Hey kel,
Sorry the kids are not feeling well. When mine were really little, not that I wished bad things on them, but I loved that it slowed them down for a second!
As far as the exercise, I have been better about it lately, but from the end of march to the end of april I did Nada! I did do an hour this morning. I may go for a walk later but it is a bit chilly today.

As far as the auction, well I think we netted around 140,000! We had some great stuff and people were having a good time. I do have to say the stuff I thought would do well did not do as well as I thought but the faculty trips ( a faculty member takes a number of kids on some special trip, like to a ball game or a trip to Boston) did extreemly well! So good money for the school, it will be interesting to see where some of it goes. The last few years the money was saved and given in 1 lump sum to put in a climbing wall which the kids absolutely LOVE!
Linda, hang in there!
Dottie, I had to go out and get some new spring cloths, last years were just too tight. that is why I am back to the exercise.

My friends in MN are moving again, back to Chicago. Easier to get there for sure, but very hard on the 10 year old to move again. I think this is the 5th move for them in about 6 years...

Laundry is calling...

Aww, sick kiddies. I hope they're all feeling better soon, Kel. I'd rather have them running me ragged than drooping and puking all over the place. Of course, mine are all grown and gone now but I still worry. I was supposed to go to #1 daughter's today to get a hair cut (she has a home salon) but she phoned me early to tell me she'd slipped and fallen on her hand which had her house key in it and she's afraid she might have broken it. Yikes! That's her cutting hand too and she needs to make a living now that she and her hubby are in the process of splitting up. Darn, always something. I don't care about missing the haircut but I am worried about her.

Didn't I post yesterday? Well, I'll try to remember what I ate if it helps anyone. Breakfast was one egg scrambled with a bit of chopped green onion and 3 slices of bacon.
Lunch: A few slices of deli BBQ chicken and 1 cup of mixed raw cauliflower and red and green pepper slices dipped in mayo flavored with raspberry balsamic vinegar. Dessert was a small dish of low carb ice cream.
Dinner:
More chicken and asparagus with lemon butter. Later I had another dish of the l.c. ice cream and 2 tbsp l.c. peanut butter (that stuff makes me feel like I'm choking. Must be all the soy they put in it).

Today so far I've just had breakfast. 5 slices of bacon and 1 oz of mozzarella cheese melted over them. Fills me up.

Lunch will probably be more chicken and raw veggies. For dinner I'm planning salmon and a spinach/mushroom salad. I'll probably finish up the ice cream today too. Luckily I only bought a tiny tub of it to try it out.

BTW, in my first week of being back on LC, I've lost 7 of the 12 lb I gained on my 6 week disastrous experiment with the BioChemical Machine diet (followed by a mini-binge). It must be mostly retained fluids but I'm not complaining. I can breathe easier again and have more pep.

Just have time for a quick hi on my way out the door this morning. eating fell apart yesterday when there were KrispyKreme crullers around! That beget chinese food for dinner(ribs, some chicken and broccoli), but now I feel bloated. Well, I am going to treat myself to a Wendy's salad for lunch, cause I"m too rushed to make lunch this morning.

Not much else. Enjoyed American Idol last night. If Latoya doesn't win I'm moving to France. Well, maybe not France. How about Canada? Here I come Ruth and Linda.

Hey, where's Pooky?

have a good one!

Morning Chickies, another chilly but beautiful morning here in the North East.
I did my wo this morning and feel good about having compleated a week. Seems like not so much but it is very easy to let it slide.

Off to DSW (shoe store this afternoon with olderboy to exchange a pair of sneakers for him. He is too big for youth sizes and too small for men's so we found some sneakers in the ladies section that look just like the men's.

Then to Fudruckers for burgers and home to do homework. DH has been and will be out everynight this week. Last night was team building for work. Bowling was on the agenda and then out to dinner. he picked an expencive resturaunt for all 20 of them to go to. He said the bill was between 3000 and 4000!(that is us for the northern chicks) He wants to quit and is waiting far a comission check to come through, just a little stab at them

Anyway not much else going on,

dotti I hope you get a chance to slow down. As for the krispy Kreams...well what can i say. We have found some good low carb sweets to keep around. I like them because they are high fiber, dh likes he can have a treat too and not go off plan.

Linda, your meals sound good, I am free for dinner....
hi to all the chicks passing through.

I agree, Dottie, that LaToya is like a pro already. I don't know why George is still in the competition but I wondered why the red-head wasn't booted out the first week so what do I know?

lol - speaking of the red-head, he was just on Conan O'Brien since people say they look alike!

Well, I got Bry into the doc yesterday afternoon and after his comment "Ohhh! That's impressive!" after looking in his throat he quickly declared it Strep and gave us a script for Zithromax and some icky tasting, numbing gargle stuff. Can't say he is feeling much better this evening but hopefully he will be by the morning. The kids only have 3 1/2 weeks of school left so missing this much school now is not a good thing. Luckily Bryan is an A/B student so he should do alright.

Having a bit of a cool down here - breezy and in the 70s so very nice.

Going thru some PMS and I'm a bit down. Kinda silly stuff and at least I know what is going on this time. Usually I get all caught up in my own dramatics before I remember what time of the month it is!

Well - hello to all my LC buddies. I read everything but am suffering from CRS at the moment so can't comment. I'm going to go try to DO something (weed, walk in the yard, etc.) so maybe that will lift my spirits.

Kel

Default Thursday morning:

good morning all- I am forcing myself to post even though I don't feel like thinking about my food. I have to force myself to focus on this, otherwise I go off plan and then feel bad, won't loose any weight, yada, yada. Yesterday ate better, but more WW than LC. Banana for breakfast, LC yogurt, then fried fish, broccoli and [a little] rice. Of course, DS wanted to go out to dinner, ate very little, but still...a margarita and carbs. Ate the insides of chicken tacos. It was OK, but there were better choices.

Kel, I'm feeling down also. Just the same old, same old. DH is working a lot, and things are feeling kind of overwhelming to me. I don't know why this is bothering me, I am ususally the one who takes care of house/money/life managment issues, but there's a lot going on now and I guess I'm feeling whiney. Hope you feel better today.

Hi, Linda, I agree, the redhead could have gone weeks ago- the strong singers outdid him! This is the first time I've watched this show(i am watching more TV as DH is working 3 nights lately.) So I never miss Survivor either. But there's not much to choose from on tv these days.

L, I think a trip to the LC store is in order. I know there are things I could be eating that I should pick up and keep around. That's a good idea- I've had some chips in the past that helped out...I'm going to stop tonight or tomorrow! And shopping is on for this weekend, whether I like it or not!

Hi Sono, isn't this sun better? I hope you have good mothers' day plans with those babies.

Hi Ruth, what's happening?

be good,
dottie

Sorry, Sweeties. I've not been in much. South Beach Board is really humming and I barely have time to read, much less post.
Sarah rrives shortly to help me FlyLady the frassing BARN! This should be interesting as there's stuff int here from when I closed the condo in 1998 plus Mum and Dad junk. It'll be quite a morning.
Jane comes at noon to be with Harry for my afternoon "off". I may go to town or just go to the Library to do some research for a skit I'm doing the 28th about ghosts of the township. Being in TVM gave me a rep in the village!
I'll pop back later to catch up.

Well, did I ever get a reality check today. My women's club went to a public garden called Tuscan Farm today. A lot of walking involved and I would have been ok if it had all been level ground but there was a very steep hill downward (and you know what goes down must come up) and a lot of walking to get to this beaver pond with pretty bridge and wisteria in bloom over it. Coming back, I got overheated, my hips were killing me and I felt like the top of my head was going to blow off my pulse was just pounding. So, the rest went ahead and eventually a very nice man with a golf cart came and got me. He took me a different route back to the main building and I saw lots of neat stuff along the way but I was sorely humiliated...especially when our 90 year old member who walks with a cane was able to make that hill and I couldn't. Still, it was a nice outing. We had lunch there but all I ate was the bean soup and avoided the lovely foccaccia bread and the even lovelier dessert. Came home and had a piece of chicken.

Oh linda, I hear ya! these little reality checks are a drag. i am getting mine in the garden now. the bending and squatting and kneeling is killing me. I'm embarassed to complain but just tonight i cultivated a neglected area under some shrubs, put in about 12 impatients, and my legs and lower back are aching. This was maybe 1/2 hour work. What a baby.

I am giving myself a pat on the back however- for following up on L144's suggestion of LC snacks. I went to a LC HealthFood store that just opened and bought a frozen manicotti entree(delicious but $5.00), 2 mini cheesecakes, and some cheese crackers. That came to $17 so I stopped, but it reminded me of the need to make some treats. I am getting pulled off track by not having anything to EAT around. Except HB eggs which is getting old fast.

And the cost was so high, I think I'll splurge and cook up some homemade mini cheesecakes this weekend. the manicotti was a blended cheese filling in a thin egg crepe. I think I can replicate it easily and could make 10 portions for the price of the one.

Sono, the brand was Carbs A Weigh, they have a website www.carbsaweigh.com and the store is in West Babylon. The store I bought them from was in Mineola on Jericho Tpk. I feel rejuvenated to taste a non-meat dinner! (my alternative meal was KrispyKremes, remember?)

have a good night gals,
dottie

hey dotti glad to be of help! I too think that you could replicate many of the things you can buy. I tend to get a few packs of the low carb tortillas and the brownies. DH likes the chocolate (very expencive!) but I like the z carb because it has 8 grams of fiber.

off to western mass for a board meeting and another school auction! Working again but just as a lowly tech support. i don't have to run the show, just enter the numbers!

back on Saturday afternoon. i have a friend who lives about 45 min. from me but we seem to only see eachother when we go out to this school. It is great to see her but I know she is running thin and loosing herself in the meantime. it happens, i hope she can re focus.
Good to see you Ruth even if you don't have too much time for the very slow low carb chicks. (ducking as she throws a HB egg at me) but I am glad you have an afternoon off and you may find burried treasure in the barn...if not a yard sale may be in order.

off to watch survivor, friends and whatever else is on.

Default T.g.i.f.

It's Friday morning and I think I'm back on track. I am going to delay my weigh in til tomorrow since the KrispyKreme attack probably added some water weight if nothing else. I had a good dinner of manicotti and a mini cheesecake last night that was very satisfying. I have Atkins blueberry muffins in the over right now, one for breakfast with my hb egg. added cream cheese, ricotta and mozzarella to my shopping list and I'm going to try to make portions of food in small containers for work lunches next week.

Not much else going on(plus I posted twice yesterday) you'll be sick of hearing about my boring life. Today is pay day, that's fun- not that there's much available to have fun with. It's overcast and raining on and off, I guess good for the plants I just put in. This weekend I'll finish making some pots for the patio, and then just rest~ Sunday, we're having dinner for Mother's Day and my mother's birthday. DS will make steaks and cesear salad, an easy meal for me. I am on cake duty, so a traditional coconut cake is planned. Maybe I'll bring mini cheesecakes in muffin tins for an alternative! Fresh berries? Whipped cream? Why not..,

that's it, time to get moving.

have a great one!
