AN is from excess insulin.

I've done this before and the key for me is exercise since that helps lower excess insulin. At least 45 min 4 x a week. I'm trying to be better about that bench mark.

Also trying out lower GI diet/more controlled portions to get blood sugar stable. I fished out my old monitor and have been doing pricks to see where it is, and I have an endoc. appt in May. I haven't seen her since last year, when I was able to come off the Metformin.

Awesome!!! I never took pics of mine before, but I've noticed improvement on my elbows and knees... now if only I could get my armpits to clear up so that I can wear some tanktops this summer.... maybe increasing my exercise would help????

Keep us posted on your progress!

I used to have it in the armpits bit that's long faded.

I think it was worse when I was pregnant and eventually it chilled out, leaving me with the elbows, ankle and groin.

Congratulations! I have AN on my neck, collarbones (that was a bummer ...), underarms and groin. I recently gained back a bunch of weight, and that's when it started popping up on my neck and showed up for the first time on my collarbones. I was so upset.

I'm now removing most starchy carbs from my diet, weaning myself off sweets, started Met and am exercising with a vengeance. I hate this stuff on my skin - I want it GONE!

I know -- AN doesn't hurt or anything like that, but it isn't pretty.

You can do it!

Thanks apostrophe!

I've just been so angry about the darkness on my collarbones, because my collarbones are one of the few parts of my body that I DO love, you know?
