Default Old Navy makes me feel good about myself

because I can officially wear their LARGE tops. A LARGE. There is no X in front of that L! Woo! The only thing is I'm pretty sure I can't wear a large anywhere else, lol, but that made my day still. XD

Their sizes are actually true to size in my opinion; I expect a shirt that's sized large and above to actually be large (or more) and not medium-small, lol.

that's interesting. I'm also 5'4" but I'm somewhere in the 150s and I still fit only into their large...my bust is relatively modest, so how does that work?

With Old Navy their sizing is all over the place so it can be hard to tell. Their size chart is pretty comparable to other retailers but it's a toss up as to what you'll find in the store.

I wear an XS/S or a 0/2 in ON but there have been times where the smalls are too small and the extra smalls are too big. There was also another time where I pulled out a size 0 and a size 2 of the same pants. I couldn't even zip the 0, but the 2s were falling off me...

I'm pretty much in a similar range in other stores though. Like today I bought some stuff in smalls at Mandee.

Their sizing is such a mess!! I need an XL in some of their tops and an XS in others...

I agree their sizing is all over the place! I have two pair of pants from there that fit great. One is a size 18 and the other is a 14.

Old Navy jeans seem to be the smallest jeans in the world and I squealed when I realized I fit back into a 14!!!
I haven't tried on a shirt in a really long time there. Maybe I should go tomorrow!

You'd be a size smaller at Walmart. I bought some clearance ($3) size 6 jeans as a mini goal without trying them on. Got home and they fit, not much tighter than the size 10s I was wearing. Talk about ego boost.

Me too! I love how I rant and rave about vanity sizing and how it's pointless, and then I can turn around and be like, "Yay! I'm a large!" even though the only reason I fit in their large is because of vanity sizing. I make no sense sometimes.

I was just going to comment similar to this. In a way - we are fooling ourselves, aren't we? Like, look, "I'm not that big!"

Tell that to my size 16 LL bean skirt in my closet that fits perfectly (from 1994). Now I need a 10 LL bean.

I'm going to have to try on clothes at ON next time I'm there. I just assumed that they wouldn't fit me. (I'm usually a size XL)
I recently bought a faux leather coat online that I loved the look of. Reviews said it ran a bit small, so I got an XXL. It's WAAAYYYY too tight. Talk about vanity sizing.... once I fit into the coat I'm going to cut out the tag!
And I AM keeping that coat until I fit into it!
