Default Know how you feel

It sounds like the best thing for you is too find something to be doing in the evening away from the "food" in the house....I go to the YMCA in the evening so I don't sit and eat out of boredom. If you cant go to the gym to swim or workout.. call a friend and go for a walk, job or a bike ride.....

Good luck girl don't think about 200 anymore ..think you are only 8 lbs from your next goal.... mini goals are great... 10 lbs at a time

Good Luck

I noticed you said that when you got home it was just you. Have you considered a pet? You need something to come home to besides food.

And get a therapist! There is nothing wrong with having someone unattached to you, to give you some perspective.

I agree - a good therapist can really help. Not just about food issues, but general self-acceptance issues, which make it easier to weather eating disappointments.

And if therapy's not something you can financially afford, I know that there's chapters of Overeaters Anonymous that are free to attend. Overeating is usually an emotional response. It's nothing to punish yourself for, but in order to lose weight it will probably help to know what triggers the overeating. I know what it's like to go overboard and feel like your sinking. The fact that you're aware of the problem, and sorry for sounding cliched and cheesy, is knowing that you're having a problem. Good luck to you!

I second the Overeater's Anonymous suggestion, just as something to look into. I've been going for 4 months now, and it has changed my life and how I look at food. Good luck!

Yes, if you can afford it, please seek help from a therapist or counselor. You want to address this before it spirals.

There's a forum here at 3fc that talks about binge and compulsive eating. There are also disucussions about purging. They also have links to have places to seek help or support.

Check it out:

Good luck...be kind to yourself.

I'm seeing a therapist currently but I feel like...I don't want to say it's not helping, because it is it's just...I can't explain it. Yesterday in study hall my study hall teacher (who just happens to be my gym teacher) started making small talk with me and then she started in on how she went to some thing about eating disorders and then she said,"I know you've lost a lot of weight this summer, so I thought of you...I'm just wondering if something is going on there..." and she said she'd give me the information and if I used it cool and if not oh well. I know that she's trying to help but do I tell her that I have eating problems? It makes me feel bad that people are noticing I have a problem on their own.

I just want to wish you the best and give you a big hug.

I was one of those people who gained it all back - and more. I also had a brother who died from obesity so I know how hard a problem this can be.

I have received professional help in addition to WW and it is helping me a lot.

It is really great that you keep posting and getting support. Keep letting us know how you are doing.

Thank you so much =]
On Friday I talked with my teacher and she gave me some websites and urged me to talk to the school guidance counsellor, and I did, and he use to deal with eating disorders before working at the school so he told me he was going to give me the name and number of a therapist who's main focus is eating disorders tormorrow and my teacher is going to help me get back on track with weightloss so yeah...I guess it's getting better.

Default Binge/purge

Hi Bunny,

I remember the first time I was aware that I was chubby. I was sitting in a chair in a pair of shorts. I was twelve. My mother who has never weighed more than 100 pounds looked at me ans said oh my god, your thighs are bigger than mine. I was crushed. lets just say that i struggled with binging and purging as well as a cocaine habit-bc that keeps you skinny, rt?-until i was pregnant with my first child.

the playing field changed.

I had to learn to manage my weight some other way.

I gained 50 pounds during my pregnancy.

I am finally feeling good about myself and have learned to manage my weight in some healthy ways:

*Cut out anything white flour based, select wheat flour instead
*cut out any fried or red meat
*always parking far away so I have further to walk
*trying to remember that what I eat is meant to nourish my body and choosing healthy
*playing cardio games like dance dance revolution

Bunny, the key is being so in love with yourself that you know you are beautiful no matter what and then making positive changes. You are beautiful. Don't forget that.
