Some of my faves are:

Yogurt with granola

Egg "muffins" - I use egg beaters, a small amount of jimmy dean reduced fat sausage, cheese, mushroms and spinach - pour into mini muffin pans and bake at 350 until set

Omlettes with TONS of veggies

Cereal (dry or with milk) - but I do weigh it out!

Fruit

Breakfast burrito with eggs, sausage or bacon, cheese and veggies

I'm not a big fan of breakfast foods. I just eat eggs, bacon, and Greek yogurt.

Anything you can eat for dinner, lunch, or snacks you can also eat for breakfast. "Breakfast foods" are based on social custom not on biology (though you may find that some foods turn you "off" at breakfast - if so choose something else).

Salads, sandwiches, soup, cold pizza (if it fits in your calorie budget, casserole... anything you like at other times can be eaten for breakfast.

I usually don't eat "breakfast food." Breakfast may be leftovers from the night before, or it may even be something hubby and I put in the crockpot before we went to bed.

We've had roasts for "breakfast" because that's what we put in the crockpot the night before (not only does it save kitchen work, it saves money - because electricity use is cheapest after 10pm - in fact about 1/5 the cost of "peak" hours).

Last night hubby put dried beans and wild rice in the crockpot with some onion and other seasonings, so that's what we had for breakfast. He seasoned the beans mildly so that we can use them in a variety of ways. For lunch I'm going to heat up some tomato soup and add some of the beans and rice (I thought about having it for breakfast, but I was too lazy and just scooped some of the beans out of the pot and ate them plain).

I would eat breakfast but since my gall bladder removal surgery a year and a half ago, I have needed to take an anti-diarrheal medication first thing in the morning so I can get through the day without problems (gross, huh? )

So I don't normally feel "safe" to eat anything until mid-morning at the earliest, and by then I don't want to eat much because it is nearly lunch time. I will just eat something like almonds, a piece of fruit, a hard boiled egg, or a Kashi granola bar to tide me over til lunch.

On weekends when I have time to cook, I will either make oatmeal (yummy) or a delicious egg & bean dish. I scramble two large eggs, while I nuke a half cup of black beans or pinto beans mixed with picante sauce and pinto bean seasoning. Then I mix the eggs in with the beans and put an eighth of a cup of low fat cheddar on top. VERY filling - loaded with protein and fiber. Will keep me going for hours. And only 300 calories.

I follow a low carb plan, so my breakfast is usually a couple of cheese sticks, or some bacon, or some left over chicken/steak from the night before. If I'm feeling up to it, I'll make a flax muffin and throw some peanut butter or low carb jam on it.

Usually it's very light though, but enough to where I can take all my meds/vitamins and then a few hours later I go back and eat something more substantial.

Oh my goodness! You gals have given me so many good ideas! Thank you so much. I like the idea of leftovers for breakfast. I'm thinking I could do a protein bar or shake when I first wake up before my workout and then as my mid-morning meal (5 small meals a day) I could do some leftovers because by then I would be up for some more hearty food. Thanks for getting my brain moving in the right direction. You gals are super helpful!

I have to force myself to eat breakfast, but since I've joined weight watchers I am trying to make myself. I mix 1 cup of Fiber One cereal with 1/2 a cup of Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt and fill the rest of the bowl with strawberries. It's yummy, gives me important fiber (that we all need to lose weight), and will last me until lunch with no snacks. Do you have a Traders Joes? My other favorite breakfast is a couple of their "low carb, high fiber" tortillas, with two scrambled eggs, a boat load of fat free salsa or pico, some cilantro, fat free sour cream, or a couple slices of avocado. Delish!

Oh, be careful about protein shakes while your pregnant! (Also, I gained weight the two weeks I tried shakes instead of breakfast!)

I dont eat breakfast. I know horrible.. But if I try to eat breakfast it leaves me feeling sick all day.. I have been known to throw up after eating it.. At other times in the day I have no trouble eating. If I absolutely HAVE to eat breakfast though.. I go for a banana or something.

I don't think it's horrible not to eat breakfast. If you don't want breakfast or it doesn't make you feel good, don't have it!

I eat the same thing every single weekday, and it's not particularly healthy as meals go, but I love it: A 90-cal Fiber One bar, and a venti iced skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks. 200 cals in total, and at least I'm getting some protein and fiber in. It's usually by far my most carby meal of the day though.

I'm with Gabe on the yogurt; I hate regular yogurt because of the texture (it seems so runny and thin and just blech), but I love greek yogurt - so much thicker and creamier. The apple cinnamon Chobani 0% is my favorite.

OP, quinoa is delicious, and a good way to sneak some veggies in! When I have it I do it as a side dish for dinner: cook the quinoa according to package directions (basically, you cook it just like rice) but use low sodium chicken broth in place of water, and toss a bunch of finely chopped veggies into the pot to cook with the quinoa (I like to put in things like onions, zucchini, squash, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc., you can use anything really, just chop it up small). Once it's finished cooking, stir in some grated parmesan cheese. With the addition of the parmesan it's sticky and comforting and really good. I would think you could also make a sweet version for breakfast if you wanted to... cook in water and add some diced fresh or dried fruit (apples, peaches, blueberries, something like that), and then stir in some sweetener and some cinnamon at the end, maybe with a little bit of milk. Sounds good, at least! (I'm going to have to try that now)

Also, for protein bars: I recently tried the Quest protein bars that I saw recommended on another thread, and I really like them. They have 20g protein each, a LOT of fiber (15g or so), and most are just 170 calories. As far as I know you can only order them online, but you can order just single bars (rather than a whole box) to try them out. I liked them best when I microwaved them for 15 seconds or so.

Breakfast has always been my favourite meal.

I guess it depends on the type of diet your on, but you could have a smoothie with healthy things added which makes it hard to taste.

Say low fat milk, banana, a bran type cereal, wheat germ, oat bran...etc in a blender and you have a nice easy breakfast that tastes good
