Laura - Since you're back at work this week, is it at least quiet? From hearing the plans of most of the people I work with, it's going to be a skeleton crew in my office this week.
Mel - Glad you had a weekend with little to report!! I hope there's not too much drama/stress with Richie's kids. Awww, Mellie, I'm so angry at the a**hole who told you your book was crap!! And so sad that you shredded it! Unless critics have constructive criticism that you can "take under advisement", don't listen to 'em. I'd love to hear what it was about. My book may turn out to be crap too...but hopefully not. The premise is sort of autobiographical (so far). Hey one of my fave writing teachers always said to write about what you know.
Bummer about George going to the hospital. I hope he's ok. Ceejay - Bummer that your workdays have been busy...but it makes the time pass quicker I guess. Glad to hear you have 4 days off! How exciting about your nephew's engagement and your other nephew's SO is expecting!! And congrats to your sister on the new job!! I am doing the happy dance right there with ya', sista!
Annie - I'm glad you had such a nice time with your family and the baby. It was great to talk with you yesterday.
Bummer that Curtis' daughters didn't want to spend more time. There will come a time when they will regret not being more about family when they were younger. I know I do...and now I'm all about family. But I do regret not spending more time with my Mom and Dad. DMIL's sister (DH's aunt) has grandkids that are the same way...they're all adults and have their own plans/parties to attend. They show up...eat...exchange presents, get $$ from grandma and then are out the door less than 2 hours later. This year was a little better, and the grandkids actually included others in their conversations rather than just talk amongst themselves. Oh well. Hopefully, someday they'll appreciate their loved ones more.
Too funny about "Latte" being a color nowadays! So cute that baby Jake will be in the wedding!! Bravo sista for getting back into diet/exercise! I'm doing pretty good with the healthy eating...though not perfect with all the holiday treats around (but I'm keeping sweets to a minimum). I'm going to get back into exercise just as soon as I can which will depend on post-procedure pain. I used to snore bad (kept DH awake). Turns out I have sleep apnea, even though I know that not all snoring is sleep apnea. Now as long as I use my mask, I don't snore at all so we both sleep better. Shad - So nice to have your mother's tea set...and how thoughtful of the flight attendant to pack the soft backpacks around it. How nice that DS2 is building a new garden shed!! How would he feel about coming to the States this spring and building one for us?
I got a chuckle out of your comment about us lot putting the month before the day!! Yup, that we do.
I loved the photos! Thanks for the explanation of the statue. Chris has such a lovely garden!! And the view from Mt. Victoria is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing the photos!!Happy - Just saw on FB that you made it home safely. I hope you had a wonderful time with Mom and the rest of your family and friends.
Well, DH will be here soon, and then we have to leave.
I'll try and check in later!
Much love and many hugs,

First of all I had so much trouble with this site hanging with the ads that I had to download and install Firefox. Then I spent about 20 minutes typing a post when all of a sudden I must have hit the touchpad on the laptop and once again the site hung. However with Firefox I can see what it's doing and it was hanging trying to get data from an ad - just as I suspected. So of course I lost my post. This will have to be an abbreviated re-post.
It's good to be back home again and with the holidays almost behind us, I'm looking forward to being able to focus and finish up the unpacking and work in some retirement time to hit up the craft / activity box as well as a big box of books to read. I also found a new organizer app on my laptop - cozi dot com - free app with ads that has an organizer, journal, calendar and to do list which will help keep me organized.
I'm glad to hear you had a nice holiday.
How is your Diverticulitis WOE coming along? I'm so glad that your sister got the nursing job she wanted. What happy news.
Sorry to hear you missed the rose parade at home. I hope they still have a few more blooms left for you.
I have one errand to run today...Walgreens...to pick up eye drops for Doppler, but I'm just going to go through the drive thru. I don't want to overdo it like I did with my last procedure on Thanksgiving. Thank goodness for audio books and movies!
How did the time get away so quickly? Oh well, it's been a wonderfully relaxing time.
and that might make a difference. I can see not wanting to drive anymore once you made the 8 hour drive, especially in the city. So many cars, and all the drivers are busy texting! So nice that you'll now be able to continue getting settled and kick back and enjoy your new home and retirement.

I REALLY HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER. SINUS INFECTIONS REALLY DO KNOCK THE STUFFING OUT OF YOU.
USE IT WISELY!!!
THEN I WILL BE A VERY HAPPY CAMPER!! HOPE IT HOLDS EVERYTHING YOU TWO HAVE AND ALSO KEEPS THE BUGGERS WHO STEAL OPUT!!! PUT BARS ON THE WINDOWS!!!

I AM DONE FOR THE DAY WITH WORK. JUST NUISANCE STUFF FOR THE WEEKEND. WE STILL HAVE AN ELEVATOR DOWN AND NO ONE COMING TILL TUESDAY. SIGH. LET US PRAY THE ONE WORKING KEEPS WORKING.
