How does that happen? PCOS happens, that's how!

So, yes, there are medical reasons why your weight loss can be glacial. But like Expunge said, it's not just about how much the scale reads, but rather how healthy you're getting, how much more you can move (or run or climb or ride or whatever), how low your cholesterol gets, how much your allergies or your foot pain or your back pain improves.

I think it's so important to remember that weight loss is just one part of the overall picture.
Treading lightly, because for me this used to be a sensitive subject and I would have HATED what I'm about to say, but...

I used to use PCOS as an excuse. (Not that you're doing that!) PCOS is many things, but it is not an excuse. It's not why we can't lose. It definitely makes it more interesting, especially before the insulin resistance gets taken care of, if it can. Losing with PCOS may just mean figuring out what works for you that may be different than the norm. Someone with PCOS may need fewer carbs, more protein, a little more exercise, a little more rigidity and heaps more patience! It's the patience that was key for me. The scale does move, even with PCOS, but I'm convinced it moves just a touch slower.

Grace, I used to have this fear! I thought for sure I could not lose this weight, and I had a good 10 previous attempts to back it up. But with patience, perseverance and a healthy dose of commitment, it is the rare individual who can not lose the weight. That's not to say it's easy, but yes, you have it within your power to do this now and permanently (to borrow from Rockin' Robin who's been MIA!).

Please feel free to take a look at my story in my signature.
