caryesings, I love your expression "closet shopping"! Just yesterday I did some of that. Many of the items that I don't like that well are too big now (I didn't bother to try them on when they would have fit). There are a few items that are too small and will probably always be. But I discovered four long-sleeved shirts (all basically pullover sweaters) from the 1980's that (1) I like and (2) fit perfectly. I put them in the laundry yesterday and they're ready to go. Also took a 25-year-old overcoat, dusty but in good shape, to the dry cleaners because it fits now.

Right now, I have one closet with clothes I can wear and one closet with clothes that don't fit. I eventually hope to have one closet of winter clothes and one closet of summer clothes. (I used to basically wear short sleeves all year, but I've been getting too cold to do that anymore.)
