I was hoping for the whoosh fairy after the .8 loss last week (TOM etc.), but she didn't show up, but still, not bad.

I lost 3 pounds last week. Pretty good for doing the walking in the evening and then 3 weight lifting workouts.

How often do you guys measure the inches? I lose a bit each week, but its not much, so I'm thinking I need to not do that except once a month.
I measure inches every 6-8 weeks usually when I have a low loss for 2 weeks in a row..it really cheers you up and puts things in perspective for me

Thanks, kmstacy. Yep, I think waiting to measure will make me happier to see larger lost inches than the smaller ones. Thanks for your info!

I only measure my right thigh. As a pear shape, that is my biggest fat deposit, and it doesn't fluctuate with whatever I ate or bloating or whatnot. I measure once a week, which really helps in those times when the scale doesn't seem to be moving. It's great to see the steady progress - usually 1/4 to 1/2 inch a week.

Three pounds is a great loss! In my body that's a WHOOSH

I actually get measured every week - bust, waist, hips, thigh, and arm. Those little bits of inches add up!

Thanks, Scorbett! I really wish I had more weeks behind me, so I could really judge what is standard for losing for me, as I am adding in the exercise, and I don't want to screw it up (I am drinking an extra protein drink after the exercise). Especially with this 30 by Thanksgiving pledge.

You're doing great with your loss and with all your advice here!
