She is 19 and started at 229, she has never been below 200 for at least 6 yrs, she has lost 20lbs and 28 inches so far but i am worried for her, she lost no weight last week and she stepped on the scale this morning and still no loss, i dont want her to get discouraged, she is getting her water, salt and oil intake daily. Do you think her body is just saying "haha, i aint going any farther" any info would be helpful to pass on to her, thanks again novak and everyone else on this wonderful forum
Remember why we store fat in the first place... we are built to cover those periods when we don't have food available. Think tribal. Hunting and gathering and such.
Not sure what day she started, but about 4-5 weeks in, it's common for your body to say, "Okay, is this fat-burning deal legit, or are we about to take down a wooly mammoth here?" Update that to, "Are you joking, or what?" If she just presses on with the protocol, her body will get the message and decide it's for real. Honest. Don't worry. It will work.
This of course, assumes that she's not getting extra carbs, either inadvertently or as a cheat. Does she use Ketostix to make sure she's still in ketosis? Has she added restricted IP items to her food intake? It's always smart to check into those things when you hit a snag, but don't get discouraged.
Look at how far she's come already. It's awesome! I found that sometimes my slowest weight loss weeks turned out to be the highest inches lost. And I think sometimes your body just needs to catch up with itself. So my advice is to stay on course and don't stress (that ALSO can affect weight loss.) The result will come as quickly as your body needs to get the job done. And keep checking in here for support. Lots of people have faced this issue... or just about any other you might run into!
