  • Hi, all. Was extremely tired all weekend and did not go to either of the film festival films I bought tickets for. The problem with the festival is that even if you have bought tickets ahead of time you have to show up at least an hour early and stand in line to get in. i just wasn't up to that. Will take the fatigue up with my doc tomorrow. We had a blustery chilly weekend. It's a little warmer today but the wind seems to have picked up since this morning. My bgl was 170 this a.m. About the average lately.
Meowee - Hope you're still enjoying your sun.
Jeanne - I envy your bgl reading. What kind of fish did you catch?
I, too miss Rosey and send her .
  • i again,,just finishing up dinner and had a few before hubby gets home,,Rosetta we fish for about anything but yesterday was trout,I am spoiled now and don't like to pick around the bones,,ha,,but sometimes we do keep them if they are more than just caught on the lip,,then if we don't eat them I give them away,,geez I sure hope you get some good answers from your doctor,,are you getting your aic reading when you go in ?,,just really hope everything works out for you,,I know you haven't felt that great for a while,,do you like your doctor and is he easy to talk with ?,,anyway will be thinking of you and let us know the out come,,,,GOOD LUCK !!!,,again Rosey (:
  • Good Morning, Sweeties . . .

I probably won't be around much for the rest of this week . . . but, you never know, I might find a computer while I'm in Ontario.

Hope everybody has a great week and that ROSEY is back posting by the time I return.

  • Meowee have fun in Ontario,,see you when you get back,,bs way up this a.m 170,,urrr,,just ckecked it a few minutes ago and down to 130 so go figure,,ha,,not a lot going on here just getting things wrapped up so I can work the rest of the week,,,Rosetta,,did you find out anything yet from the doctor ?,,and Rosey (: ok have a great day all,,,Jeanne
  • Hi, all. Just got back from my annual poking & prodding. My A1c is up, as expected. It was 5.8 in January and is 6.1 now. Microalbumin up (protein and kidneys). Will see my endo next week who will not be pleased. Otherwise everything is okay. Doc says the fatigue is caused by my weight and chronic sleep problems. Since the gastritis attack I've been eating much better so hopefully that will continue and my fatigue will lessen.
Jeanne - I buy trout once in awhile, but being a city girl, mine comes cleaned and boneless. I hope your bgl goes down again.
    Meowee - enjoy Ontario.
  • Good morning all,,part cloudy/sunny here this morning,,Rosetta your aic wasn't bad,,my numbers run pretty good and mine was 6.7 ,,my doctor would faint if mine ever got to 5.8 ,,I know it is higher but still in good range ? What does that work out to average ? my 6.7 is 161 average,,with all my highs and lows at night,,anyway am glad to hear that most of the test are good and that you are eating right ,that will really help,,,I had to go off Metformin a few years ago because of the protein/kidney,,and it controled my bs better than any other oral drug,,he won't put me back on it now even for a try,,urrr,,my bs this morning was 121 so down,,work today,,,Meowee hope you are having a good time,,Rosey (: to you !!! later all pretty silent here where is everyone else,,come on out (:,,,,Jeanne
  • Hi, all. Sunny low wind day so far. I have to skip another lunch hour to make up for time taken for doc's appt yesterday. Makes the day very long. jeanne, I think my average is in the 160s too. Why won't your doctor prescribe Metformin, especially if it lowers your bgl?
    Have a good day.
  • Hi guess it's just you and me Rosetta,,ha,,I was on glucovance and it worked really well and didn't promote wt gain,,but it was hurting my kidneys is what he said,,the number did go almost out of range on the kidney but never over the top,,I have asked him to try it again but he won't hear of it,,I think maybe I wasn't drinking enough water at the time ,,,my bs this a.m, was 100 on the nose,,sorry to hear you are having to make up the doctors appointment,,no lunch does make for such a long day,,I just eat mine between customers,,(:,we have the best food in town,,and it is so hard for me to stay on track at work,,cloudy and over cast today,,hope yours is better ,,have a great day,,hi Meowee,,and Rosey !!! and everyone else who wanders through,,,Jeanne
  • Hi, Jeanne. It's sunny but breezy here. It's been very windy for May. This has been a cooler spring that usual. Okay with me. I looked up Glucovance. It's metformin with glyberide. It does say there could be kidney problems. I'm afraid my endo is going to put me back on glyberide as well. I am taking 7 medications and don't need another. It must be hard to be around good food all day and try to stay on track. Once a week at my office they have morning donuts/bagels/muffins. They're not that great so I can pass. Wonder where all the other posters went?

  • Hi, all. Happy Friday! Where is everyone?
Mel - Welcome to this thread. I am Type 2 and take Actos and Glucophage. Still have trouble controlling my blood sugar and my weight. Tell us more about yourself. There are some information threads under the Diabetes Support forum which you might find useful.
  • I am 30yrs old and i recently left my job which was working in a nursery. when i worked there my blood sugars were really high and i was not taking my metaformin and insulin on a night. Also i binge eat when stressed or bored which doesn't help me at all. I think a good kick up the butt is what i needed and i am going to do this for me and my family, i would like too see my family grow up they are my world and it is a great help to have people who are in the same boat as me to talk to. Hi rosetta thank you for eplying to me.
  • Good Morning . . . . . . I'm back.

to our little group of Sugar Babes, MEL . . . you are definitely not alone in this. We are all here for you, Chickie, and will try to answer any questions you may have as well as just providing shoulders for you to lean on.

It was a wonderful little mini-vacation but I'm very glad to be home to my own bed. Slept like the proverbial log last night. Of course, I'm also back to crappier weather -- Ontario was quite a bit warmer and is the greening-up ever ahead of ours. Oh well, I do have one lonely tulip and a few bits of yellow at the base of my forsythias and I think I see a couple of buds on the lilacs . . . spring will get here.

Amazingly enough, the scale showed me a lower number than he handed be four days ago in spite of my salt and carb debacle while away (good grief, my ankles are still swollen). Maybe he missed me and is trying to be nice.

I think the cats also missed me, but who can really tell with cats. Everything seems pretty normal this morning. Well, except for the BGL -- we won't even talk about that number. Hopefully things will be better in that department after I get a few days of more sensible (read no more rich desserts) under my belt.

Anyway . . . hope each and every one of you has a great and glorious day on the go . . . see you soon . . . keep things moving and shaking.
  • Happy Mother's Day . . .
  • Good Monday Morning to all . . .

Life is almost back to normal around here -- both the BGL and the weight have blipped back down to better levels -- now I just need to get rid of the residual yeast infection brought on by all those marvellous desserts consumed in such a short space of time. Some diabetics (me) should know better.

    See you all later . . .
