it's fluid...but, fluid is heavy.
Thanks for the well wishes...I DO have confidence in my Neurologist. He's been my Dr & friend for over 20 yrs.
Hi Joanne...yes, my nurse told me of someone she knew with a thumb like mine. Ended up losing her hand & part of her arm. I've got a prescription for a soft collar to wear until my appt. It's suppose to help keep it from compressing worse. At the moment, my thumb is nice & pink, again.
Did you get over that old flu? I sure hope so. This is a bad year for it.
ageoldie...it's time for you to drop back in again! Hope you're doing ok.
Happy Canuk...missing you these days!
Young Grasshopper...where are you??
Chrily...in your last post, you were feeling well. Sure hope you still are. Let us know what's going on this week.
Gotta go....love to you all...if I missed anyone, please forgive me.
The flu has just about gone.. Just a cough and some conjestion left.. It always takes me longer to get over things.. I am working on my weight also.. It is harder to maintain.. The exercise is something I need the motivation to get to.. I much rather read a book..
I hope everyone is well..Joanne
Good Afternoon everyone a pain free tuesday It is raining In Ohio and today have a lot of pain but hopeing it will get better Joanne glad that you are feeling better it does seem for us to take longer then what it use to!!!!!!!!!!!!well ladies have a good one Rita
Hope you all are doing well ~ not too achy and all.
Rita ~ hope the weather improves so you will be less achy.
Joanne ~ glad the flu is amost gone.
Charlotte ~ glad your thumb is better ~ do you get to see the dr soon about it?
Barb ~ hope things are slowing down at work, so you can get in some exercise like you want to.
Chris ~ you have been busy ~ I need to do better here.
Anne ~ how are you doing?
Doing ok here ~ knees more achy than sometimes today. I remembered what someone said about getting in the water ~ got in the hot tub and tried to work my knees ~ it felt good while I was in there ~ maybe a little less achy when I got out. I need to make myself do that more often. I feel like I am being frivolous or something when I do it.
Anyhow...looks like we are all doing fairly good. I'm feeling good. I have this little problem at night for the last few nights. My hand keeps falling asleep and makes my arm go numb up to my elbow. It doesn't hurt, just tingles when it's trying to wake up. It doesn't happen when I put my splint on my wrist though. I'm not worried about it, but I kind of think maybe I really do have some carpal tunnel. My first three fingers on my left hand go numb all the time at work. Other than that, I am pretty much pain-free. Feb. 2nd is my check up with my rheumy. I so want to be down in ONEderland before that appt. I was in the 216 when I went in last time. UGGHHH!
Today is a nice day in Montana. Our temp. is supposed to take a nose dive again on Thursday I think. They're talking snow for tonight and a chance of some for tomorrow. Winter is definitely settled in for a bit I guess. Wish I could get personal with all of you this post but Kayla is wanting to play Lizzie McGuire on the computer. Next week, my husband is taking the week off so we can get some stuff done around here. Get the girl's rooms done and finish up the fireplace and the family room walls. We're are trying to accomplish a kind of rustic cabin feeling in the family room or something kind of close. Maybe he'll even start building the walls for my sewing room. We'll see how it goes.
Hi Gals. Sorry to be gone so long. I have been in the hospital, with a rhythum problem of the heart - called Atrial Fibrillation. Couldn't get my heart slowed down, so had to go to ER. It can be serious in the fact that it could cause a stroke. My heart is fine it seems. Anyway, she increased my meds, so I had to be in the hospital so they could monitor me.
Charlotte - seems like you have found out the problem, and are now looking into the fix. Hope you find it, but surgery might be the only way to go.
Chris - glad to hear that you have been mostly pain free. What a wonderful gift that is!
Glynne - You must always take a "me" time if you plan on staying well. Those times are important. Take the time to have a nice hot bath and move the joints. Also, schedule some "me"time into your life. You will be glad you did.
Hi Joanne, Barb, Rita. Hope you ladies are having a good day.
Hope I didn't forget anybody, but if I did, sending you all hugs.
I do hope you're much better, now. I had a feeling something was up with you. It's just not like you to be gone that long. Do be careful, & take good care of yourself.
Yes, seems I know the problem, just not how serious. Although, if it will almost make me lose my thumb/hand....I suppose it's serious enough to go ahead with surgery. I'll know more the 15th of February. I'm suppose to be wearing a soft collar, but never did get it. I knew it would be a waste of money. I wouldn't wear it enough to help me.
Chrily...sounds like you've got the same problems I have. May be just in a different area. Don't delay getting it checked out. Surgery for Carpel Tunnel Symdrom is done quite often, now. I know...surgery is surgery..& I dread it too. But, remember what the consequence might be. & yes....you DO go too long between posts!!
Glynne...do you think a heating pad might help? I got an electric blanket for Christmas. It was the first one I've ever had. I didn't realize the warmth would feel so good to my aching bones! I love it. Even if it's not cold enough for it, I still have it on low.
Rita...I do hope you're feeling better today. Tuesday was a bad day for you...maybe you've improved this week.
Hi Joanne....I STILL WANT YOUR BEACH! We're going to have 20-30 degree weather this week. I bet I use my electric blanket a little higher. Yes, maintaining weight is hard. I lost my battle. I had the steroids, but feel like I could have done better. I still have a lot of fluid on me, & taking water pills to get it off. I lost my bottle of blood pressure medicine. It has a diuretic in it. Can't get more until time for refill. My blood pressure is high, too.
