  • Yay, Shad!!!! on losing 2kg!
  • Shad: you deserve to lose those pounds.

I'm seriously thinking about skipping work tomorrow. I've coughed till I feel like I can't cough anymore with out rupturing something internally. I have never coughed like this before. I'm going back to the doctor Thursday. I'm NOT going to Paragould this week end. I need to stay inside.

So far we have just had cold rain. It is freezing on the tree's and power lines.

More later, I absolutley don't feel good again.
  • Oh no Ceejay - not the lurgy again. There are too many people down with this bug this month. Get well soon.
  • Hi Ladies,

Sorry I didn't post earlier. DH drove me to work as I wasn't exactly trusting of the weathermen not to get slick spots - so I had to leave early - didn't even check the computer this morning.

Shad on the weight loss!!! Finally - I know you have been frustrated. Darn weight sticks tighter than fly paper. And I would expect no less of you than to have all the housework done as you are a force to be reckoned with when you set your mind to it. Now I feel like a slacker

Ceejay - you have described the cough perfectly - you feel as if you will hemmorage your eyes or find your lungs coming right out of your mouth - and STILL it's not a productive cough. I too was worried I'd be hurting something serious. At this point, I don't know what to recommend. I still have that water in the nose/drowny feeling that means the sinuses are acting up again. I don't think I can take another antibiotic without serious compromise. I may have to try a neti pot. I hope you feel better - I'm not even sure myself how to treat this - it's not like a regular cold. I see you are right on the edge of the storm - be careful tomorrow.

We are all sitting here with scary anticipation. Huge ice storm, 294 accidents up north. I told DH we should get some wood if the power goes out - we have only 3 logs. Of course I am the planner, he is the "oh nothing's going to happen" grasshopper. I wouldn't mind seeing him be right this time. If we do get ice it wouldn't be more than just a bit to mess traffic up but it is still unwelcome. Don't need power lines snapping or the near hollow bloody gumball trees crashing on the house.

Hope you made it home ok Annie and that the snow accumulation turned out to be more 1 inch than 6.

Michelle - I think for once you caught a much needed break from the weather - you deserve it the way you've been pounded this winter. Stay safe! Did you make it to your exercise class?

    Sending good thoughts to Mel

I think I might try and get to bed a little earlier tonight. Won't really know how it goes until I get up and stick my head out the door tomorrow. Nighty night!
  • hello everyone
Sorry I haven't been posting. Finally found the link lol. I am finally back on track food wise and exercise wise. I do have to take it a bit slow yet so some days it takes all day to do what I need to do but I am getting there. Hope everyone is doing well. For those of us struggling just remember God is right beside us and if we stick with it we will get to where we want to be.
  • Good Snowy Morning Ladies........

WHEW WHOO....woke up to 10 inches of snow and it is still coming down. Expect another 2 to 4". The good news....COMPANY PAID SNOW DAY!! and it doesn't even come out of our compensible days. It is a freebee....

Shad....congrats on the lbs lost. It is all that cleaning and painting and ....that you are doing. Drink lots of RAIN water. hehe

Rennie...glad your back, you can do this, stay focused, we are here for you.

Happy...stay warm and inside and safe.....no job is worth your life.

Michelle...lucky dog, you missed out on this snow storm. I will say it is absolutely beautiful out there. Hella Bella is not like it. I had to toss her out the back door to go potty. She took one step, squatted, and came right back in. I have yellow snow out my back door on the patio. lol

Ceejay...sounds like you need to see a different doc or do something drastic to get better. You poor thing... many big hugs to you.

Not planning much for today, except shoveling snow. At least a path for Bella as I don't want dog doo on my patio. Will try to hit the driveway too. Thank God it is a short driveway, as much as I want a bigger driveway, today it is in my favor.

    MEL...hope you are recovering nicely.

Much Love and Lots of Hugs, and Get Betters to all that need them.
  • Wow...just opened my garage door, the snow is at least 2 1/2 feet deep with drifts or maybe higher. Gonna sit down, watch my morning shows, drink my coffee, then about noon, bundle up, put on my son's work boots he left here, and shovel the sh*t out of things. That should be enough exercise for a few days. Glad I didn't have to go to work, I would of not made it out of the garage and down the driveway. I am really kind of excited about shoveling, isn't that weird? I KNOW I will feel differently afterwards.

Wish me luck, great strength and stamina....lol
  • Good morning chicks,

We got our second snow of the season. Not sure if it was even 1 inch. Looks pretty. That's our 2 snows for the season so we're done We did get a bit of freezing rain before the snow but from what I understand most of the "weather" came in an hour and a half period early this morning. I missed the big fluffy fat flakes this time around.

Geez Annie - 10 inches of snow is a heckuva lot! Hope it's the light stuff and not the heart attack snow. Be careful shovelling. That's fun at first and then when you've been working for 30 minutes and barely made a dent, then it gets frustrating. 10 inches and drifts calls for a snow blower AND building a snowman out front Yes, be glad for short driveways Cool that you got the day off to deal with it.

Welcome back Rennie - that's very true about sticking with things.

I get to work from home today - bless my boss' soul! Good thing as I have lots of analysis to do and the quiet at home is good for that.

What's it look like up your way Ceejay? Feeling any better? This crud just doesn't want to go away. Maybe the freeze will help kill things off.

I hope that other firm contacts you back about the job Shad. Sounds like your economy is imploding too which I guess makes businesses very shaky about spending decisions. We are watching every penny.

I'd better get a move on. Have a good one peeps.
  • Happy
The snow and ice are beautiful. And I'm very very thankful that we still have power. Paragould and Jonesboro were hit hard.

    Shy Moment
So glad to see you back. I've been very concerned about you.

Talked to my aunt last night and while we were on the phone their power went off. She also commented that when he tree limbs were breaking it sounded like fire crackers. This morning I heard that all of Greene County still was with out power. Their 2 sons live with in walking distance so they were making plans to camp out at their house last night. The 5 year old has had what I have but my aunt said she was better. She's been to the doctor 3 times.

I'm home sick today. I called my boss last night and told him I needed a sick day His response was this is short notice. You have been working today you should be able to tomorrow. I left him a note that my bronchitis was back, even though I don't feel any congestion in my lungs just in my sinuses. I'm blowing green this morning and have a headache. If I could have reached through the phone I'd smacked him. I called Brandon and asked him if he could work for me today. He made the comment that I sounded horrible. He didn't hesitate to say yes. Thank you Brandon.

Just a comment, the tree's look like diamonds.
  • An hour into the shoveling and only halfway done....people and snowblowers out there, I am sure are laughing....well back at it. later
  • Hi everyone --

What a crazy busy day today. Trying to work on some big projects and at the same time get existing reports ready for the transition to a new Fiscal Year and a new Season. Lots to do. Lots to do. Gotta make sure every "i" is dotted and every "t" is crossed.

We missed the bad weather (ice and snow). It all went south of us. We got a dusting of flurries...but nothing else. Phew! I'm feeling great and hope it stays this way through the rest of the winter at least. I was sick almost all autumn - through Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm glad I'm healthy again finally.

Ceejay - I hope you stayed home today and are resting. I'm glad you're going back to the doctor - maybe a chest xray would be a good idea. I hate it when you cough so much all your back and rib muscles hurt. I'm glad your co-worker was able to cover for you today. I hope you get over this crud very soon.

Happy - So sorry to hear you're having the same kind of awful, painful cough that Ceejay is having. I hope you're getting your rest. The neti pot might be a good idea. A couple of my co-workers swear by it. I didn't make it to the exercise class. I really need to get back to the gym asap. I'm getting overwhelmed with how much housecleaning I have to do, and I think I should stay home at night and do that...but then I end up not doing it, not going to the gym and being a slug. I'm begging for a butt kick please, ladies! I'm so glad you got to work from home and stay safe and warm today.

Mel - I hope you're doing okay and resting your eyes. Hang in there.

Rennie - So good to see you posting again! We missed you! I'm glad you're back on track with the food and exercise. I'm trying to get there.

Annie - Wow! 10" of snow with 2.5' drifts! I'll bet you're exhausted from shoveling. What a great workout though. At least you got a company paid snow day. Those are awesome! When we get lots of snow or if it's super cold, we have yellow snow and the occasional turd pile on the patio. I don't blame the pups for not wanting to be outside. Shoveling is fun at first, until the back and legs start hurting. Be careful.

Well, I'd better get back to it!

I hope everyone stays safe and warm (except Shad - who I hope stays safe and cool).

    Love and big hugs,
  • Michelle...what a work out....took me 3 hours to shovel the driveway, part of the road, the back porch and some ground for Bella to poo in. I still feel pretty good, but imagine the aches and pains will set in tomorrow. I am now heading for a soak in the tub to warm up and get the crud off. Haven't showered or anything today.

    Love and Hugs
  • Got out to go to the doctor and no one was open. Not even Dr Cullum who is always there. But who could blame them. Stopped by the pharmacy for refills. I also bought some Theraflu. I'm going to see what this does since the doctor's offices were closed.
Walmarts was snowed under and so was mcDonald's. The person at the counter at the pharmacy said that mcd was serving two menu items for breakfast. I wonder what it would be for lunch. I know there has been some power outages in town just don't know where at the moment. I'm hoping they had a delivery truck.
The ice has damaged a lot of tree's.
  • Morning all,
Yesterday was a clear and fine day. It was nice. The humidity dropped and although we sweated through 31C (92F) it wasn't too bad. Today is back to dull and overcast again. It's already 26C at 7.19am so we will have another sweating day today.

Today will be the last of the floor washing and polishing - yahoo - well at least until the next time. The floor might be beautiful but it is not low maintenance. To keep it looking beautiful, it needs a sweep out everyday, a run over with the microfibre mop once a week or so and a good wash about once a month. Lucky I only have a small house. The rest of the day is harrassing the Barbeque shop as the darn thing is not yet delivered, searching for jobs, removing some fast growing weeds before they flower and seed, laundry and some fun trimming and painting in the hall. There were some bits I left because I ran out of time before the floor got laid. Later today I will come to grips with the tile cutter and get on with the splash back and the grouting.

Annie - what exercise you have had. Exercise doesn't have to be a gym or a pool or structured and tortuous. Just pick something that keeps you moving for at least 30 minutes a day.

Renee - welcome back. Sorry to hear of the health problems. I'm sure you will work through this.

Michelle - nothing like an end of year to get the companies tense and excited and demanding. Hope you get all the reporting done and find that things are not too bad.
We never had the problem of the dogs and the cold. Here it was a case of get out, pee, poop, get back into the air conditioning. I miss those dogs.

Happy - I had a long chat with a very fussy recruiter yesterday. I've had to revamp my cv. but I refuse to lie. What I haven't done, I haven't done. The job he is looking at appears that the employers are very fussy and expect their contractors to know everything about everything in SAP. This isn't too many of those around and certainly they wouldn't be trainers because they could earn three times as much being consulting brains. What will be, will be. Dampier have decided there is no money left to do any more training for a while so the two weeks I had been offered is not going to happen in Feb. I am concerned at this stage, but there are still quite a few ads for trainers around, not necessarily in my field but things will happen. If they don't, I may well take some short courses at TAFE or Uni and have some time off.

Ceejay - I'm glad you took our collective advice and decided not to work today. Good work Brandon, but then again, you have covered for him from time to time if I remember rightly. Boooooo to the boss.

Victoria and South Australia are suffering from heat wave. They have a week of temps above 40C (110F) and no sign of relief in sight. Bushfires are breaking out and they are also having power blackouts from time to time. Better ring the DS1 and see if he installed aircon with his Christmas Present money I gave him. Thank heavens we rarely get that sort of heat up here. We only have to deal with extreme humidity, not extreme heat that sears the soles of the feet and burns even the darkest skin the minute it steps out of the shadows.
Gotta go, slept in this morning and need to catch up. Washing machine here I come. See ya
  • Good morning ladies,

I will have to try and get back here at lunchtime as I have no time this morning.

In an effort to "get back on top of things" like Michelle- I am starting with taking 15 or 30 minute sessions to pick up, put things away and declutter or take care of little niggling things that are sitting around waiting to be done. I spent the better part of my free time this morning doing just that so now it's time to pack the lunch and get out the door.

Will be back later to all
