Hey! I haven't lost any weight in the 2 days I've been at it but I'm still hopefull. I know its not going to go overnight. I only ate my 3 meals today...NO snacks! I feel good about that. And I only had a Sprite instead of 3 Mountain Dews. I think cutting out snacks alone may work well for me. I think I'm also going to start writing down what I eat everyday, just so I'll have to look at it on paper. I'm working on babysteps here. I don't want to jump into counting calories so quick. Well, My son is almost asleep enough for me to do a 30 min workout. I Tivo'd Total Body Sculpt with Gilad, anyone ever done it? Its on FitTV...Gilad kicks my butt.
I lost a lb. This is SOOOO hard! The nursing thing is making the pounds stay on... But I wouldn't trade my sweet lil' mollie for anything. She's worth every pound and the months of not working out and being on bedrest. Worth every discomfort, every calorie counted, every step I run! Just had to remind myself...
Hey everyone! I'm new here. At the end of my 2nd pregnancy I was 220. 4 1/2 months later, I've been running and now I'm down to 180! I'm really proud of myself, training for a 1/2 marathon and all, but my tummy still makes me look 5 months pregnant. It's embarrassing and depressing. What can I do to blast this thing away for good. Even if it's hard work... I wanna know what works. Thanks. (And, of course, I'm nursing)
* Blue sky Awesome job on the pre-preggo Jeans You Rock!
*MomtoMollie, One pound lost is way better than one pound gained right?
Mom2Hunter, cutting out snacks has helped me a lot...small steps are still a step in the right direction
and Welcome fat2flat, I love your name I have some bad news about the tummy fat...that is the fat your body likes to hang onto when you are nursing, that and the upper/inner thigh fat. It is not to say that it wont go away but you will lose weight in other areas first. You have no reason to get discouraged, you are doing awesome!
I am coming up on the birthday party tomorrow, I am tempted to eat very little today so i can eat a honkin big piece of chocolate cake tomorrow
I'll check in later if I can, Happy weekend everyone

AHHHHH! this is SOOO much harder than I expected. I lost count at how many days I've been doing this (less than 10...I know that) and I have gained weight. I would love to catch some kind of worm or illness so I can lose some weight. (Just kidding, can't have the baby getting sick) What always shaves the inches off for me is cutting back how much I eat (I've never deliberately done it, but back when I 1st got pregant I didn't feel like eating as much and lost 15 lbs, did the same thing once when i was sick and couldn't keep anything down) my stomach shrank I guess and I physically couldn't eat as much. Bad thing is, it stretched back out. Posting on this website makes me feel like working out. I feel like I am a lazy lard butt because I'm sitting here griping about not losing weight, but what am I doing to lose weight? NOTHING! They say a watched pot never boils, but if you don't turn on the stove nothing is ever going to happen. Ok on that note I'm going to do some sit ups. Thats the least I can do.
PS: I got my eyebrows waxed for the 1st time yesterday, I feel prettier.
This IS hard! But I've been keeping a journal since I started being really hardcore, and I see the progress. A girl at the gym told me it really starts coming off around 6-7 months postpartum (and another friend told me that too), so keep up the hard work, girls, and watch what you eat! I'm trying so hard...
I have been doing FitDay online and it's been helpful to see where my calories were coming from-- I was eating a lot of fat for my calories, so I've cut back on the fat and increased the protein intake.
Hope this helps someone.
It IS hard. Can't cut too much or my milk will suffer.
I watch the sales and stock up on Lean Cuisine when they are 5/$10 - the cheapest they get here. Then I will buy like 20, mostly the Spa Cuisine line with whole grains or the Paninis for a treat. I eat one of those or leftovers from the previous night almost every day for lunch.
DS turns 4 on Thursday, he has been such a pill since I went back to work. I thought we were going to luck out on baby sister adjustment, but seems he just delayed it until Mom's time got tighter. I feel bad for him, but a 3 month old just is much needier than a 3 year old.
I did great on exercise for like 10 days and then it went out the window for a week. Don't know how to fix that, but I'm trying something new. Up at 5 am every day and the 4 days I don't commute, I will work out in the basement.
The trade off is that I'm EXHAUSTED and I miss my tv shows! Oh well. I still weigh less than I have in 7 or 8 years so I'm just going to enjoy that.

Yay I lost another lb! I think that's 2 this week! Getting baby on some solids is helping. Plus I ran 3 miles last night-- nothing like running for getting good and sweaty and burning a bunch of calories!
Got a haircut and highlight today. I feel prettier, too!!

Congrats on the weight loss (and the new hair)! It always feels so good to have our hair done.
I started Charles on solids today. (sigh) It's hard to believe he's transitioning already. He also had his 6 month check up. His weight was a little low, but I wasn't surprised. He hasn't been nursing well the last couple of weeks due to teething (those teeth are taking their sweet time to poke through!) and a nasty cold. I know once he's feeling better, he'll catch up again. I've restarted my weightloss efforts. I have been doing WW at home, but I'm having a hard time eating all of my points (being very heavy plus nursing, I get A LOT of points). I'll be able to cut backon the points once DS is eating more solids and less milk. I've been pushing my speed on the treadmill too. I eventually want to do the C25K, but for now I'm working on walking briskly for 30 min straight. Once I can do that and my weight is lower, I'll start up the C25K.
WOOHOO! I am 3.5 lbs away from my Halloween goal! YAY! I was really worried I had gained it all back this weekend. My DS was hospitalized for croup and I ate everything in sight. He's feeling a little better, I'm feeling sicker, but I lost 2 more lbs! Good luck ladies.
WTG Kimberly! I'm glad your son is feeling better. My DS is getting over a mild case of croup and that was scary enough without hospitalization. I hope you start feeling better soon too.
I have a baby son who is 7 weeks old and I'm exclusively breastfeeding him.
(I also have a DD who is 2 but I'm not breastfeeding her )
I need support to shift this weight - it's not just fat it's these loose tummy muscles and skin too - all saggy and awful - it's driving me nuts!
