Default infertility and losing weight

Hello. I was just wondering if there was anyone that was or is pregnant and has POCS and got pregnant with just weight loss.

I have been trying to get pregnant for 4 1/2 years. I have been trying to lose weight because my Dr said that it would help if I lost weight.

Hi, I'm new, but am really excited to have the chance to talk to other women who are struggling with the same problems. I have been married for 3 years and have been trying to get pregnant for 2 1/2. I found out I have PCOS shortly after getting married. I had some weight gain after marriage and lost about 20-25 pounds with Metabolic Weight Loss Center. It is a "lose weight quick" option, but once you stop, you gain the weight back. That was my experience anyway. I am currently doing Weight Watchers. I am back to about 5 pounds from my lowest point with MWC. I have a lot of support with WW at work. There are quite a few people there that are doing it also. I would love to be a source of support as you go on your journey. It is so tough trying to lose weight with PCOS. I don't feel like anyone understands that.

This forum isn't as fast moving as some of the others so it may take a bit for you to get a good response, but I know some of the ladies on here have PCOS and children.

Losing weight helps a lot! There's less fat for your estrogen to hide in (which is part of the PCOS problem). I've just recently had my first period in a year and half and I'd only lost 10 pounds at the time.

Some of the ladies who've lost weight have also lost their PCOS symptoms/side effects, so keep at it. It is SO much more managable as you get into better shape.

Make sure your doctor checks you out fully. In 1999, I had an HSG that showed open tubes, this meant my only problem was the PCOS. I just had another HSG in July and my tubes are now both blocked.

I had lost 70 lbs. in an effort to get pregnant, but after two years of regular ovulation and well-timed sex, I got depressed that my weight loss was not helping. I have now gained all the weight back. I had pinned too many hopes on losing weight to get pregnant, when now it turns out that I can never get pregnant without IVF, no matter what I weigh.

My game plan now is to get in the program to get a lap-band while doing IVF. If I do not get pregnant by the time I get approved for surgery, I will have the surgery and do more IVF later. While I am going through the IVF cycles I will exercise and eat right and hope to lose weight. It will actually be harder to lose weight with all of the hormones I will have to take, but I will do everything I can.
