    I confess I have a secret weapon against snacking- nicotine gum.

    I quit smoking recently and love this gum. Keeps my mouth busy.

  • hey ladies sorry I have been out of the picture for a week or so.. I have gone back to work. We have our own business I am still doing the paperwork side of that but I am now working at an outside job. Before our move to Canada I was working for a food industry in the corportate offices I had been with that company for 10 years. I haven't been able to find an office job here so I am now working in a chocolate manufacture company. Rotating shifts it's about to kill me. But I must say seeing all that chocolate every day I think has been the best diet I have ever had LOL makes me not want to eat at all... Well it's almost time for me to go to work I will check in when I can. Have a great day

    well I was slightly naughty yesterday but it didn't change my numbers which is good.
    Today I've done 45 min exercising which I haven't done in a while. Finally TOM is almost gone.

  • Okay, so I had a very good food day today. I kept busy at the parents' and every minute afterward, so no time to snack until now and I haven't caved tonight since I felt so good about how the rest of the day went. I should totally be rewarded on the scale tomorrow. I gotta get to bed. I stayed up too late last night and I don't want that slowing me down!

    aluxa-YAHOO!!! on meeting you goal! That's awesome! Keep on doing what works....very smart to not change anything since it's all helping!

    motivated chickie-I know gum in general is handy for cravings, but I forget when the moment strikes. Gotta remember gum!

    Rashomon-Excellent attitude! You will get there, maybe this month, but even if not there's always next month! Keep it up!

    mystical-I'm not sure I'd handle your job as well as you do...chocolate has become a weakness of mine. Are you enjoying the job? Is it hard to balance everything or not too bad? Hope your still making good healthy choices with your family!

    NightAngel-You behave yourself, woman! You're worth it to be healthy and happy for the rest of your life. I'm glad the scale didn't give your trouble, though. That's always a relief after a naughty time!

    i've lost 5.2 so far this month. thats great! wish it was more but it's better than not doing anything and sitting around not trying to lose weight. i feel good about my loss and hope to see 160 something in the next day or two.
  • onestar-That is great progress! The 160's are right around the corner...

    I hit 133.0 this morning which is very satisfying. I'm headed in the right direction still which feels AMAZING! I'm down more this month than I've lost in a long time...of course my weight was up due to poor eating since moving, so I'm re-losing this weight but I'm within a few pounds of my all-time low again. If I can finish this last week or so of April well, I may be down another pound or 2 by month's end!
  • Good morning everyone!

    I know it seems as though I've dropped off the planet, but we've had some major life stuff going on. DH got laid off...again. Who knew being a welder would make for such hard times in the last few years! Either way he's got a new job to start that will help pay the bills while we wait to hear back on some even better prospects. At least it's not like it was last year where he was unemployed for months. This time he had a new job within a few days and will only be off work for two days. Not too bad, but it's been consuming a lot of time/energy for both of us figuring out what we were going to do.

    Anyhow...on a much brighter note I had my five week update at Herbal Magic and I'm down a staggering 17.8lbs and 30.75" since starting the plan. My official weight yesterday was 201.4, so I'm on track to hit ONEderland by next Friday. They have a great contest going at the HM's accross Canada. For seven weeks as long as you lose 1.6lbs/week and make your three appointments a week you are entered into a draw and they're giving away four all inclusive trips to Paris and $1000 spending cash! Imagine! It's only open to people like me who are in active weight loss and excludes stabilization and maintenance clients. Neat eh!

    My April vegetable is spagetti squash and I'm loving it. Any suggestions for next month ladies? Do you have a favorite veg that I may not have tried? How do you prepare it? Keep in mind I have a fairly strict eating plan, but at the same time can use olive oil and every spice known to man! LOL I'm also really restricted as far as sodium goes.

    Well I'll try to go back and read some posts but judging by Ms P's last update everyone is doing really, really well.

  • Hiya Chicklets, it seems the 179.6 I hit five days ago was a bit of a fluke (it was down 2.2 pounds from the previous day after all). I've been back up 1.8 pounds and working my way back down one tenth of a pound at a time. So today I'm at 180.2 and hoping I'll be able to lose this last three pounds to reach 177 this last week.

    Sorry no time for personals; hopefully this weekend I can catch up. We're going to visit DH's family next weekend for THREE birthday celebrations--one Friday night, one Saturday day and one Saturday night--sheesh! They could at least put them all together so it won't be such exquisite torture. That's going to be hard. They make me want to drink--not because they drive me crazy, but because they're fun! I'll be needing lots of will power dust to sprinkle in all my clothes.

  • Motivated chickie: you have lost a lot this month! I also find helpful not to eat between meals.

    Rashomon and Luciddepths: I think that it is more important to keep trying no matter if we will make our goal by the last day of the month or a few days later.

    Tamaraj: I’m sorry to hear about your DH situation. About vegetables, I love artichokes but that is because I ate them since I was a child. I only broil them and eat them with vinegar or lemon. I also eat spaghetti squash with homemade sauce (peeled tomatoes cooked with garlic, basil, and oregano).

    Ma26: and this place has been a great inspiration and help for me!

    I have achieved my April goal so I will see if I can achieve my second official mini goal by the end of the month
