The four packets for your weight us correct and there are people on here who do it. I don't know that they have found it to slow losses however. Also you must realize that it is a natural progression of IP that losses of the first couple weeks will not stay as high after that. 2-4 lbs is much more normal, some weeks even less, some a but more. Some weeks may be 0 lbs lost but lots if inches lost. Have you also been measured?

Are you 100% OP? Getting all your water, salt AND daily oil on your food, not for cooking?

Also, the extra packet is unrestricted and you could try using some of the lowest calorie/carb packets as your extra one.

Post some daily meals for other ideas.

I work at being 100% on IP but 3 days out of the week I am working 10-12 hour days. Lunch at work is the problem, trying to get the veggies in. I usually do a drink packet and graze the veggies as I can. But I know I need to work this into my lifestyle this is forever. I was never a snack or sweet eater now I have eat all day rather than at meal times which were hours apart.
The first week was unbelievable and I knew I shouldnt lose like that throughout phase one.
I bought a miniature office crock pot and load it when I arrive with an IP packet and extra water. I have even put the veggies in to steam as the soup warms. That seems to help. I guess this is my second change of life thanks

Are we supposed to have oil besides what we use for cooking/stir fry?? I have not been doing that! I often feel like I know more about IP than my coach does thanks to this forum!!

Use your Pam or other cooking spray for cooking. (I use a spritzer)
Use your 2 tsp oil to add to food. If you don't, much of the oil ends up in the pan instead of in you! Some people found they stalled if they didn't get enough fat!

Interesting.. .I did not know that about the oil either... I usually use it to cook my food. I guess I will be adding it to my meal program..

Thanks for the great info!

So much to learn. No idea I wasn't to cook with the oil. For several years I have taken 1300mg of flax oil, will that count as well? I want to say thank you all for the ideas to dress up the food. I prepared the best dinner this evening. Haven't ate that well since I've been on IP.

Nope. There is an omega 3 supplement in IP in addition to the 1-2 tsp of olive or grapeseed oil

Default Phase 1week 2 no significant weight loss

I started IP on August 12th so it has been a little over 2 weeks and I have only lost about 7 lbs.. I have not cheated so I am a little discouraged. My clothes are definitely looser but I am worried this diet won't work for me.

Any advice?

I have lost weight slower than most also, but my coach told me its because of my thyroid (underactive, I am on meds). Please stick with it. What other diet could you do and lose 7 lbs in 2 weeks? I am more than happy with 14-20 lbs a month.. my skin is better and my husband has noticed the weightloss and I have sooo much energy...

Its worth it!

That is 3.5 average per week, something to celebrate. Not everyone will have a giant loss the first week. Keep up the good work!

I know exactly how you feel. I have lost 2 lb a week, that is if I am not having problems with the Big C. DH keeps telling me that I have never lost 15 lbs before so I should not be hard on myself. I am just going to stick with it and keep trying. If I don't do this I'll be gaining the 2 lbs. Good luck.

Question New to this Board and New to IP

Hello everyone

I have been trying to post on here since sunday , but with a 2 year old who just will not let me do anything it makes it super hard. BUT it is now naptime and I can post with a few questions if I may

I am currently a stay at home mom. My hubby and I have 3 kids ages 15, 8 and 2. Needless to say life can be crazy around here. My hubby works from home 100% of the time so there is zero cost on gas, tires etc.

The toll of being home 100% of the time is you have a tendency to graze most of the day. I am a victim of my own cooking (we hardly eat out simply because LOVE to cook too much and bake) hence the need to lose weight for both of us.

We are going to start the IP diet. The clinic here that offers the diet gives a couples discount for joining together and attending an informational meeting ( I did back in july). Well dh's work schedule has him working until 6-7pm and they close at 4 So we are going to start on our own..........and this is where I have questions.

First we have a 3 month supply of IP foods (72 boxes total of which 24 are the snacks/bars/puff things) I stopped in and just asked a few questions to the center down here just get some info. We ordered the IP stuff on line and I am awaiting the second half of my shipment which has the docs and DOs and Don'ts of IP. But I really want to get started tomorrow or Friday because I have my physical at the end of the month and want to go there at least 14lbs lighter if possible

I found the links for the phases on this thread but I have a few questions left:

1. with breakfast can you have anything with it other than a cup of tea or coffee with a smidge of sweetener and 1 oz of creamer? can you have any yogurt or anything like that?

2. can you have any dairy (mostly yogurt ) with phase one?

3. Is there an approved list of what you can have on phase one outside the veggie list (which I have)?

SOrry if I seem dingy or lost I just need a link to a posted thread/reply or someone to summarize for me what we can and can not have,

We will get to the clinic once they start staying open later or dh's meetings let him free before 5!

Thanks for letting me ramble I hope to learn from everyone here

The guide lines are easy. Very clear cut...2 things to consider:

1. This is a restrictive diet...
Which is why it works. It isn't for everyone...there are way more lenient and forgiving "diets" ... They, for some though, are harder to stick to because there are too many or difficult choices that can be made. This plan removes all of that chance for failure.
For those who struggle with the strict guidelines...the losses and stalls may come much slower and last longer ...it is still calorie restrictive even if one cheats a little BUT ... the plan is designed to go a few steps further by reducing insulin spikes caused by carbs. Retraining your pancreas and your taste buds has a lot of intrinsic value if you what to maintain the loss for the rest of your life.

2. If you plan to go on a diet again at some time...then any diet will probably work if you are not insulin resistant, and are OK with repeating the drill.

Good luck..we hope you have a lot of success...and welcome!!
You will see how well so many of us have done and I hope that motivates you to give this your best shot!

I felt the same way. Started Aug 15. First and second weigh in 5 lbs each; then 0, and yesterday 2.5. Told coach I want to quit, but she explained 17 1/2 inches makes a difference. So Hang in there it will come off. Good luck

Thank you for your reply I appreciate it so much!!

I am ok with restrictions on a diet. it will take me a few days to adjust but I can do it. my hubby has been asking me if he can have bread or rice with what ever protein we eat at night and I tell him no. He is from Pakistan where rice, yogurt and bread are staples in the meals so that will be hard for him for a few days. I am from IA land of steak, potatoes and desserts LOL.

My weakness is sweets and iced coffee............but I need to lose weight and I can and will sacrifice those for a better looking moi

We are starting tomorrow AM. and the challenge begins!
