  • Please feel free to scan the Phase 2 sheet and post it in the Newbie thread! Not everyone's clinic stays up on the most recent paperwork

Phase 2 is just Phase 1 but replacing your lunch packet with a meal that looks just like dinner. For me, two meals of 8oz protein was a bit too much - so I was having 6oz meat (measured raw) at each meal instead of 8. I believe the clinics were recently told that in Phase 1 and 2 the "real meat" portion could be 6-8 oz instead of a flat 8oz, but I haven't seen an updated P1 sheet that states so.
  • Thanks IdealProteinNewbie & scorbett1103. That's the information I was looking for.

I just returned from my coach and am ready to go on Phase 2. My sheet (and coach) says that lunch and dinner are + either 5 oz meat or chicken OR 6 oz fish + 2 c veggies. This would add up to 10 oz of meat or poultry OR 14 oz fish or any combination of the two.
  • Quote: I started IP 3 weeks ago and lost 5 pounds the first week and then only .8 each week afterwards. I have kept to it absolutely and yet??? I do exercise 2 times per week but lowered the cardio part as per my coach. She told me to eat an extra packet on the days I exercise. I hope it works. Anyone else have problems like this? Anyone have any solutions?
I know my one friend was having the same problems because she was working out. However, she was losing inches. So, see how your clothes are fitting. I always weighed in with the same clothes. That helped with the inches and the scale!

  • What food are you allowed on phase 3, for example can I drink unsweetened soy milk, eat a serving of Almonds for fat
If there are any restricted food, what are they?

You need to review the Phase 3 sheet as was posted - the ONLY thing that changes in Phase 3 is that you have a BIG breakfast which includes grains, dairy, protein and fruit. There are specific guidelines as to how your breakfast needs to be constructed - certain number of calories, limits to the grams of carbs and fats, and minimum grams of protein.

Lunch, dinner and snacks are exactly the same in Phase 3 as Phase 2. You do not start adding fats and carbs to the rest of your day until maintenance.

  • Ideal Protein Diet
My first week on the ideal protein diet and I lost 6 lbs 4 oz YaY. I did just use the shakes and soup no bars and my counselor told me I should have eaten the bars (restricted food) because I did not get enough carbs in so this week I am going to eat the bars for my treat and see how it works. So

Now that IP is offering chocolate & vanilla pudding & peach yogurt, are they considered restricted items?

You would have to look at the Net carbs of each product - 8g or less net carbs is unrestricted, 9g-16g net carbs is restricted.
  • I've been on Phase I for 4 weeks and certainly have lost weight - 20 lbs. 9 the first week, my coach then told me due to my weight over 240 I was to have 4 IP packs a day. I have been reading threads for several days and have not seen anyone talking about 4 packs a day. It did slow down the weight loss. He said I lost muscle not fat and if I didn't follow the program as he lined it out he would pull me off of it. Any insight?
