Hi everyone!! Had a really nice weekend. Fiance came into my place again for the weekend. I got all my flowers planted Fri. evening and can't wait for them to start to fill in. Had nice cool temps, too. Actually had to turn the heat on!! We are hoping for some rain later in the week. Still in drought here, although my area got 1.5 inches last week.

Had lots of off-plan stuff to eat over the weekend, but kept portion sizes reasonable. We went out for Italian food Saturday afternoon and it was so good. Just what I've been wanting. When my plate got to the table, I immediately put half into a take-home container and ate it for supper Sunday. Lemon Rosemary Chicken. I looked it up for calories and it wasn't as bad as I had expected, esp. for half servings. Fiance and I also did some shopping that day and just had a real nice time.

Our OKC Thunder won this weekend and we are moving on to the final four in NBA playoffs!! I'm not a huge basketball fan, but I just had to jump on the bandwagon...things are pretty exciting around here.

Knees and other issues were good this morning. I only had time for 2 miles exercise this morning, so I'm going to shoot for the 5 mile in the morning. It's getting to bed early that I have problems with. I'll try to get in bed by 9:30 tonight.

Apassionato-So glad you are recovering. Did the doctors say you have a blocked artery or blood clots or anything? What caused the heart attack itself? Hope you are at home and comfortable.

Running errands and stuff today. I'm hopeful that the Power Tower exercise/barre I ordered will arrive today, but sometime this week for sure. Bad news on the plumbing end, they got the fixtures and pipes changed but it didn't fix our problem, which is a clogged drain. Somebody let their nylon scrubbie glove go down the drain and its stuck. Draino and the like won't help because its not organic. The tub/shower drains but very, very slowly; so I can tell this is going to be a long drawn out thing.

Good day! I'm off at home today - not feeling great/not wanting to stray too far from the bathroom. But have eye dr. appt this afternoon, too. Nice day today - wish it'd been here on the weekend as I'm not hanging out outside.

Weekend went well - was busy from morning until night both days, though. Really need to do a spring cleaning around here.

Cold again last night - we put the heater back on (well, I put the heater back on after adding a quilt to the bed last night) ... It was a hot walk on Saturday and then yesterday it was raining and chilly. I guess that's what spring is, huh?

Saw the scale drop yesterday morning, now will wait to see it another morning before believing it! Keeping my fingers crossed - guess I should limit the snacking to see it again. hm.

Anyone have fun Memorial Day plans yet?

PP-Ugh, sounds like a huge plumbing headache. I had the minor one last week with the hot water heater pilot light going out. They finally found out it was the thermocouple (just like you said, NP), but they didn't charge me for the second visit to fix it correctly. It was still $90!

NP-We don't have any big plans for Memorial Day but I'm sure grilling will be in the picture sometime. Boys will be with their Dad and I will be at fiance's....or he may just come in here...whichever. I don't like literally going anyplace on holiday weekends. Last time we went camping on Labor Day I swore I would never do it again.

just a quick fly by till i can catch up. gong show weekend, gong show monday morning, son forgot to do important errand before he left town for 2 weeks for work so I had to do it, busy aat work. Good Food day today, and most of yesterday. Took a walk at lunch now I am ready for a nap big time.

Raining here again for the 4th day, not supposed to stop til maybe Saturday, flood warnings are in affect. This is the worst spring weather that I can remember.

I didn't feel good at 7am. this morning, broke out in a cold sweat. My pajamas were drenched, felt like I was going to pass out. It was low blood sugar, I used to get it alot in my 20's when I started dieting, it was even like that in my 30's when I wasn't dieting, it stopped when I started eating clean & losing weight. I've been eating this way for almost 3 yrs., never had a problem with it til today, I don't get it. I eat lots of fruit which is plenty of sugar. I barely made it to the fridge to get a plum, I sat down, took three bites and I was already feeling better. I didn't want to get it again while driving my daughter to school, so hubby took her. I knew someone that got low sugar while driving, she drove off the road, through a fence and was killed. It scares me to know I have to watch out for this, i guess I have to take a plum everywhere I go now just incase, isn't that stupid?

The past 4 days I've been trying something different, no sweet stuff is off limits anymore, I'm more flexible with myself. I think this will prevent the binge I usually have once a week. If I go over calories, cause I ate something that looked really good or I was craving, so be it. Going over calories by 500 is nothing compared to binging on 4000 calories worth. I need to start trusting myself, if I know I can buy that piece of cake that looks delicious, continue with eating clean for the rest of the day and be satisfied, i will be happy. I don't even want junk food everyday anyway, i naturally always want my good food, I know how my mind & body works by now. When I see it as forbidden for almost a week straight, binges happen.

So my weekend was nice, but busy. Losing weight slowly because I am eating sweets when I want it, but I have to want it really bad or it's not worth it to me. Lost 2 lbs. exercised for 20 min. & did good yesterday & today with calories. Even had some sweets Saturday, and 2 mini peanut butter cups today, that was enough to satisfy. I know I'm depressed & angry alot because I have to restrict what I eat, I can't enjoy life watching everyone else eat the stuff that I want. It's time to live!

Agree!! I think that just might work! I've tried to do the same. But for the last couple of months I've allowed a little too much for myself.

Me and my younger son went for a walk around the park after supper tonight. Took the dog. It was nice. Now there is a gorgeous yellow moon rising in the east. Such a lovely day. Had a nice healthy supper (grilled orange chicken, orange/almond rice and steamed sugar snap peas w/ a little butter) with the boys and older son's girlfriend. They went and got milkshakes and I had a kiddie size one. Didn't need it, but it sure tasted good!

FL and Annie I am totally with you about having a small treat enough to satisfiy. I had a baleys latte at home on sunday and enjoyed every sip. and I have a drawer of hershy kisses and a couple lindtdor chocolates at work, now only to stick to having one or two!

Annie - awesome on the bs..... it occured to me the abbreviation for bathing suit was bs.... then I could not stop laughing as that is how i feel about it now.

small victory yesterday, I had a few very stressful moments, well probably a couple hours, but I did not eat cause of it. Normally I would give up and just eat to deal with the stress but instead I yelled at my husband and swore, so then i had to go back and apologize although technically it was his fault as he almost hit a pedestrian as we were turning cause he didn't see her , right in front of a police car .. .. sighhhhhh, and she was j walking so technically not hubbys fault either.

so to add to the emotions and food, what do you all think are better ways to deal with our anger, sadness, stress to keep from eating? i know exercise is a good one, and so is booze (lol) but that creates another problem altogether. I find when I am good with food I am not as nice a person....

I have to give credit for my victory over food yesterday to God. I have been praying for a long time about this.

awesome thanks Annie! I just had a memory after reading that of grade 6 band class, (long long time ago) and how we were taught to breath like that. I thought is was kind of silly at the time but hey i was 12.

Had a wonderful tomatoe cucumber and turkey open face sandwhich, and the tomatoes for some reason tasted heavenly.

I am so happy my view is once again green out my office window and the trees have sprouted their leaves, it looks amazing!

Annie- I'm afraid I'll do the same, I don't want to over indulge. Weight gain will happen for sure.

Raining again, in the 60's. So I rode the bike for 20min. Both my knees were stiff as a board last night, it was hard to get up from the sofa. I made sure to sit down at 9pm til bedtime, I needed to rest the knees.

Weight went up 4 oz. I am doing good with calories, i don't get it. Unless it's the sweets I eat occasionally. I was mad cause I kept within my calories and still gained. Today was not a good eating day, figured I gained for no reason, so I'll eat what I want, then I'll at least have a reason for a gain! It was stupid thinking, I went overboard and just ate what I wanted til about 3pm.( P.B & junk food) that's it for me the rest of the day. Gotta get back on track, I doubt I'll want any crappy food tomorrow. Maybe i won't step on the scale in the morning!

Fruitlady-I mean this in the most friendly way possible. I must be honest with you. FOUR OUNCES up on the scale is NOT a weight gain. FOUR POUNDS....maybe...maybe not. Our bodies process so much fluid and foods and fibers and poop and pee in a day....Please don't beat yourself up over 4 ounces. It is painful to watch. Again....I say this with much kindness and camaraderie in our journies here.

Hello all - another gray, rainy, drizzly day here. I write that too often - ready for a weather change. Or you're ready for me to start with something more interesting, huh?

Looking forward to seeing the scale drop a little - I'm up a bit but know that it's a reaction to sodium the past few days, but kind of want to watch it to make sure that it's trending down here soon.

FL - Before I read Annie's post, I saw your mention of four oz. as a weight gain and felt a twinge of sadness for you to view it that way - our bodies will NEVER EVER be the same weight day after day - scales that read 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 are possibly the worst thing to have for folks with weight issues. You wouldn't notice it if it were only reading in a two-pound range. I hope you take these notes in the manner they're written - meant to try to lift the burden of guilt from you on miniscule differences in your daily weight. To live out the rest of your life worrying about mere ounces or a couple of pounds will be a tortured life. And you deserve so much more. Can your hubby put the scale in his safe for a week, along with that jar of peanut butter and just bring it out once a week for you to stay on track that way? You're suffering mentally over something that is just our bodies regulating themselves, as Annie said.

Now to work - hope to walk at lunch if the rain has stopped. Forgot all my walking clothes but in pants that aren't too long, so will throw on sneakers and just get out there. Smart move for me to leave my older sneaks here at my desk. Gets rid of my excuses

Hey gang! Having a good day here today. Hoping to stick to plan all day and evening. Younger son and I went for a walk around the park again last night with our dog.

I may take it easy this evening and just watch my shows. Although I've noticed lately that when I am busier with something to do....cleaning, etc....that it is easier not to want to snack. I may try to do some laundry or something on commercials. May mulch my backyard planters, too.

NP-Great idea to keep that pair of shoes at work!!

NP - I keep a pair of walking shoes at work - take walks when i can during the day just to get some movement going - desk jobs can be deadly - although not as bad with the stand up desk i have

finally feel like i'm into the 140s.. at 148 not just bairly below the 150s but ready to work my way through.
