Nothing this week. I'm just glad after that holiday I didn't add a few pounds, so I think I've got off lightly. It's nose to the grindstone now for me until Christmas.

I'm really, really disappointed with such a small loss. I went to my group last evening for a weigh in and all of us have slowed up but the doctor said to just ride with it for a few weeks. We are trying to lose steadily and a 1-2lbs a week is all that is expected of us. We aren't on a crash vanity diet, we are on a life-style change and over a year we will see a considerable loss. That said, we were all a bit down. Its nice to be with others the same as me. Without my group and this site I don't think I'd have gone this long. Looking on the bright side! I'm over half way to the Christmas dead line for 20lbs off.
No, not at all robin. It isn't really a plan. We have a new doctor at our family doctor's and her mother has battled with weight gain all her life. She loses the weight on different diets, then piles it back on. Just like many of us.
This doctor has started a class, every Saturday evening. All of us need to lose a great deal of weight, but we encouraged to do it slowly by completely rethinking our life style. It isn’t diet, it is a life change. We had to write down everything we ate, no matter how little it was and not only that, sit down to eat it. That brought it home how much I was snacking. We have 3 good meals a day, we are allowed whatever we want, when we want it. The pressure coming off like that; i.e there are no rules makes you eat less! We have access to a dietician, exercise coach and relaxation therapy if we want it. I used to be a little devil for butter, but now I just have a scrape. It's very difficult to put into words because it is a sort of holistic approach, but its working for me and others in the group.
We've been given so much encouragement if we lose just 1lb a week in a year we will have lost 52lbs.

Push yourself, harder than you ever have before. Reach. Stretch. Strive. Prosper. LEarn. Grow. Discover what you're capable of. Amaze yourself.
