Actually I was beginning to think Texas did not sell the Pink Ladies! I would never have guessed Wal-Mart would be selling them. I guess I need to give Wal-mart a little more credit to their fruit area. I usually do not buy fruit from them. I am always pretty disappointed how their strawberries look. So sad they sell them at $2.50 and they never look decent. Everybody else sell them any where from $3.50 to $4.00. Ironically the Sam's club fruits looks better then their sister stores.
I'll buy my tangerines and sometimes kiwi, apples at Kroger’s.
I'll buy my cantaloups, banana's and sometimes kiwi and apples at Sam's
The best pink grapefruit I have ever tasted comes from Florida and if my dad ( a nation wide truck driver) doesn't bring them to me I just don't eat them. I haven't found a pink grapefruit here yet that is worth a darn or ever tasted as sweet as the case of pink grapefruit that my dad had brought to me from Florida. Something I need to look into.
The strawberries and sometimes the kiwi's are disappointing from Wal-Mart. It is very rare that I’ll pick those two items up from there.
Well, I finally found the Pink Lady apples the other day. Wal-Mart had them, so I decided to give them a try. The flavor was very good, but I was really disappointed in the texture. They were a lot softer than I was hoping for (too bad, since I did like the flavor). I will probably buy them again, but they don't top my list of favorites.
Has anyone tried the Cameo apples? They were sitting right next to the Pink Ladies and I was curious about them, but didn't get any because I just hate to get all excited about an apple and then be disappointed (yes, I do get all excited about apples ).
I bought 2 cameos the other day and have been waiting to try them. They are huge suckers so I will need some motivation to cut them up. I'll let you know what I think...

Obviously you did not get them nice and fresh from Washington State... they are VERY firm and crunchy! But the ones I bought in Missouri last year were mushy too.... yeeks it must have been a LONG trip across the country!!
I agree.... Cameos are among my favorites too, along with Jonagolds.
LOL do you believe all of us are on here talking about our favorite APPLES lolol
Man... I don't remember Pink Ladies being so darn huge. I got some yesterday... 3/4 lb a piece! I ate one today... could barely get through the whole thing. DEFINITELY filled me up! And it was oh, so yummy. Crisp, fresh, and sweet. Mmm mmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
so far fuji are my favorite....espeically when they are real red. that means they are sweeter. i tried gala and red rome and washington apples, and i just don't like the textures. i like a firm apple. i will have to give the pink ladies one a try. i definately like the name....loved the movie grease. hehehe.
