As long as they are healthy I'd definitely take it! :)

Morning Ladies!

So, at 4 weeks, I got my first lovely shot of morning sickness this morning! Yuck...I don't know if I can take 12 weeks of this! I guess just keep looking towards the light at the end of the tunnel...

I am heading out to Vancouver this weekend, and am wondering if I should ask my Dr for a Diclectin (sp?) prescription when I see her tomorrow, just in case I need it out of province...has anyone else used it? Or maybe it's called something different in the US?

jahjah - I'm with Gale! If the babes are healthy, a few weeks shaved off can't hurt!

Gale02 01-06-2010 12:27 PM

skinnywish, take heart about the morning sickness. You may not end up with 12 solid weeks of sickness. I only had about 6 with my last one, from 6-12 weeks pg. It's different for everyone, some people are only sick for a few weeks. And for some it stays pretty mild, too.

skinnywish 01-06-2010 02:00 PM

Thanks Gale! My sister was sick with both of her babes for 16 weeks, so I'm hoping that I'm not the same!

I just feel...blah! I haven't thrown up since this morning, but just have a general feeling of ickiness...lol..if that's a word! I wish I could go home from work and take a nap!

hi everyone still doing good I know I said it before but I am going to say it again, I'm glad the holidays are over and things are getting back to normal at least with the eating I am still having a hard time getting it in me to exercise I might start going to the mall and walking there. It's way to cold and slippery to walk outside here.

I had that, I described it as constantly feeling carsick. No fun, I hope it passes sooner rather than later!

Gale02 01-06-2010 05:37 PM

Ugh, I forgot how early the indigestion and heartburn sets in. Blech.

skinnywish 01-07-2010 09:21 AM

Gale-that's the perfect way to describe it! And thankfully, no heartburn yet for me! What can you take for it?

Gale02 01-07-2010 11:53 AM

Rolaids. Then I just had indigestion that tasted like Rolaids (TMI?)... yuck.

My "carsickness" set in last night. This is earlier than it did last time, hopefully it'll go away earlier too!

I was sick for 14 weeks with these last two pregnancies and it was rough. It is really hard when you still have to work and take care of other kidos. Thankfully it does pass, but it seems to be back the last week or so. I never felt this sick with any of my other kids tword the end. I wanted to eat everything in sight with them.

Gale - it is funny how every doctor is different. My midwife told me no Rolaids while pregnant that I had to use Tums or Mylanta were my only two options. I was a little bumbed cause I think Rolaids work the best and quickest. Luckily for me though the heartburn didn't really kick in until I was about 30 weeks. But when I got it - it was bad. I got water from heartburn.

I hope everyone is doing well and making it through the snow if your like us and have about 14 inches on the ground right now. It is so pretty when you can sit at home, but when you have to get out and drive in it - ick!

Gale02 01-07-2010 02:25 PM

lovinlife, I never thought about it. It looks like there's some debate among doctors on whether or not Rolaids are ok but Tums seem to be universally accepted. The reasoning seems to be that Rolaids are aluminum based and Tums are magnesium based. I'll probably switch to Tums since that seems to be definitive and there're questions about Rolaids and the effect of aluminum on an unborn baby. It's probably no big deal but why take a chance with something so easy to change?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I really don't think I'd have considered it!

Water also gives me BAD heartburn when I'm pg. It's miserable. I don't want the calories from sweetened drinks (can't have anything with artificial sweeteners, of course) but water causes heartburn. It's a catch-22.

15 weeks so far and the car sickness and puking is still here :-(

lovinlifex2 01-12-2010 05:42 PM

Hey ladies...36 weeks today - yeah!

My midwife checked me today and I was a loose 1 and 60%. She said the babies head is low and wants to check me again on Thursday since she said my cervix was pretty soft and thinks I may go quickly once I get all the way thinned out.

I am getting excited and anxious at the same time. I want the baby here, but then again I want to enjoy just a little more time with Johnathon being the baby. He will be one on Friday and just started taking steps this weekend. He is getting such an amazing personality.

I hope that everyone is feeling good. Take care all and I will check back later.

Gale02 01-12-2010 07:30 PM

First Dr's appt today. I'm at 6 weeks exactly today, due Sept. 7th. I have my first ultrasound next Friday, can't wait to see the little bean in there!

Haven't gained any weight yet. Dr said she doesn't want me doing WW but I can track my calories if it will help, so I'm going to do that and see how it goes.

skinnywish 01-12-2010 07:53 PM

jahjah-yikes! 15 weeks, that sucks. hope you start feeling better soon!

lovinlife - wow, sounds like you are close! enjoy your time with your first baby until this next one comes along!

Gale-we are only a week apart! my due date is Sept 14. i went to the Dr last week just to confirm everything and my first prenatal appointment will be Feb 22. i'm not sure about my first ultrasound...i think up here we do the first around 18 weeks or so...
