bs was 143 this am,,am up to the 10 mg now on my byetta,,side effects are starting to go away slowly,,but at least going away,,i don't find myself wanting to eat as much,,but it was like that before 2 years ago and that slowly went away also,,ha,,hope it hangs around this time for a while,,

to the group. You are absolutely right that you have to get a handle on your diabetes as soon as you can. I hid my head in the sand for a long time when I was first diagnosed (about 20 years ago) and believe me it does not go away, it will only get worse. I test 3 or 4 times a day just to have an idea how my day is going. Always before breakfast and then either before lunch or before dinner and usually at bedtime to decide if I need a snack or not. I think nine is a little obsessive.
You'll wear out your fingers. BTW -- just another little tip, or two . . . I use a finger a day and rotate them throughout the month (and whatever the heck on months with 31 days.
