This sounds totally gross, but I had a number of small ones under my armpits. I just pulled them out. Didn't hurt and didn't bleed at all. I just grabbed them, and gave them a really really big yank. The way skin tags form is kind of like a lump hanging out of your skin by a stalk. If you pull really FAST and really HARD (like you are waxing your legs, for example), you'll pull it out by the stalk. I get them when they are small. If you CUT them off, you aren't getting the "root" and they will bleed like nobody's business.
I KNOW, EEEEEWWWWW!!!
But, it worked for me. They haven't recurred, and didn't bleed at all when I did it.
My SIL thinks I'm NUTS, but hey, she has them and I don't!
If this doesn't appeal at all to you, seriously try the old-fashioned way. Tie a thread (can be clear) really tightly around the base of it. You won't get gangrene or infected or anything. All this does is restrict the blood supply to the tag. It will wither away as a result and fall off. Seriously.

Hmmm - don't think I could pull it off - my eyelid would come with it - but I should get SOMEONE else to tie the thread - so I don't repeat my comedy act. Thanks !!!

This one is on my eyelid. I have had it forever and I have an event coming up in two weeks and I want it gone - I am really self conscious about it. I had my NP remove two in my armpit last week but she wouldn't do this one. She said to have the dermatologist do it but he can't get me in until December. I want to take a nail clipper to it - carefully - but am nervous it my not stop bleeding and I can't put a bandage there.
My opthomalogist (sp?) told me he could remove one from my eyelid, no problem. You may want to check with a local one!

Ooooh - thats a great idea !! I never thought of that - had mentioned it to my optomotrist - but that is just the glasses and such - the opthamolgist actually handles the actual eye health !!! I'll make a few calls tomorrow morning.
Thank You !!!!!!

Congratulations on the baby !! You must be so excited !

Eeek! I would be very careful about anything having to do with your eyelid.

I woke up one morning last year and my eye was completely crusted over with blood, which of course completely freaked me out. When I went to the eye doctor, he said that I must have had a small scratch on my eyelid (probably from my cat), and that the blood vessels are very close to the surface there, so that it bleeds ALOT. He gave the example of boxers, and how sometimes they have blood running down their face, when it's just their eyelid that has been nicked. So I would second everyone else who has said not to do anything on your own. My eye was so covered that I couldn't open it until I had washed some of the blood off. And of course this was at 5 in the morning, and I was so panicked and sleepy that I didn't even figure out that it was blood (because it had dried black) for some time. The only theory that I could come up with was that some sort of terrible infection or fungus had taken over during the night (this was when there was a big recall on contact lens cleaners for causing fungal infections). So realizing that it was "just" blood was sort of a relief, although then I couldn't figure out where it could have come from, because my eye seemed fine otherwise.

Anyhoo, it was a really disturbing experience that I would not want anyone else to have to go through...
