We had a mostly wet week, but the weather turned on Thursday, and it's been beautiful ever since - sunny, with almost no humidity, and temps in the mid-seventies. Heavenly! Tomorrow it's supposed to be back up to 90-something, and humid again. No fun, that, but we'll probably head for the lake for at least a couple of hours. I have attached a picture of me with my daughters last night - and one of the birthday girl. I swear 40 is the new 30....or something. I don't know - my girls all still seem to look so young to me - I can hardly believe how old they're getting. Seems to me that they're hardly out of their teens. Ah, well. Oh, changed my avatar pic, too....thought I'd get a jump start on September, and I like how PT changes hers every month.Ooooh, Mary! I hope you haven't lost too many of your feathered friends! I envy you your garden, though. Especially your tomatoes. Everybody knows that I will even stoop to STEALING to get myself a nice, fresh-picked tomato! I guess I'd better start growing some, eh?
Karen3, May I come for cheesecake & coffee, too? I promise to behave and not to try to get more than my share! I'm glad you're feeling better, too!
Rosey, all that rain would have me climbing the walls. I'm glad to hear that you're more resilient than I am when it comes to the weather. (I guess most people are, come to think of it!)
PT, I will never be entirely ready for re-entry, but I'm resigned to hanging in there for a while longer. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.....remember that child's book, "The Little Engine that Could" (I think that was the name of it?)...well, I just think of myself as that engine...huffing and puffing my way to the finish line. (And speaking of children's books...any new writing that I should know about? Hmmm?)
Toonses, I hope you're having a lovely day with the family!
Bobbi, I hope your grandson's going away party doesn't wipe you out like my daughter's birthday did me! Omigawd, that joke was hilarious. Made me giggle out loud. It sounds like something my sister would do. She's goofy like that.
Freda, SO good hearing from you! And every one here values your friendship as well, you know! I've been wondering what you were up to. Glad to hear all is well. Oh, the fresh sweet corn and tomatoes! To DIE for! I can make a meal just with the corn and tomatoes, but usually have to do some kind of meat or fish or something for DH.
Lynn, you're right back on track, lady! Way to go! (Wish I had half your determination!)
I'm feeling very sad about Isabella. I do hope that we hear back from her sometime.
Hi Gayle and Karen31! (I know I'm probably missing somebody and if so, I apologize in advance...pretty tired here, and headed right to bed momentarily.)
Have a nice rest of the weekend,
