Default My Experience

I have attempt TLT too many times. My problem is staying focused. Perhaps I am ADHD, maybe that is why I am up now. I better get to bed. I however started it last yr. My one mentor told me to back after Day11. I then went back in May/June and was finished online with
Day 27. I worked on Day 30 and 31 downloaded from the computed, but never submitted it. That was around late Nov/Dec. Holidays obviously went. I however felt God telling me to go back to Day 13 in Jan. I submitted
Day 26 today.
My mentor is okay. She can be encouraging except when she gave me a hard time about me not being able to fast 24 hrs. I hope no one considers me less spiritual because of it. I just cannot fast more than 2 meals because I am a little hypoglycemic. In addition I still live with my parent and I must confess I don't mind connecting with them at dinner.
My new mentor said I was not disciplined because I chose to eat a dessert before I went into my fast. This stuff really bothers. In addition on my fast days I still need my coffee and I might even drink a little bit of oj. Sometimes my water has to be flavored with lemon juice or even a little bit of oj.

On my liquid days I have to have protein. I either have cream soup or slim fast shakes since I need the protein.

I just signed up to start again. This will be my third attempt. Back in the fall I got as far as lesson 47 and quit. I felt a little unsupported at the time and like I didn't have the will to continue. I am feeling now tho' that this might be a better time to commit.

Hi all,

I'm new to the 3FC forums, but I wanted to drop a word of encouragement here. I did TLT about a year and a half ago with some success. I then decided to start ttc last February, became pregnant a short time later and had my baby girl this January 20th. I'm doing WW now because it is the only way of eating and losing for nursing moms.

I did feel good doing TLT, spent my fast days immersed in His Word. The only thing that derailed me in the beginning was the horrific caffeine withdrawl headaches that came with fasting. A dear friend and sister in Christ recommended taking a caffeine pill on fast day and that did the trick! The headache distracted me and made me unable to focus on the Bible, eliminating it left only the hunger, but that drove me to read more.

God bless all your efforts. You can do anything with His help and for His glory!!

Momofmany,
I am so glad that you are here too!
You are so right!
Jesus said to Martha at the tomb of her dead brother Lazarus:
John 11:39"Take away the stone," he said.
"But, Lord," said Martha, the sister of the dead man, "by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days."

40Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"
When in the world of man there seemed to be NO HOPE, JESUS offers us HOPE and LIFE and HEALING! Lets keeping knocking, lets keep believing and we will eventually see the GLORY OF GOD!
Keep on keepinig on Sisters!
Love in Christ, Gwyn

Gwyn-It is so wonderful to see you are back. I have paryed for you often and I just happened to check in today and there you are! I have missed your stories and your envouragement along the way. I did start TLT for the third time but I must admit I have not done a lesson for a week or so. I have been reading my bible daily and seeking guidance from God about what to do next and I have to wait for His answer! God bless you!

Its nice to see some new people here. This forum was very active for a long time and it kind of dried up-it looks like it's time for some revival. Good luck to the new people come here often and post and ask questions. Take care for now everyone.

God bless! Tracy

Default Lessons

I have more of a work schedule. I therefore don't have time to turn in my lessons. I think my mentor is going crazy. She is accusing me of not spending time in the word. I have. It is easier when I am off work to spend time in the Word. However I can't do it when there is no time.

Steelgirl-I have been partway through 3 times. Don't feel bad. I find it difficult at times to fit in everything I want to and I always feel I should be doing more. I quit my lessons again because I felt I was rushing through them and I would much rather spend time reading my bible each day and praying. Do what works for you. I personally didn't find my mentor gave me enough information to work with. Everylesson said the same thiing "You did good on this lesson." It felt like she wasn't even reading them. Anyway do what you can and pray that God will show you how to get everything done. God Bless you in your journey. Tracy

Hi everyone! I am trying to do TLT but I have only made it to day 8. I have a 3 year old and a one year old and I never have time to sit and read the huge lessons. I started it about 2 months ago and have decided to try to finish this time. I have been reading Joyce Meyers book Look Great Feel Great and I think it is so good. I really think between the 2 maybe I can stay with it this time. I will be the first to admit I love food and I turn to food all of the time. I am doing my best to remember to turn to Him before I turn to the fridge but I'm so used to eating all the time sometimes I just forget. So my main goal for the week is to remember to call on Jesus before I start stuffing my face, even if I give in to the temptation I know the more I focus on Him the easier it will get. I see it's been a while since anyone has posted on here but I am praying that some of you are still around.

Red face First Day

I've never done a Blog before Is that what this is? I just joined 3FC today. I was surfing the web trying to find a way to Change the Way I eat, with a christian perspective and happened upon 3FC. I have tried many other weight loss plans with some success but often fall off the wagon and am back where I started I know right now I am out of control but hope to soon be back on track...I pray I find the encouragement I need from others struggling but making progress. I did go to Setting Captives Free and joined the study, Thank you so much for the information. God Bless You All with a Great Day filled with blessings. Rosie1

Happy 4th! Today I am asking the Lord to prepare my heart for the journey. I feel so out of control. The truth is that I know He will guide my feet, but I have to pick them up first. No more spirit of condemnation...that was broken at the cross.

Default Online weight loss course?

Hi,

I'm a new member, just having joined about a minute ago. I have to admit, the only reason I joined was that you mentioned an online weight loss course, and I've never heard of such a thing. What an AWESOME idea! I want to find out more. Could you tell me?

I'm a physician, and I regularly counsel patients on weight loss to help them take pressure off their arthritic or otherwise painful joints. I've even written a Christian weight loss program that I teach at church workshops. But I never thought of offering an online course.

Could you tell me more about it? Are there others besides the one you listed?

I'd like to be able to reach more people than I'm currently reaching. I studied nutrition and the psychology of obesity at Cornell University, and also lost 75 pounds and kept it off for 25 years (give or take what I gained when I had kids--I had to lose that weight all over again after the baby factory went out of commission).

I'd be happy to speak with anyone on this forum about weight loss, as well, if they express interest.

Default What a cool site.

I poked around a little more since I joined, and see that you guys are doing really great things, here. If I may, I'd like to stick around. I feel very at home when I meet other Christians who deal with these same issues that I've lived with all my life.

Thank you for the encouragement...I am so out of control. I'm like Paul, I do the things I don't want to do. I am not doing so great but I refuse to give up...Today is a new day and with God's help it will be a wonderful day where I refuse to give in to food instead I will reach for him....
