shr1nk1ngme, I don't know about the southwestern eggs, only the scrambled eggs. I got an email from medifast because the scrambled eggs are in my cart for next month.

I wonder what else is being discontinued?

I'm on day 3 now and I feel the same way about eating to just eat. I'm not terribly hungry, but as tonight is Halloween, the candy is out and its reese's peanut butter cups which is my freaking favorite. It's been in the house 2 days and I've done everything to get past it but I couldn't. So I picked the peanut butter bar, which I thought tasted close enough to my favorite. I've gotten past that craving but holy crap I hate that part.

Smooth sailing otherwise but I'm tremendously worried about food centric events and outings that invariably knock my train off the tracks. I don't do things in moderation. I can't just have a piece of the pie, I want to eat most of it. I'll save the rest of it for later (like 2 hours later).

Welcom, junyper!

It's funny, I still have a bag of Lindt balls from Christmas hanging around. If I eat one, I can stop. Where I struggle is social eating - the potlucks at work, going to friend's houses, Thanksgiving! I have noticed that in the 6 months I've been doing medifast, my definition of cheating has changed some. Even when I'm eating foods that are off plan, I am definitely eating less of them than I would have before medifast. I'm optimistic that I am actually learning how to make better choices.

I find eating in a restaurant easier than at someone's house. At a restaurant, I can pick a meal that fits the lean & green. At someone's house, not so much. I've started offering to bring salad when I eat at a friend's house.

Default Back to Medifast

Hey everyone, I am returning to Medifast. I lost about 20 lbs a few years ago, put most of it back on. I have just been diagnosed with Diabetes so I am coming back to Medifast because I know it works.

So.....9.9lbs lost in my first week....And while I've been told repeatedly that it's safe and what not from my health coach. That's not why I feel weird. Since trying to lose weight since the age of 12, I've always been under the impression that it's pretty much impossible to lose more than a couple pounds of fat a week. So I'm not sure how celebratory I should be. I'm losing something but somehow I'm just not feeling like it's just fat or even just fat or water. It's left me perplexed and while I'm looking forward to the next week, it's just left me wondering what I'm losing.

As for how I'm feeling about the menu, it's boring but I'm really liking this even keel type feeling. I'm not having big cravings and mostly I'm feeling satisfied.

I totally know about changing my definition of cheating, the salad's I've been eating have had a bit of low fat cheddar on them.....a part of me was like 'No! you can't do that, it's cheating!' and the other part of me is scoffing and laughing about what cheating used to mean (ie. a pint of ben & jerry's new york fudge ice cream or maybe it was that bag of 12 pilsbury fudge caramel brownies that i'd eat on the way home from the store...you know...before the ice cream)

After reading what I just wrote about cheating, I can't help but hope that my days of that kind of cheating are over. I still like that food, its tasty but not satisfying. Medifast is satisfying but not very tasty.

You're losing fat and water. Really! Not at all unusual at your start weight to lose that much in the first week as your metabolism adjusts.

Gosh, a sprinkle of lowfat cheddar isn't exactly cheating. Check out the Medifast condiments list for other ideas of things you can add for flavor:

Red face Week two?

I am still waiting for my Medifast to arrive. I have left over's from when I did it before, but it isn't enough of a variety.

I did come down some, but I don't feel like I can really start yet. Hope it comes today.

Vbevens, you should have a tracking number that you can use to track the shipment. If it's been longer than 5 business days, I'd definitely check up.

So happy I've decided to stick with Medifast. I lost some weight, about 15-20 pounds, and I can honestly say I feel better than I have in a while. I noticed that when it comes to junk food I seem to have lost my cravings

Hey GymRat18! Good for you!

I think that Medifast breaks through food addictions pretty quickly. After losing the weight, the important thing is not to think one has become immune.

I started Medifast because someone I know had lost 60 pounds--I watched him drop weight every week! That's motivating! But once he got to goal, he "rewarded" himself with the sugar foods he loves....... and I guess he's still not done rewarding himself, because he's up about 15 pounds now. Not sure how much--I don't want to ask.

So the maintenance part of Medifast is really important, and learning not to use fattening food as a celebration for losing weight. Really, that last part seems like a no-brainer to me.

I did pretty well yesterday - how about you all?

I ate a little bit of a few things I shouldn't - stuffing, corn casserole, candied sweet potatoes, but I skipped the potatoes, rolls and green bean casserole.

I brought 2 beers for myself, but only drank 1 of them. I had a sliver of lemon meringue pie, and 1/2 a sliver of apple pie.

All in all, not too bad - I was satisfied, but did not feel stuffed, so I don't feel like I went overboard. Bring on Christmas dinner - I can do this!

Here's to us all getting back on the stick today!

I ate exactly how I had planned. No, I don't mean I was strictly Medifast compliant. But as some of you know, I can't use the Medifast foods except occasionally because of a problem with soy isolate.

So, it was a day in which I ate more carbs than would be a good idea, mostly as sides. Dressing, sweet potato, pumpkin pie. I'm not sorry one bit, even though my weight took a bounce. I expected that! Can't eat that much food and salt without a bounce! But it will be gone soon. I'm glad that I don't drink alcohol--I don't have to worry about that aspect.
