*****HISTORIC MOMENT**********
I ran 2 miles tonight! I don't think I've ever run 2 miles straight with out stopping in my LIFE!

The end wasn't very pretty, I was spitting, blowing snot in my hand and I peed myself a little (sorry TMI).. For some reason everytime I run I turn into a snot machine and the mucous runs down my throat and I gag/cough. It's very uncomfortable but I have to push myself through.
Does that happen to anyone else? Might need to start taking allergy medication and see if that helps. It's ONLY when I run outside though, not during my normal day to day activities.

I usually can run 3 days a week sometimes 4. If I don't have alot of time I do 3.2 miles, I do alot of 6.2 and 8 mile when I have more time. And once in awhile farter.
I want to run for the JOY of running and not make it tooo much work!
I never in my life ran anywhere except the bathroom.before that!

Oooops. Should've posted here and not in October!

Anyway:

Ugh, i have not had a good workout since Friday (when I fell). I felt crappy during my run yesterday and today I felt nauseous and had a headache. Not a good start!

Tabbycat here.

I'm almost 57, and started jogging last spring. I just trot around the streets in my neighborhood. I have a two mile route and a three mile route. At first it took 30 minutes to do the two miles, but now I can do it in about 22 minutes most of the time. This month I have started going three miles, and it takes me between 35 and 38 minutes, depending on how hot it is (I'm on the Texas coast) and the time of day (my back hurts so much in the mornings - I have osteopenia and osteoarthritis). I think I will always be slower in the morning than in the evening.

I did a 5K in October and did everything WRONG! I'm planning another 5K on Dec 1.

I'm in the November exercise callenge with a goal of running/jogging 30 miles.

Yes, it does! It didn't use to happen, but now that fall is here, I'm a hot mess when I run. It even happens when I run inside, but I do have about a mile walk from my car to the student rec center. I take Sudafed on my run days. It doesn't completely stop it, but it helps. I still have to stop and blow my nose every half mile or so, but at least I'm not gagging anymore.

I really hate when my running schedule gets messed up. I hit my foot on the door frame yesterday and ripped off most of one of my toenails. That probably wouldn't have been enough to keep me at home; I'm really amazed that I even having feeling in that toe anymore, as many times as I've hurt it. LOL However yesterday on my way to my night class, I drove through Wendy's and got a jr cheeseburger & fries. It was completely within my remaining calories, so I figured it would be my splurge meal of the week. OMG, such a bad idea. My poor tummy is mad at me.

My schedule for now through Thanksgiving is going to be:
Fri Nov 9 - 3 miles
Sun Nov 11 - 7 miles
Wed Nov 14 - 3 miles
Fri Nov 16 - 5K
Sun Nov 18 - 3 miles
Tues Nov 20 - 3 miles
Thurs Nov 22 - 10K

Sudafed is on my list now! Thanks! Will give it a shot. I feel if I could get that under control I can run longer.

Yay! Look at all the runners here! I ran on the dreadmill on Tuesday and it sucked so I made myself run outside today even though it was frigging COLD! Apparently the cold is good, though because for the first time ever I averaged under 8 minutes per mile for a 6 mile run! Total time of 47:09 for a 7:50 pace. Not bad considering I did P90X Legs and Back for the first time last night and my BUTTOCKS (as Tony would say) were feeling it today!!

Signed up for a 5K on Thanksgiving morning. I did it last year and my time was around 35 minutes so I expect to do WAY better this year.

Got in a too short 3 miles yesterday evening. I have an awful head cold, a nor'easter was blowing in, but I hit it anyway and felt great after. The wind was blowing the snow/ice/rain horizontally into my face, the trees were creaking overhead, it was COLD out there, but the feeling of my heart pounding inside me, my feet pounding the pavement, the scent of the fireplaces going, and the knowledge that my body now needs to run to feel its best keeps me going.

7 miles done. It was a miserable 7 miles, but I pushed through it. Now just nice, easy 3 mile runs for the next 2 weeks until my 10k.

I ran 3 miles tonight. I finally bought some warmer running outfits at Target so I could run outside, I hate the treadmill. I ended up getting stuck out in the dark. It gets dark about six here and we live in the middle of nowhere. Next time I'll start earlier or run faster

I work nights so my schedule is all screwed up, I woke up early and ran 3 miles. We are supposed to be getting some freezing rain later, so its good I already got outside. I was such a snotty mess when I got back though and I'm still really slow. Maybe since I'm running shorter runs I'll get faster? I've got 11.5 miles for November.
