Thanks all.
Minnie, Sometimes if I weigh in the morning or on a different day of the week, I'll weigh 2 or 3 lbs more because I haven't nursed yet or it's a different day of the week. Sticking with one specific day a week for weigh-ins is the best deal for me because I get discouraged if I weigh in and it's more in the middle of the week. Not sure why it happens-- water weight, haven't had a BM yet (lol), haven't worked out yet, etc.
Thanks, I know I shouldnt weigh more than once a week. Sometimes I just want an extra boost of happiness, backfired on me this time. I have decided I am not going to worry about it and see where I end up the first week of october at my 1 month mark.
ok, so where do the rest of you post? I have found this board not to be too busy....I have posted in the 30 somethings board but I cant keep up with it because it is crazy busy. I am just trying to find a place to fit in where I can make a daily or every other day connection...any suggestions?
thanks all
I post over on the journals daily, though I think they're discouraging new users and suggesting the blogs instead. I'm also in the Biggest Loser challenge and post there. I tried the 40-something thread, but too busy for me to keep up with.
How's everybody's baby/toddler? Kate is growing like a weed! DS will be 4 in 2 weeks and suddenly is regressing. Ugh.
I've been posting on chicks up for a challenge on the Thanksgiving day goal. It's hoppin' but not too busy for me (with a little one--aaaaaaa).
I like having a small-term goal to be accountable.
Hi girls I am by no means a newbie to 3FC, but I have been gone a long time. The baby girl in my avatar is now almost 3 and my son is 4 weeks old. (I guess it is time to update my avatar.) I was 233 pounds when I got pregnant and am now 227. Nursing has really helped me take the few pounds I gained back off. I don't want to lose weight too quickly cause I know it isn't good for the baby, but I am so tired of being fat. Right now my problem is that I don't have time to make anything healthy it seems with a toddler (who is turning into a little brat) and a baby that I swear wants to nurse or be held all day I just grab whatever and eat it because I am so hungry! Anyways, it is nice to meet you all and I hope to find ome time to get on here every now and again!
Welcome Jennie! Yes, those newborns do need a lot of one-on-one time. I felt a bit guilty about it at the time, but I left my 3 yr old in daycare while I was on maternity leave. It was the only way I could recover from my c-section fast enough to suit work! Of course he (3 yr old) waited til I went back to work to turn bratty and start regressing, so now I'm dealing with that!
It is real hard to plan and fix healthy stuff. Maybe you could stock up on frozen healthy meals? It takes me 2 days to finish a menu plan for the next week, so maybe you could print a blank form out and start working on it here and there?
Good luck and I look forward to a new avatar so I can see your precious ones!
Kim
Hi ladies! I think I posted here several months ago and then kind of dropped off. I am mom to a 12 month old. He still nurses about 4-5 times a day (3 times to go to sleep for naps and bedtime and then 1-2 times at night---we co-sleep). I dont know why I thought I would be done nursing by now, I dont see us giving it up for at least another 6 months. I have finally started not allowing extra nursing calories (I'm a calorie counter) and the weight is starting to come off.
Nice to meet you ladies, I look forward to chatting with you all.
I've never had to lose weight. This stinks, but all of you already know that. I am nursing a 3 month old. I'm thinking weight watchers, because they kinda think like me...(If you exersize you get extra points that day...at least that's what I heard) I don't like this belly anymore. Its not cute like it was when he was in there. Now its all flabby and covered in stretch marks. I still weigh what I weighed when I was 9 mos pregnant. I'm determined. I just need a little nudge. I love sweets, and I'm not sure I can say no. Any suggestions? I need to see results pretty quick even if it is just 2 or 3 lbs or I'll give up. Once I see that it works, I think I'll stick with it. Ok I keep on saying I'll start tomorrow, or I'll start next week, but I'm starting tonight. Right now. I'm not giving myself one more bowl of ice cream before I start. Tonight is the night. Send me the tips and tricks of the trade. I need a buddy to do this with. HELP!
Kimberly, I know what you mean!!! I just started counting calories and have lost 6 lbs in two weeks. I am not super strict but very careful and it is coming off. I would gladly be your weight loss buddy
I love sweets too, I had to get them out of my house. So, the best thing to do is start right now....at the next meal take the time to find out calories. Let me know what I can do to help. I really need a buddy too.
P.S. my cousins best friend is from Murfreesboro TN
take care
Minnie
I went to my weigh in at TOPS tonight and lost 2 pounds! YAY! All I know is that this nursing thing is working for me! This baby is getting breastfed until I reach my goal weight! LOL
Hello!
I'm returning to 3FC after a long hiatus (a year and a half maybe?). My nursling just turned two and I'm the heaviest I've been since she was born. For a year I was bouncing between 200 and 208 and now this summer I've jumped up to 215. I've been making stupid food choices, feeling gross, and not exercising.
Tonight I went for a run and I was happy with how far I was able to go. I used to run regularly and I even did a half marathon five years ago. I really miss the "me time", the confidence I had in my body, and the way I looked at 160 lbs. I'd really like to start running two or three times a week and my husband is very supportive of me. I just have to make the commitment to myself.
I keep feeling like I should start getting serious with my weight loss but I keep putting it off. Does anyone want to nag me?
KimProbable you've come to the right place! Start today!
I keep a food journal and stick to around 1800-2000 calories daily. I also run. I was not able to exercise for my entire pregnancy (complications) and was also on bedrest for 2 months, so getting back into shape has been a real challenge for me while also nursing.
I'm so proud of you for running. It's one of my favorite ways to get really sweaty and burn tons of calories. Keep it up and set goals for yourself doing that. My goal is to be able to run 2 miles in a row by the end of Sept and then set a new goal when I meet that one. Sometimes it's hard to set a goal you don't have a TON of control over, like a weight loss goal. My body's not being very responsive to cutting calories and exercise right now, but I have other goals like my running goal and our paying off debt goal to focus on, too. It's nice to have goals that you can control a little more than just one to take the weight off, especially when my stubborn body just wants to conserve it all to feed baby!!

I ran again today! I did the same route as yesterday and it went really well. My bad ankle gave me some grief but I hope it's an issue that will get better as I get fitter and drop some weight.
I'm going to dig around in the basement so see if I can find my WW stuff from six years ago. I did well on the points program when I used it and I'm not interested in paying to attend meetings. I was more conscious about my eating today. I did have one mini chocolate bar after lunch but I decided it would be my treat for the entire day.

Jennie I have resorted to Oatmeal in the am and a lean cuisine lunch trying not to snack too often and having those two meals easy like that has really helped me. Perhaps it will you too, I know the frozen meals are expensive but even if you can do it for a little while until baby is a bit older. that is my plan. hope this helps
minnie
