Hi folks, just thought I'd drop a note. I have been following.
Aphil, I remember starting outfits for three neices for Christmas one year. My machine broke. On Christmas day, I explained to the one that didn't get an outfit, that it would be coming soon. I heard her ask her mother if the broken machine was true or if Aunt Susan didn't like her. It broke my heart!
I like Shape magazine, there's a little ditty in it that reminded me of all those who have a tiny slip up in eating. It says something about not letting one binge turn into a spiral out of control for several days. Noteworthy.
I'd like to report on my fumbling with weights. I think I started about the 18th of August. It's amazing! I'm truly amateur. I try any old thing. I don't even always use weights, just the movements. I've only lost maybe a pound and a half or two but the difference in my front is amazing. From under my bra strap to my knees ... seriously. It's awesome! I've been told my backside is coming along too , Lord knows it surely hurts some days.
I would never have dreamed ... slack, flabby OLD me! It feels wonderful.
And I'm eating more and still losing! Yee haw!
When's Holly's big day?

I found this on the Maintainer's forum - "Doin' it the Old Fashioned Way" http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/...in603481.shtml

It's a link to an article about Newman from Seinfeld. He's lost 100 pounds. Under the article is also a link about Jared of Subway fame.

Hello hello!! so good to hear from everyone!

debbie, welcome back! Glad it was a good trip; but isn't it nice to return home again.

Skyfirefly, you are doing so well!! What will power to have the pria bar and fruit instead of the sub! Yes, it does get easier after time overall, but there will still be those days when one is tempted. But then it's a little easier to resist, 'cause the bod is lookin' better!

SusanB, YAY to you for your weight use!!! and that you can SEE the difference - isn't that the greatest?!

jacklyn, hi!! WTG on 17 pounds, and your hubster's 30!!!

aphil, hiya! "mad scientist working" balloon above your head is what I envision with you and your designs Hey, do you think Callenetics are actually something like Pilates? Nice find on those videos!

My final, and most exhausting, makeover stuff was today! Unfortunately, the stylist didn't have time for color or highlights - but I think the cut came out fab! As you'll see in the pics, though, it lost a bit of it's volume during the course of the day (cut was 8:30; makeup after that; arrived at the studio 11:00; finished all shots at 4:00 pm)

I tried to ask questions from the makeup girl, as to what she was doing, so I could try to recreate. She used Aveda products. I learned that I shouldn't use dark shadow in my eyelid crease, because as I have slightly deepset eyes, that dark shadow would tend to make them recede more. I can do a light shadow there instead. She also recommended a brow wax. Even though my brows aren't heavy at all; rather light, in fact, she said a wax would neaten them more, and open up a bit more eye area. She also used a powder to line my eyes, as opposed to a pencil-type that I currently use.

The hair - lots of hair was on the floor!! But it was good to hear the guy say that I don't have any gray to worry about. I watched as he used the blow dryer - just pointing UP. Then lots of scrunching...no curling iron! I sure hope I can re-create it tomorrow!

At the shoot, I met the other makeover models - a girl about 22 (who lived way out in the country, and wanted to be a bit more glamorous) - a woman about 50-ish, and I'm not sure what her desires were, but she got some nice outfits picked out - a guy whom I don't know what his desires were either - I was a little nervous at first to ask everyone.

Anyway, the coordinator had a schedule and hanger bags with all our appointed outfits. We were in a private home that the bottom floor was 1/2 regular home, 1/2 professional studio. We all took turns getting shot with our different outfits.

Aside from the initial nervousness, it was fun! The photographer was GREAT - thanks, Andy!! He was so patient, especially with me, as this was not anything I've ever done, and I was pretty wooden at first.

Hopefully I can attach pics below!!

So the cut was free; the skincare consult was free; and upon the end of the shoot, we all got a goodie bag with skincare products (mini-sizes, still great) some coupons for 25% off stuff, and two one-day ski/snowboarding passes for this winter! (each pass would be worth at least $50.00)

Molly, who was the writer assigned to me, and was with me all my shopping days.

She made it her personal duty to fluff me between shots. WTG, Molly!

Holly good out look there! I like your spirit! I really messed up this afternoon I should of never baked those halfmoon cookies. My grandaughter wanted cookies for school and I have to say they were good. How can a baker not try her own baking not once but two times. Oh but they were soooo goood! But get back to reality now! I did use lt. sour cream that was one good thing. I don't think those cookies are as bad as some I could of eaten. But all in all I should of stayed away from them. I sent most of them home with my daughter and wrapped the others up.
One hour at a time now I'd better straighten up and fly right! No more goodies today thats for sure.
Hope everyone has had a pleasant weekend. I went to a few great garage sales and a nice Fall craft show with about 100 crafters. Its juried show so nice stuff! I found a really neat blown glass necklace on an a silver snake chain from Italy. I was very tempted but with a trip to Seattle next month decided maybe next year I'd get that necklace instead. Got a few ideas for Fall decorating and Christmas too! I have started to shop a bit for Christmas already. I have a big family and it keeps getting bigger more to buy for. Have a nice day everyone!

thank you, aphil!! but I'm having a hard time getting it to look like it did when Glenn did it It does get quite flattened by the helmet. Lots of shaking and finger fluffing are required after a ride, lol!

The product samples are "Dr.Hauschka Skin Care" - anyone know of them? "Unique, holistic approach to skin care" they say.

Default Hi Everyone

I am taking a big step today!!! I am going to do it before I think about it anymore!!! I have been messing up too much recently and I have decided that I am going to make my fitday account public. I know that if there is a chance that anyone might see what I am eating every day that I will straighten my act up. So here it is,

http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJ...=debbiejarrell

Holly, you look fantastic in your pictures!!!

debbie - congrats on the big step of going public! Is today's listing close to what you usually have? Do you still have one more meal for today? If that's all for today, the calories are under 800, and that's not much. And you're a usual exerciser, aren't you? I don't want to make "spot" criticisms on just one posting...but exercise is always great...and if you only have a rice krispie treat once in a great while, that's okay. Maybe some straight lean protein, chicken, tuna?

got some more makeover pics here:

You can see that girl Molly's fingers in my hair every minute!!

Holly, I love the pictures. You look great in them.

I have one more meal for the day and a snack before bedtime. I think I will have a big grilled chicken salad for my dinner with low fat dressing or some pasta with chicken and a vegetable. Spot criticisms are kindly accepted. I work out tonight, 35 minutes on the Precor and 25 minutes of weight lifting and exercises.

Hello Everyone! I am back and ready to start back with WW tonight! I have been reading alot here about the CORE plan and I think I can do it. I want to get rid of the 25# that I put back on since I reached goal in Jan. I want to do it once and for all, I know it's bad for the heart to yo-yo...and good advice out there????

Hi all! I wanted to stop in and mention how wonderful Holly looks too!
I'm having an awkward day. I worked, did most of what I wanted to do with legs and then my tummy started acting up. I feel awful. Shift work is hard on your innards.
The real good news is that my DH had protein powder and flax seed in his oatmeal this morning and right now he's out roller blading. How good is that?
Gotta run ... no pun intended
