Me too Terri.

It'll force me to get on that gol-danged scale. (I don't want to, I really don't want to.) But I will, 1st thing in the morning.

Thumbs up

2Cute: I need to get in more water too. I just get so tired of going to the bathroom all the time!

I only drink water anyway - never got into pop (soda to you Southeners & Easteners).

Confession Time

Only someone who's YoYo'd all their life can appreciate this.

I got down to 250 from my high of 324 about 2 yrs ago. Then I tried to work back into my WW program an occassional, reasonable number of fast food meals. Well, it was all down hill from there. I figured from the way my clothes now fit that I'd put on at least 80 lbs over those 2 yrs. I was afraid to get on the scales. I didn't want to know how much I'd let my life swing out of control.

When Terri suggested we try to lose 2 lbs by the 31st I thought "Hey, I can do that!" Then I realized it would mean facing the : again.

I decided to bite the bullet tonight and then use tomorrow AM's weight as my starting point.

It's NOT as bad as I thought. I should be just a bit above 300 by tomorrow morning. I guess the fat went to new places with this last gain cause clothes sizes are bigger than ever before.

I'm psyched to begin my weight loss journey again.
Thanks ladies for being here and helping me get back to a losing frame of mind. (Now, where are my WW books and pamphlets????)

End Of Confession.

See you all in the mornin'

Sometimes, the hardest thing is simply facing the fear. We don't know what the scale will say, so we don't get on it. We don't know if the pants will fit, so we don't put them on... Somehow, we muster up the courage to face that which has been looming over us, and, sure enough...somehow, it feels better, That's because we now have something concrete to work with, not a nameless fear.

Good for you, Judy!

And thank you, Terri! What a brilliant approach! Two pounds?
<should I snort again?> Of course we can do two pounds! Let's just focus on those two for now, and deal with the rest when we're done with them!

Yep, we can do this!

Hot damn dog!

We got us some enthuiasm going now!

So..why the 2 pound challenge for myself? And for others? Because I am tired of hanging out at the same point for so long now. I need to make a commitment to taking the steps I need to take to get the scale moving again. It isn't just about the two pounds. Its more about finding the commitment again. Showing myself that I can, and will, do the things I need to be a healthier person. That I can rise above the desire to eat to achieve what I want. That I really do want this. That I am willing to behave my way to success in these times of work and personal life stress.

Judy - for facing the scale and getting honest about it. I know you can do this because I've seen you do it before.

Lucky - I hear ya about the peeing all the time. I must have peed 50 times Monday morning from all the water. How's the green ball?

Kat - Very good words of wisdom. And snorting.

Barb.G - We might just have do to a little challenge for Labor Day weekend so that we don't blow it over the holiday. That way we can keep you from gaining it back.

2Cute - You are just 2 cute. for you for having OP days! And for your wonderfully upbeat posts.

Roll call for the 2 lb challenge

Terri
Kat
2Cute
BarbPA
Barb.G
Lucky
Judy

Potentially a total of 14 pounds gone for the group.

I'm off to bed and finish watching the Olympics. Anyone else watching? Its fun but good grief how many swimming matches are there? Sure does suck up a lot of time to watch it.

Have sweet dreams!

Hi all! Sorry to be AWOL for so long and I'm not staying tonight either.

I've been checking in and reading and doing my Mod-ly thing, but other than that, no time.

Did need to join Terri's challenge. YES, I can do 2 pounds as well. Isn't it funny that 2 pounds in 2 weeks is the same as 52 pounds in a year, but one sounds so attainable and other sounds like a pie in the sky!

J-ann: I liked what you said: "I guess the fat went to new places with this last gain cause clothes sizes are bigger than ever before. ". My story is very similar. I started at 374 and got down to 285. Now I'm back to 354 but my hips are larger now than they were when I started. Who knows. Some settling may occur!

Gotta run you guys. I miss you so much but with all my running, I have no time for anything. Well, almost. I am meeting 2cute's daughters for lunch tomorrow. WooHoo! I can't wait!

See ya later. Love ya bunches.

P.S. If you haven't checked out the Attention, Attention thread that I posted, you might be interested. Those of you had read it before, I fixed all the stuff and now it all works. I just wanted to mention it in case you hadn't seen it, especially those of you that have been curious about Curves because there's an offer there for 3 FREE visits. Check it out. I'll take the sticky off of it, probably Sunday or Monday so it isn't taking up space. I just wanted to leave it up long enough for everyone that checks in periodically to catch it.

Hey everyone

Terri, I want in! 2 lbs. before the 31st, here I come.

Thin, thanks for posting the Curves 3 visit coupon. If any of you have friends who are members, they can get usually get you a two week visit with no problem. I know of a couple of women who went in and insisted on a two week trial before making a decision. Those totally depend on your local Curves, though. And in case any of you are wondering, I still love going! It has been 18 months now, and I feel so good. When I first started, I was still having massive knee and lower back pain and couldn't even start all the machines without help. I moved like an old woman. Now I'm beginning to bounce!

Kat, you have been full of wisdom lately. Loved that quote, btw!

2cute, so glad to see you happy and OP! 2 cool, if you ask me.

I'm going to be a total bum and head to bed now. I didn't mean to start on replies, but you know how that is... Since I'm already nodding off at the keyboard, I'd better get out of here before I do something like drool on it!

Good evening ladies... well some of you won't read this till morning so .... good morning ladies.

It was so much fun coming here and reading all the posts.
I really got some good laughs from you guys.

Barbg... I started to post the same thing... about don't let me lose 2 lbs by 8-21 and gain it back before 8-31 ... .... but I decided there is NO WAY I am going to do that. I am DETERMINED !!!!! And you are not going to do it either.

Kat... I expected to find a fart from you. <snort snort>

Terri... I loved your "HOT DAMN DOG !!!"
That was a new one for me.

Lucky... in Okla it is called POP. Or occasionally you might hear this ...
"Do you want a coke?
Yes thank you
What kind?
Coke
Yes, what kind.... Pepsi, Dr.Pepper 7-Up ??
Coke
Yes.. WHAT KIND OF COKE? "

Okay... enough of this. I am snorting COKE out my nose now.
I am stopping this thread and starting a new one for Thursday.
Thankful Thursday.... so you know the rest....
DO not post here.... instead come join us in the next thread.. # 558

Hey wait for me! 2lbs in 2 weeks for me too! I've been "off my feed" for two days, I cooked it, therefore I ate it! I wish I hated my own cooking.
No excercise for me, but i did go ahead and make an appt with an Orthopedic Surgeon to see if I am a candidate for knee repair, or replacement. I also made an appt with a pool company to come out and give an estimate. Public facilities are too far away, and the hours are all wrong for me..if I see it, i will be in it! Nothing I like more than swimming.
I also made reservations for the beach in September. I hope the hurricanes stay away from our coast while we are there.
So today was a day for arranging opportunities, a nice day off from work too.
I was happy to read all of your stories of how your day went too. This is fun!
Now I have to download some music (I pay for it) so I will go.
Bye for now.
